A list of puns related to "Cineplex"
CSEC is an entertainment company so is Loews Cineplex Entertainment.
If Loews Cineplex Entertainment wanted to build a $600 million movie/concert/entertainment complex in Calgary and demanded the city contribute half would you be even remotely interested?
Don't get sucked in by the folly of "Calgary's" Flames.
Roommate went to see Spider-Man on Friday and there was no social distancing, no masks, and the theatre had every single seat filled. I donβt go anywhere because Iβm immunocompromised and she said she hasnβt been anywhere other than the movies (no eating out, etc) and she and I just got our covid results back positive so sheβs 100% sure she got it from there.
Iβve tried finding ways to call the theatre but they only have automated calls with movie times and no option to speak to real people over the phone, so Iβm still trying to find out how to contact them.
If you were at a Friday night showing of Spider-Man or have been to cineplex Landsdowne recently stay safe and try to get tested!
Edit: she says she went to the 11pm VIP section but got there early because of lines
As I'm sure you're aware, a little movie called Spider-Man No Way Home will be coming out Friday, the same day as the new province-wide restrictions. I bought tickets a few weeks ago and I'm curious if we'll still be able to see it. Thanks for any info!
Should lead to a nice increase in their stock price tomorrow.
We've booked tickets for Spider-Man but with news that theatres are reducing to 50% capacity, now sure if we still go or not. I can't find any updates anywhere.
Update: I called Cineplex again today. They mentioned they are restricting capacity in the building to 50% (includes seats in theatres as well as lobby and concessions). They're not spacing seats out, they're just keeping the number of people in the building at less than 50% total capacity. The specific theatre I was going to said they usually don't have more than 50% of the building capacity in the building at once based on how they space out their show times so it might be business as usual.
Ahoy mateys,
I have a bunch of points I'm able to redeem for any of the following gift cards, in the following denominations. Please again note these are from Canada, and in CAD currency. Usable on any Canadian-based account.
Looking for BTC/ETH/RVN/LTC.
Although my flair shows a beginner, I will only go first if you're an established trader with lots of confirmed exchanges here - I have copious amounts of feedback across many subreddits.

My food is here so I'll keep this... short
This is not an attempt to short squeeze. I don't care about the short squeeze.
Cineplex has been shit for a month
As you can see, Cineplex stock has been going down straight for over a month, coming down almost 50%.
Everyone knows movie tickets are selling fast. Spiderman pre-sale crashed the website. You can look up the seating availability yourself, not going to go into this here.
I have done the DD on the latest financials for you, and yes it's all great. Cashflow is strong, extended debt is no problem. Trust me my intelligent redditors, I only bring you the best DDs. Smarty pants out there can look up the numbers yourself.
So what's up? Look at the short data.
IIROC SSTSSR for the first two weeks of November, is showing over 26% short trade volume of 3.9 million shares or $58 million in value
The most recent data for the last two weeks of November, is showing 31% short trade volume of over 4.1 million shares or $52 million in value
The latest short interest is 5.8 million shares (~10% of float). This may not seem like a lot but remember that this is Canada with low liquidity and volume. This is a lot of shares, 10x daily average volume.
Q4 is going to be a record breaking quarter. Earnings should be out in February. I'm expecting about $.50 EPS for Q4 but any signs of positive EPS will do. This may kill the shorts. As I recall, a lot of the shorted shares have about 7 months to cover. They may or may not, but I'm long
I am waiting to see the short interest update at the end of next week.
I'mππ€²over 5k shares and call options, LOC maxed to the tits for these shares.
proof - not my only account and still adding when it dips π
Good luck to my fellow theatre gang out there, be strong, trade with conviction not fear. Market gods will reward us
I know this is the third post in a few days about it, but I left a voicemail to cineplex this afternoon and they call me back saying they will send a refund today or tomorrow to anyone who bought tickets in a large theatre where there was too many people and where it was impossible to follow the new restrictions! I just received my refund a few minutes ago and we will be able book Friday 10am! « Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Nova Scotia, and Saturday at 9:00 a.m in New Brunswick. »
We have a lot of garbage to clean, people are touching faces and keeping masks off despite us asking them to because βthey finished eatingβ, or βI still have popcornβ¦β ...then proceed to leave with a not even half-finished bag.
Iβm seriously considering getting a face visor and double masking for just this month, weβre at 100% capacity and No Way Home has already sold out on multiple screenings for opening night.
You can ensure weβre doing the same for ya! We sanitize and mark each seat that someoneβs sat on with our electronic till, and make sure you every touched surface is cleaned (we have an enhanced cleaner shift someone has to take)
So, I am Deaf and I am an avid marvel fan. I bought two tickets for myself and my (hearing) SO to go see Spider-Man: NWH in a VIP theatre. Given my previous experiences with Cineplex and their poor regulation of ensuring CC devices work (1 out of 3 timesβ it works or worse, it works but they are super laggy)
I checked with my local theatre in advance to make sure their CC device is working. They reassured me that it would be because they already checked it themselves. Great. We arrived early for a dinner in the VIP lounge and from there, I checked with them one more time. They said it would be working. Canβt wait!
We go and sit down in our seats all ready for the movie to start. But of courseβ¦ CC device didnβt work the moment it started. We had to head out even though we only saw the first three minutes of the movie, to let them know it didnβt work. I was dreading this moment but they turned to us and said, βIβm sorry. I donβt know why itβs not working but itβs just notβ then they gave us a full refund for everything, including TWO ticket vouchers (the irony!)
You see, Iβve received this same olβ apology over and over from them when the CC device isnβt working and they offer an empty promise to not let this happen again in the future but it almost always does. I am utterly heartbroken because this means I have to wait a little longer to see it and I gotta stay off the Internet to avoid any spoilers.
While hearing movie-goers donβt have to worry about all of this unnecessary worry and disappointment every time they go to a movie theatre, hoping the stereo sounds system work this time. Even worse, I havenβt been able to experience a movie in the IMAX because for some reason, they donβt support CC at all. My SO (who is a saint btw) has forego the experience of seeing movies in IMAX for me, even though I never asked him to.
Iβd like to see if thereβs a way to get in touch with someone else higher up at Cineplex about perhaps considering the option of providing open captions screenings? It would be cheaper due to not having to spend money on training the staff on using the technical aspects of (super old) CC devices AND all of the refunds they have to reissue for the disappointed customers.
AMC theatres in the United States are already doing this and theyβre seeing positive results of it. Iβve emailed Cineplexβs Accessibility Coordinator about this but they never got back to me.
Also, this would also benefit some of hearing movie-goers who may hav
... keep reading on reddit β‘Looking to go see Spider-Man: No Way Home during my Christmas break with some friends, and one of them suggested we go see it at a Landmark theatre. I've never been to one of their theatres before, so I'd like to hear from people who've been to both Landmark & Cineplex theatres how the two compare. Also, I typically see movies in Cineplex's UltraAVX format for the superior sound and picture quality. Is Landmark's Laser Ultra format worth it in comparison to 3D or a standard 2D theatre & is it better or worse than UltraAVX?
Title says it all.
Found out today I was exposed to someone with COVID so must isolate.
Nightmare Alley- Cineplex Yonge and Eg. @ 3:40 p.m TODAY.
Two free tickets up for grabs. Send me a PM, first person gets them.
Have a great day all!
I have tickets for Thursday Dec 23rd Courtney Park evening showtime.
Anyone been to the evening showtimes this week Monday-Wednesday? What's the theater like? I assume its packed? Were a majority of people actually wearing their masks the whole movie?
I'm just sort of wary now about going, but the other half of my mind is so damn pumped to see the movie. Wanted to see how others felt. Thank you! No spoilers please!
Does anyone know what cineplex's policy is on in theatre food and social distancing?
It looks like the theatre is full (based on seat selection) so I'm assuming no food or drinks in the theatre.
The picture of the Zellers restaurant inspired me to make this post. Who remembers the Cineplex in the basement of Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill?
I used to take my kids there all the time when they were little. Does anyone have pictures of the place?
Was going to book tickets online and the seating chart does not show any seats blocked off. Is this correct?
We both pulled up to a red light. I was making a Left turn to upper red hill. He was going straight. While the light was red, he got out of his truck ripped my door handle off and then sped away. I was honestly to shocked by what the fuck happened to get any information other than a black truck and an old man... so I guess this is just a heads up in case he does this regularly! Watch out, the guys a mad lad!
At Cineplex theatres, are you able to buy and eat concessions while sitting down in the movie theatre, or are you not allowed to currently eat during the film?
Yes, I know that the Cineplex threads are frequent, but I have searched them and I have searched through the comment sections, but have not been able to see an actual answer to this question. Thank you in advance for your time!
UPDATE: Thursday, December 23rd, 2021. At the Scotiabank Theatre IMAX in Halifax, there is NO FOOD ALLOWED INSIDE. The concession area is belted off, except you can buy merchandise or you can order something to eat, but the "designated area" is outside.

Does anyone have any pictures of the inside of the old cineplex odeon that was located on fairway road, that was torn down around 10 years ago? Curious to see if the inside is how I remember it.
Iβm in BC and they are making it very difficult to get tickets, so maybe this will help people. You have to search for Scream, then you can buy advanced tickets for Thursday. If you go to Friday none are available, and if you navigate to the date before you search the movieβScream doesnβt show up.
Seems crazy that itβs not just on the homepage like every other movie, not sure why they are making it so difficult.
