A list of puns related to "Cenobitic"
The discussion on Hellraiserβs many awful sequels got me thinking: Whatβs the shittiest/most ridiculous Cenobite you could design? Whatβs the ironic punishment?
Mine: Samuel Morse gets turned into a Cenobite with telegraph keys instead of fingers. He hammers furiously trying to communicate but almost nobody knows Morse code these days. Heβs a very frustrated lil demon.
Pinterest.
He really doesn't feel very scary to play against with his strange rigid waddle animation, the voice lines made it feel like he was more alive. :( My immersion
First, let's go over why this bug occurs. Well, I say "bug" but it's a bit more complex than that. It's not intended (thus a bug), but everything is working like it's supposed to (so not a bug?)
There are 2 main reasons why you can be interrupted by chains when attempting to solve the box.
Reason 1) You attempted to solve while a chain was spawning. The chain doesn't suddenly poof out of existence. It'll keep spawning, and you'll get interrupted. You need to dodge it and then immediately solve it.
Reason 2) Trying to solve immediately after breaking free from a chain. If you were interrupted by a chain, by the time you break free, another will be in the process of spawning and will interrupt you. Once more, you need to dodge it. If you attempt to break by the environment, this gets cranked up to 11 as the chain will respawn like normal AND another will spawn as a result of a chain hunt. Once again, dodge and then solve.
If you'd prefer to be on the safe side, then when you pick up the box, you can just stand still for a moment and wait for a chain to spawn first. Dodge it, and then solve. If you get hit, break free (do NOT break by environment), wait for another chain to spawn, dodge, and then solve.
Most of you will say "Well, because they were seekers of pain and pleasure indivisible", and with good reason.
And yet, this is the description of Balberith, one of the cenobites from the Epic Comics:
>In life, Mrs. Balberith was a mother and a librarian. Tragically, her son was struck fatally ill one day, and she tirelessly perused countless books in an attempt to find a cure for him, but with no luck. All hope seemed lost until a local pharmacist gave her a puzzle that he claimed would yield the cure she sought. The pharmacist unfortunately was an agent of Leviathan and the puzzle a Lament Configuration, so when Mrs. Balberith finally solved it she was taken by the Cenobites to be made into one of their own, allowing her just one last glimpse of her son to see that he had been cured. She was then made into Balberith, Hell's Librarian, with her glasses stitched into her head, her books of eternally tormented flesh, and the knowledge she would never see her son again.
Now that's just sad. She was not degenerate, and did not seek after pleasure; She only sought a cure for her son.
This is not speculation: This is what happened in the comics. A mother, with no inclination towards sadomasochism opened the box, and was transformed into a cenobite. She was entirely free of degeneracy. But that didn't stop Leviathan from transforming her into one of his minions.
Really makes you think, doesn't it? Maybe Elliot Spencer was the exception as opposed to the rule. Perhaps he fit the bill for what Leviathan wanted in a leader, while the others were simply whomever was unfortunate enough to open the box for whatever reason.
This, I think proves what I have long thought of the being known as Leviathan: While his servants are not evil, he is.
This has actually made me more motivated to write that fic I keep telling you all about. There has been a long pause in the process because of school, but I should be able to continue soon. I'm gonna kill this MF in the most grimdark way I can think of.
Thy might ask you: "What is your pleasure?"
What would they base your transformation on?: Your desires? Your dark side? Insecurities? Wishes? Dreams? Fears? Pet peeves? Physical features? Personality? Struggles? Hobbies/interests? Etc.
For context, in this scenario you live in the hellraiser universe (and thus don't know much or anything about it). This question is asking what you think would realistically happen and what you would realistically do in this situation.
You can base it on any incarnation of the cenobites and the puzzle box you like (you should mention what incarnation you are basing it on). You can write more than 1 scenario if you'd like, and you can write it however you like (a simple summary, a story, dialogue, etc).
Genuine question here: How many people play The Cenobite? Ever since his release, I haven't found a single match against him as Survivor. I play both Survivor and Killer almost equally, but I play Killer a bit more. Do people not like his playstyle? Is it down to his DLC being a single character? Or is it because of the whole NFT situation? I hate NFT's in general so I could understand that being the reason why. But does anyone know why specifically? Or is he rare for any other Survivors to enouncter?
I was playing survivor with my boyfriend whoβs new to the game. The MMR was much much lower so I basically looped the killer (cenobite) all game which gave me plenty of opportunities to hear his stun sound. It fits in really well with the cenobitesβ backstory but it was so jarring to me to hear pinhead going βmmmmhhh~β¦β right in my ear xDDD
Basically I'm asking how they decide what each person will be transformed into. Is it random? Is it meant to reflect their fate? Is it based on their desires (greed, sex, power, etc)? Is it based on their sins or their dark side? Is it based off of their greatest fears or the things they hate the most? Is it based on their actions and beliefs in life (i.e. priest, murderer, doctor, etc)?
I do know that some of the cenobites we've seen had their features based off of some of the things listed above, but for the main trio of cenobites, what were their features based off of?
As I understand it, Leviathan and Morte Mamme are engaged in an eternal battle between Chaos(Life) and Order.
There is a General cenobite who leads Hell's armies. So, does that mean the cenobites are both monks and warriors?
Cause I think that's the coolest thing ever.
Something interesting.
Is the adept cenobite bugged for anyone else Iβm on PS5 I used his perks I got merciless and got all four red pips and the achievement is still locked :/
