A list of puns related to "Casuarius Casuarius"
Hello everyone, I watched a video about some hadrosaurs in which the dinosaur with the bigger crest was depicted as the male trying to impress the ladys with head movement and color display peacock style. And for some reason the Cassowary popped into my mind.
Female Cassowarry are larger than the males. I did a little research and it looks like Cassowarries use their crests for heat regulation. Does this mean they don't use them for display? If heat regulation is the only use why the different shape and why does the females crest seem exponentially larger? And why are the females more brightly colored?
> Male or female may initiate courtship (BentrupperbΓ€umer 1997)
> If male initiates, female chases male away at first, but then allows male to approach; feed together (Crome 1976; Marchant and Higgins 1990; Biggs 2013)
>Male then displays to female, circling around her and emitting a low, rumbling βboo-boo-booβ call (feathers not raised). Maleβs throat swells. May scratch/preen femaleβs neck or rump
>If female initiates pair formation, chases male, but then becomes less aggressive until the pair feed together (Davies 2002)

Can someone please explain the sexual dimorphism of Cassowaries to me?
So that was just recently put together by some guy and confirmed by a head dev. Just posting this as a PSA. I suggest to keep the hype in your pockets for your own psychological wellbeing.

Ight, so this started as another post I made about what I think a true wild update should add (that post can be found here my thoughts on Minecraft's updates and my hopes for 1.19 it is a long post tho). In that post I said that the jungle could used a big update to help spread awareness of irl jungles. So now I am making this post to add more to my initial thoughts on the jungle.
First thing I believe a update to the jungle should do is remove the jungle bushes aka all the leaves on the ground, it should be replaced with a assortment of new plants of both 2d plants and block plants. I also believe more tree types should be added I have 2 reasons for this, the first is jungles typically have 4 layers to them named emergent, canopy, understory, and forest floor, Minecraft kind of has 3 the leaves on the ground small jungle trees and big jungle trees adding in 1 or 2 more tree types could give the jungle all 4 layers. The second reason is well jungles are the most biodiverse biome irl so it should be in Minecraft, so more trees more biodiversity. This is the same reason I believe the jungle floor should be changed.
(There are so many plants in the jungle most would be great for Minecraft though a fruit tree and the biggest flower in the world Rafflesia arnoldii would be nice to see added.)
Ight now on to some mobs that I think would work well in a jungle update. Feel free to skip to the next big paragraph if u don't want to read about animals.
Casuarius casuarius - A lager flightless bird that runs though the forest floor. This mob is shy and will run from players when approached. If attacked it will then deliver kicks with is strong legs. You may be able to find one of it's eggs, if you hatch it the cassowary will not run from you much like foxes. When killed drops its casque (the thing on its head) used to make a new armor piece more on that later.

I have created a cannon list of every extinct animal whose DNA InGen (or Dr. Wu when he was working privately) had ever gotten their hands on. Not every animal was cloned though (some were used for hybrids, others, InGen simply never got around to utilizing). If you need clarification about my source then I'll be happy to explain. This is only for the film universe canon. Hybrids are not included because their genome is of multiple species. A question mark (?) indicates that we know about the species from a "soft canon" source that is suppose to take place in the movie universe but whose validity can be called into question (i.e. Jurassic Park: The Game or that poster that appeared on the DPG website). A bolded name implies we've seen a clone of this species live in the films. I hope this is helpful/interesting to some.

I'll cut right to the analysis, but first, I highly recommend you to read both of the related reads, as they're both related to Mikage.
The ties that bind; family is the most powerful link we have (whether that is something we want or not) and something that we cannot choose. Thus, the actions of one family member (good or bad) will reflect on other members.
Mitama Yakumo desired to destroy all around her, a wish that, ironically enough, ended up being self-destructive, forcing her to become a Magical Girl that was incapable of carrying out her own survival. Come Livia, her mentor, however, Mitama learned how to survive, but also the beauty of those who truly see her for how she was, rather than purely on the failures she experienced. In that regard, Mitama's fury was put behind her, but not left behind--this burden would fall to Mikage Yakumo, the younger sister of Mitama.
Mikage is an extra-adorable girl who is also very animated, both with her expressions and body movements. There is a degree of extra care into Mikage's expressions, as they are designed for a girl who is represented by extreme emotions. For example, Mikage's neutral stance gives off a carefree and sassy attitude with levels of smug that could kill. Her damaged pose, however, is pretty hard to look at, as it is clear that Mikage is exhausted and in pain, with her being hunched over, mouth wide open in exasperation.
Additionally, Mikage is voiced by Amane Shindou, who is, as of me writing this, apparently only 16-years-old. It goes without saying that she is a very young voice actress, but also one with an impressive resume for her young age. What makes Amane so distinct as an actress is her vocal range, which is higher-pitched than most other actresses, and that reflects a lot on Mikage. When you hear her talk, you'll probably notice th

Hi! How've you been doing? Well enough small talk, lets get down to business. We are nearly out of murder birds, what the layman would call "Cassowaries". Due to several bad things happening all at once, Australia's population of Casuarius casuarius is shrinking. Thus, we'd like to ask New Guinea to allow Australia to import some of its Cassowaries so that it would bolster the number within Australia in the short term, which would go on to help with conservation in the long term. We hope you say yes!
Sincerely,
Australia
Hello, everyone, welcome to my first Reddit post! Iβve just gotten myself hooked on Planet Zoo and joined to discuss the game, among other things.
Something Iβve noticed about the animal lineup in Planet Zoo is that there seems to be a lack of animals from Australia, or just the continent of Oceania in general. The only animals I could find are three exhibit species (the common death adder, eastern brown snake, and the giant burrowing cockroach) and one habitat species (the saltwater crocodile, but even then it ranges elsewhere).
Given that Australia is such a uniquely diverse continent with its fauna, it would be great to see more Australian animals in Planet Zoo. Perhaps Frontier could do an Australia DLC pack.
Here are some of my suggestions as to Australian animals that would be cool to see in Planet Zoo. Even a few of these (and their respective items, Eucalyptus trees, anyone?) would really fill out the game:
Habitat Species: Red Kangaroo - Osphranter rufus Western Grey Kangaroo - Macropus fuliginosus Lumholtzβs Tree Kangaroo - Dendrolagus lumholtzi Koala - Phascolarctos cinereus Platypus - Ornithorynchus anatinus Tasmanian Devil - Sarcophilus harrisii Southern Cassowary - Casuarius casuarius Emu - Dromaius novaehollandiae
Exhibit Species: Sugar Glider - Petaurus breviceps Bearded Dragon - Pogona vitticeps Frilled Lizard - Chlamydosaurus kingii Macleayβs Spectre Stick Insect - Extatosoma tiaratum
Thoughts are appreciated!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Mates and I were having a chat recently and spiders came up. Then snakes, then other animals.
I wasnβt taking much notice of Apprentice, they were off to the side and seemingly just saying random creatures. (Apprentices say random shit all the time. Bless them, they break up the day.)
After a while they blurted out, βBingo!β
Turns out they were on the line, looking at the Australian Geographic list of top 30 dangerous Australian animals. They showed me their phone, I had a laugh, and so I thought Iβd share with you here. The brackets after indicate how close I got to each one.

1 Box Jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) (8m/26β)
Danger rating: 9/10
2 Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) (Contact. Multiple times over the years.)
3 Irukandji Jellyfish (Carukia barnesi) (Contact.)
Danger rating: 8/10
4 Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas) (1m/3β)
5 Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) (3m/9β)
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual

If this is not the right forum for this type of content, I apologize. I would only ask that I be pointed in the right direction for the advice I am asking for. I am not looking for upvotes, or exposure, simply the opinions of any people who love extinct animals.
Below is an alphabetized list of extinct animals. I need the advice of paleontologists or knowledgeable paleo enthusiasts to help with it. Please do not ask the reason for its existence, you will not be given a reason. All I will say is that I would like for you to think of this list as a sort of "all-star roster" for prehistoric animals. This list's criteria for choosing animals is based on the following:
Having this criteria in mind, I ask that you look over the list of animals and give your opinion. Input what unique, lesser-known animals should be contributed to the list, or respond with criticisms. If there are any glaring animals who are missing from list who absolutely should be represented, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this over. Below I have included the genus and selected species, as well as a common name, if applicable. The list has been non-italicized.
"Real Emus" only consist of the mainland emu and the extinct King Island subspecies. When people try to argue that birds like kiwis are not real emu, while saying that ostriches are, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emu as My Cassowary Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emus are FLIGHTLESS, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emus are weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into their mating call. Some examples of REAL EMUS are Dromaius novaehollandiae novaehollandiae, Dromaius novaehollandiae rothschildi, Dromaius novaehollandiae woodwardi (the only real emu bird from Northern Australia) and Dromaius novaehollandiae minor. Some examples of FAKE EMUS are the American Rhea, My Cassowary Romance and the Moa. THE EMU BELONGS TO DROMAIUS NOT TO CASUARIUS, HYPSELORNIS, STRUTHIO OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENUS
