A list of puns related to "Capoeira"
Just seeking opinions/suggestions. I really like the art of capoeira and would like to start Basic movement for health and fitness purposes. However, I have a weak shoulder joint which is not going to get better even after an operationI had 5 years ago. Just seeking some advise really...... Thanks in advance and Happy Newyear
Oi, galera!
I'm going to Brazil next week for two weeks. I will be staying in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte most of the time. I do have a descent knowledge and contacts for BH since my native group (grupo Camangula) is originally from Belo but I would like to learn something from Cariocas as well. So far I managed to contact Mestre Ferradura since he's giving classes in Botafogo but I would like also meet and train maybe some modern capoeira. Are there any Roda de Ruas in RdJ? Which groups are active and worth meeting there? Where is safe and where is not? I will probably want to stick to safe areas since I'm going alone.
Any tip will be deeply appreciated.
Cheers
Canario
I was watching this video where seven participants claim to be black belts in their style with two being fakes. I found myself thinking about what the Capoeira equivalent would be, someone who is considered to have mastery in the style. My first thought is that that's obviously a Mestre, but that level seems too high, generally requiring decades of study, versus many styles where 5-10 years is sufficient, not necessarily enough to have students and a lineage, but having knowledge of the techniques and the whys behind them.
My personal hunch is that somewhere in the Graduado to Instrutor level sounds right. I might go as low as Aluno.
I was watching a video showing a bout from this organization but it kind of confused me. Even as a fan of many different types Combat Sports it was confusing to see who was actually winning and it seemed like sometimes they weren't even really trying to hit each other. Now as someone who trains in karate I'm very familiar to semi and no contact rulesets but sometimes I would see kicks that weren't even really aimed at your opponent. So if someone could explain the rules and nuances of this competition I would appreciate it.

I've done my fair share of boxing and taekwondo, albeit without any formal belts, and I could say I'm fairly decent with my punches and kicks. Admittedly I want to put some spin into my daily routine though. I've gained a bit since the pandemic (105kg from 80kg) and want to lose some weight, so I'm thinking of something new like capoeira.
It's always been such an interesting sight to me seeing people dance while doing techniques, and it didn't help that I main Eddy Gordo in Tekken lol. Is capoeira worth the cardio, though?
I have about 3-4 years experience total training capoeira, almost a year of that training angola. I'd really love to continue training angola, but the place I live in now has no angola groups anywhere close. What are your recommendations for training alone? I know this isn't ideal at all, but I at least want to stay in shape and keep practicing.
My search has yielded nothing. Help me out?
I've been looking for a more pvp oriented deck that would be more based on capoeira, or maybe Muay Thai, Does anyone know of any schools with those kind of decks on ps4? or maybe any good pvp decks at all?
Both users of Brazilian martial arts. They encounter in a park and a fight sparks. Who wins?
Is there a directory of clubs in the US? When I travel, it's kinda cool to visit another class.
Hi everyone, I hope this is appropriate here. My 16 year-old son has been practicing capoeira for the past six months or so and I'm wondering what a good Christmas gift for him would be under $200 or so. I've searched on here for similar posts but the most recent one was a few years ago. Thank you!
Hello! I made a metal cover for a famous capoeira song! Check it out!
