A list of puns related to "Brix"
I sent in an application for this appartment got approved, but found a better one.
Naturally I asked to cancel my application.
The landlord was desparate and wouldn't let me. And tried to convince me that siging the application was like signing the lease and said I had to sign the lease within 5 days or else!
Or else what? The application doesn't even have the right appartment # or the move-out date. In what way is that the same thing as lease? Why would I have to sign a lease if the application is the same thing?
The appartment building looks great, but the fact the landlord is trying to coerce me is a red flag, stay away!
Any experiences or feedback? Is it worth the price?
Is there a good calculator or math equation to determine what sugar will be provided from fruit to better approximate gravity in planning?
Hi guys, I'm a current chemistry student working on a research project of comparing methods of calculating sugar / sucrose content. I've come here as BRIX hydrometers and refractometers are very popular within home brewing but i've run into a few misunderstandings and i'm struggling to find info that makes sense .
If anyone can help me in regards to where I can find more info or provide it themselves it would be greatly appreciated.
What is the accuracy difference between the refractometer and the hydrometer from your personal experiences
Wort correction factor, how do I calculate this and what's its use
Any other variables which impact the reading of the hydrometer or refractometer aside from temp ?
Any other tips or info about these tools or BRIX measurement would be extremely appreciated cheers

Since I can't draw, this is the best way I can visually show it from memory. The GIF was actually from a stickfigure. The idea is the stickfigure is continuously making a mindblowing realization about life. This realization is so big, so earth-shattering that the character is having a panic attack while having this realization [Hence the grabbing of the head]. But it always ends with the stickfigure calming down saying "whew, thank god" (is what I said at the end). I can't remember exactly but the reason why the character is squatting is because the caption said "life is like one big, deep squat" is the analogy being used. Something like "life hurts, until it's the worst pain imaginable" but the pain is then over once you get up(?). I'm not sure, all I know is that "It could be the worst pain imaginable", was apart of the bottom text of the meme
I feel like I'm the only person on earth who remembers this GIF. I saw it when I was like 10-12 and it was when the internet was new. It probably got taken down by it's creators on whatever website I saw it at the time. Today, it would be VERY similar to the "always has been" meme. It's about a character making a brain-shattering realization about something
I started my first batch of mead a couple weeks ago and I thought everything was going great until I checked the brix to see how my ferment was going. My original brix clocked in at 14 and when I went to check it two weeks later it was still at 14. It bubbled like mad for the first few days, and slowed down but is still bubbling and popping the airlock. Is this normal that no change in brix should occur in a full two weeks? I tasted a little of the sample I pulled off and it was sickly sweet and bready with maybe a hint of alcohol bite but nothing noticeable. I know meads are supposed to take a long time to ferment but it seems like there should be at least some change in brix after two weeks of solid bubbling.
I used ~2.13 lb honey, .8 gallons of water (just enough to fill the gallon with the honey), 1 1/3 grams of Lalvin D-47 yeast, 1/2 tsp of yeast energizer, and 1 tsp of yeast nutrient (spread over the first four days). Is there anything wrong with this recipe? Is it too late to fix it?
Thanks for helping out a beginner :)
Hey folks. I bought a Brix GB-BCLE-4105 off a fellow Redditor. It works but the SATA cable was damaged. I've tried searching for the part number, 'JEM 190930', but nothing is coming up anywhere. Does anyone know if another model of SATA cable would fit? It's a ZIF connector, 9mm wide. I would hope, given the simplicity of SATA over its predecessors, that these cables would be much more interchangeable (I won't hold my breath though). I've seen some mentions about using HP Pavillion cables, but the board-end connector does not look right so I'd be hesitant. Any ideas, or am I going to have to break out the soldering iron?
Hi Everyone,
I put together a video on how to measure and calculate degree brix for cocktail syrups. This took me about 40 hours to create from beginning to end.
I don't think anyone in the cocktail community has publicly shared how to calculate the amount of sugar, water, or fruit juice needed to reach a desired brix level for your syrup. I don't even recall Dave Arnold's book, Liquid Intelligence, mentioning how to calculate desired brix level.
Hope everyone finds the video useful for your cocktail program or even use it for fun. Link Below to the Video.
Cheers!

Hello fellow Homelabbers,
Recently i have looked at building a 'relatively' powerefficient cluster, however i would like some hardware advice.
I have looked at the following:
The Brix intrigued me due to it having an 8 core, 2.5 gbe networking and being almost the same price (20-30 euro difference) as the 10th gen NUC. Is the Brix a decent option (compared to the NUC) for buying one node now and expanding in the future to more nodes?
Would there be a compelling option for buying something like a project TinyMiniMicro node if you know you want to replace the memory and ssd for larger capacity variant?
If you have any other recommendation for building a small hypervisor cluster, feel free to leave a comment with your suggestion.
To note, I am in the netherlands to keep that in mind whilst mentioning prices.
As well, a PTMM node is about 400 euros for a 6th gen i5, 8gb ram and a 256 gb ssd (as far as i can find).
Kind regards, u/The_IT_Student
Edit 1: added location.
Edit 2: added some price context for PTMM nodes.
Hi all,
I recently switched to a barebone system (Gigabyte BRIX BRR5-4500) as I wanted a small form factor on my desk to do some web app development on and the occasional Netflix stream.
I've always enjoyed the Ubuntu GNOME workflow for development, so I figured I would ditch Windows for my main system. However, I now run into the problem that the barebone gets significantly warmer doing mundane tasks in Linux than in Windows. Watching a YouTube video on Windows lets the CPU hover around 48-52 C, whereas in Linux it spikes to above 60 C, triggering the fan for a brief moment. I've already updated the BIOS to enable a 'Silent' fan curve, but this only helps to much. The issue is that I don't mind the fan being annoyingly loud (Max 4000 RPM) when I compile or render something, it's the constant spinning up and slowing down immediately again that is bothersome while doing mundane tasks. E.g. opening a new tab, or installing a new package. Reaching 70 C is not uncommon on Ubuntu, doing basic stuff.
Specs:
Do you guys have any idea what I can do to make it run smoother on Linux? It seems like the kernel supports pretty much all features out of the box, so I don't think there's any missing drivers or firmware.
