A list of puns related to "Billiton"
I wanted to touch on a subject that hasn't seem to have gotten a lot of attention. We have been aware of Rim Billiton as a faction since the beginning, and yet we know so little about them. Heck, they're talked about even less than Blacksteel (who have a section on the official site's faction page and RIM doesn't). Yet despite their minuscule presence in the story thus far, what has been shown leads me to believe they are quietly one of the biggest players on the stage that is Terra.
In their shadow since the beginning...
Geopolitically, Rim Billiton is a coporatocracy (i.e. the company and the country are one in the same) relatively isolated with some tenuous ties to Victoria. They're the primary home of the Cautus race, with many of Rhodes Island's own Cautus operators originally being from there, including Amiya. RIM is the premier mining conglomerate on Terra, is heavily invested in Originium and Originium-based products, and has quite the expertise in engineering and manufacturing, including Ch'en's sweet dune buggy.
Always go for Rim Billiton in Risk: Terra Edition
In their first story mention in Darknights Memoir, we learn the landship was found, excavated, and being refurbished by Rim Billiton under the direction of Babel. Such a large undertaking would have certainly needed not only the agreement, but a substantial contribution from RIM. What may have seemingly gone unnoticed is that RIM also likely provided much of the security for transporting the incomplete landship as it traveled northwards to Kazdel. Now all of this raises the question of what did RIM expect to get out of this partnership with Babel? For committing so many resources and personnel, what was offered by Theresa? I find it hard to believe RIM was swayed simply by Theresa's words. Money is possible, and yet somehow I don't think RIM was simply interested in just money. RIM's head honchos must have been curious exactly what the landship was doing buried in their territory and what exactly Theresa wanted to do with it.
What I think is a possibility is that Theresa revealed her goal of finding a cure for Oripathy. It might have been initially laughed at, but what if it was possible? Think about who woul

Just sounding out interest for a side project that the CN PV3 inspired - I'll be forcing myself to backburner it while I actually update my main stories. (and maybe The Other Lies, one day)
Looking at a really limited period between Doc and other combat assets' arrival in Rim Billiton, up to Amiya's retrieval, and return to Kazdel. Maybe a month of in-story time. Will also be touching upon the retrieval of the Rhodes Island landship, but I don't think I'll make that a focus.
Again, tightly plotted - lockdown has let me spam out a rough draft of the last setpiece scene, I'll be trying to limit to maybe ten chapters, ~60-80k words.
Is this a good idea? Any interest at all? Cool scenes/worldbuilding that you'd like to see my take on? Suggestions and comments more than welcome, this is merely a brainworm that may or may not metamorphose into a shiny narrative.
