A list of puns related to "Barium Sulfate"
The new paint made from barium sulfate has been receiving attention for reflecting so much light that it cools down below ambient temperatures: https://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2021/Q2/the-whitest-paint-is-here-and-its-the-coolest.-literally..html
How cold would this get in space where heat is transferred solely through radiation (lets assume we're talking about space around 1 au from the sun)? Could paint like this help reduce the expense and complexity of sunshields like the one on JWST? What about a less extreme goal of using it to reach high-temperature super conductor temps? (only ~110 degrees kelvin rather than ~45 kelvin for JWST).
Is it safe to use barium sulfate and gadolinium together? Does it increase my risk of toxicity? I read that because I suffer from a inflammatory disease and I canβt digest food properly that puts me at risk but Iβm not sure on how true that is.
I attempted to drink the bottles of barium sulfate and couldnβt do it. It was getting to the point where I was gagging and didnβt think I could keep it down. Barely got through a bottle.
Iβve had to drink this twice before and I donβt think Iβve ever gotten past 1.5 bottles. The other place let it slide, but today I only drank 3/4 of a bottle and had to stop. They said they couldnβt let me do the test without drinking at least 2.
The nurse said they were going to go ahead and cancel the appointmentβ¦and then I cried out of embarrassment (which is embarrassing on its own. This shouldnβt be that big of a deal). So the nurse felt bad, sat there and comforted me for a couple minutes. She told me plenty of people couldnβt do it, but maybe she was just being nice.
So I really feel like an idiot right now and i still feel nauseous. I was wondering if anyone of you guys really struggle with this gross test? Or if you know an alternative that doesnβt need this kind of prep?
I read a ton about reflectors.
It appears that white barium sulfate paint is great for reflectors, according to SAGs guide.I found a supplier for this, have experience with art and painting Warhammer figurines but not at that large space. Has anyone documented the process?
Edit: I have some High Quality Titanium Dioxide wall paint here, could I use it on the bucket?
Edit2: I found a post from SAG 3 years ago that aluminium foil is better. I am confused. I want the best solution and have a stable build. I thought about taking spray glue to stick aluminium foil to the bucket if I go this route.
I've had a horrific week for several reasons but one of them was having an upper GI scan with barium sulfate on Thursday. I was a champ through the procedure, but for the next two days my stool was... beige? And then I realized that the chalkiness of it was making it cement itself to the bottom of my toilet bowl. Even breaking it up with my toilet brush it WOULDN'T FLUSH. I was able to um, remove most of it but now my toilet is just clogged and I don't have anything to snake my toilet with.
I guess I should ask my apartment management to send someone along to unclog the toilet, but man it's mortifying AND gross. Why was I not warned about the stool/toilet thing post-test? Has anyone else experienced something similar?
I also found out from that test that my stomach lining is getting damaged, so yay, endoscopy here I come.
