A list of puns related to "Atrophic Arthritis"
Like others, I think long haul Covid may be an autoimmune and/or allergic reaction to the spike protein (or leftover bits of it) binding to ACE2 receptors throughout the body, with inflammation that wreaks havoc. Having been through (likely) both, I think bad vaccine reactions are probably caused by the same thing (and I'm not the only one), so what makes some people have these conditions and others not?
Certain people may be more prone to it than others, and I have a hypothesis (that others have probably also come up with) that you're more likely to get long haul Covid and/or vaccine long haul if you've had autoimmune diseases before, because your system is so fired up from the spike protein it's now attacking itself (again?) Autoantibodies could've been present before Covid/the vaccine and/or could've been created after, leading to even more autoimmune diseases than what might have been present before.
So, I have a poll. Feel free to comment any details, especially since you can't check more than one box in Reddit polls if you need to.
Known autoimmune diseases include Type 1 diabetes, asthma, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), SjΓΆgrenβs syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (Lupus, SLE), Crohnβs disease, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, Gravesβ disease, Hashimotoβs thyroiditis, Addisonβs disease, dermatomyositis, psoriasis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), Guillain-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis (MS), myasthenia gravis, vasculitis, vitiligo, rheumatic fever, alopecia areata, pernicious anemia/atrophic gastritis, immune thrombocytopenic purpura, autoimmune myocarditis, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) / myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), eczema, endometriosis, Kawasaki disease, Lyme disease, MΓ©niΓ¨reβs disease, Raynaudβs syndrome, small fiber sensory neuropathy, and much more.
However, there is increasing evidence that certain mental illnesses are also autoimmune diseases, and/or have strong links to them. These include depression, anorexia and bulimia nervosa, certain psychotic disorders, autism, a [subset of OCD](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.go
... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβm in pain every day. Iβm only 20, and I already feel like a grandmother with how much my joints hurt. No matter what I do, even when I put my palms on the floor while standing on a dictionary, even when I can pull out my shoulder blade and hook my elbow onto the other side of my head, no one in my family believes that I might have a problem. I can hit quadruple bingo with comorbidities. Scoliosis, ADHD, OCD, ASD, hypothyroid, acute arthritis as a child, TMJ-D, born without one of my adult teeth, deviated septum, asthma, chronically low vit D and B, bilateral hip displaysia, receding gums, tinnitus, carpal tunnel. I can easily hit the diagnostic criteria for hEDS (high narrow palate, atrophic scars, excessive stretch marks, arachnodactyly, heel papules, mildly stretchy skin, hyperextended everything, daily joint pain). Other people I know who have EDS tell me that it sounds like I have it. But my family will not acknowledge that anything is wrong with me. They are annoyed when I tell them Iβm in pain. Iβve been called dramatic, told that itβs nothing. The joint problems have taken everything from me. I was a dancer. Ballet was my life. But I had to quit because the feeling of my SI joint crunching in and out as I moved made me tear up in pain. I canβt run or lift weights anymore, both of which were how I tried to cope with losing dance. Even just sitting down can hurt. My family have a history of not believing my medical issues are real until I end up in the hospital. I donβt know what to do. They listen to what I say, and they choose to ignore it. Itβs put me in a really dark place. I feel like I donβt exist. What should I do? Do any of you have similar problems? What did it take for your family to believe you?
Trying to help a relative decide if they should request to get assessed for a connective tissue disorder. They have 1/9 on the Beighton and they do not have flexible skin, but they do have (keeping in mind they are normal weight, healthy diet, normal blood sugar and lipids, no autoimmune disorders):
- severe knee arthritis from age 32
- degenerative discs with bone spurs and nerve damage in lumbar and cervical spine
- atropic scarring, poor/no response to novocaine, can't tolerate adhesives
- lifelong hypotension and now venous insufficiency
- frequent broken blood vessels in fingers and eyes
- some dysautonomia symptoms like no sweating, either POTs or orthostatic hypotension, history of anxiety & panic attacks
- GERD and occassional constipation
- exercise intollerance despite high motivation
- dental crowding
- mitral valve prolapse
- I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of things here
It feels to me like there's a connective tissue issue underlying all of this, and she has a first degree relative who has been diagnosed as hypermobile, and another first degree relative with the same vascular issues and also pretty bad IBS. But maybe not having flexible skin or meeting the Beighton criteria rules out connective tissue disorders? She wants to make sure it's worthwhile before she presses her doctor, who has little understanding of HSDs and has shown no interest in reading literature on it, but just wants to "hear her story", but her symptoms are so scattered (and he's seen them all already, honestly) we're worried he's just going to write her off unless we can make a clear connection for him. Her main goal is to get better spine care and feels that might be possible if she has diagnosis, and as a side benefit that it also might prevent unexpected things in the future like the surgeon who tried to fix her atrophic scar and only made it worse.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
But let me give it a shot.
