A list of puns related to "Appendices"
I've been going through Audible's version of Rob Inglis' reading of the trilogy. It turns out they only included Appendix A at the end of RotK. Three questions:
I'm pretty annoyed at Audible for this, actually. I feel like I've been sold 80% of a book--essentially every version in English includes all Appendices, not just the first one. If the Andy Serkis recording is complete, I might complain to Audible to refund the credit, though I've enjoyed Rob Inglis overall.
I like to read books to completion. If I donโt finish a book, I will usually stop less than a 15% through. Rarely do audiobooks have an audio version of the appendices, but the book I am currently reading does. What are peoples opinions on reading a books appendices?
Edit: the books I read are nonfiction, so there is not as much emphasis on story and plot. Thanks for the responses
Hello, new to Reddit - made my account just to post this question haha.
I recently purchased the LOTR Ultimate Collectors Edition Blu-ray set (come to find out, it does not come with the appendices)
I really want to watch all of the appendices/bonus features, and I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on how I could do this the cheapest way possible? The set I purchased was quite expensive already, though if I need to purchase another set to get the special features I definitely will. Any advice would be welcomed!
I am on the journey of 100% in Shadow of Mordor. I have completed everything in the game from the main missions, to artifacts, and ithildins. But, I have found 30 out of 31 people. I did some research and I'm missing the character "Sawbones" or a type of Uruk. I have looked on youtube and google and haven't found a location or a mission or anything that helps me to find this "Sawbones" and to finish this game.
Helo, could someone just give a quick answer on whether appendices count in the page count?
Oh my god, I feel like every source I find has conflicting information on this. Can someone point me to a set of films that includes the LOTR Appendices?
I just ordered the 31 disc 4k set of all 6 films, but did not realize that did not include much in the way of extras...previously i only owned the original extended release of the original trilogy [green/blue/red colors], and they had amazing appendices. i wonder is there another edition/set that would be better to replace those with? are there any newer/additional appendices? or when the original appendices were brought onto new discs, did they change at all or become updated? or just the same as the original, please?

and which is the best editions that have the hobbit trilogy extras, i would love to hear...
Amazon's license is strictly the Appendices, with some related stuff on a ad-hoc basis from Christopher Tolkien's books that specifically tie in to the appendices.
Does anyone know of an original trilogy extended editions UHD 4K set that includes the appendices? I donโt need the hobbit versions included or blue ray/digital, etc. Hoping to get a great gift for a friend of mine for the holidays. Thanks!

I recently began reading this text, and Iโm wondering if I should read the Appendices before reading the main text. Any suggestions?
(Picked options from the first season, if you pick other do tell who!)
Just bought the 4K Steelbook set (lovely by the way) and I noticed it doesnโt include the Appendices. Neither does the upcoming so called Ultimate Collectorโs Edition release. Or the standard trilogy releases. Do I have to go back to that old Middle Earth set? I really loved the appendices when I had them on DVD and thought Iโd get an upgrade.
Thanks!
And commentaries!
It's a 6 disc extremely detailed documentary about the making of the movies that is even longer than the trilogy itself. It starts with the history of Tolkien, goes through the pre-production of the films, continues through the details of creating the sets, miniatures, costumes, and props in New Zealand, and covers everything else like casting, locations, filming techniques, etc. Absolutely the greatest "behind the scenes" ever created.
On a lark I decided to watch these. I haven't seen them in a decade (seen the movies many times of course) and it's amazing how much detail and depth of material these have. There's more care and content packed into these than in some whole movies.
With home video discs slowly fading out, I don't think there'll ever be something this exhaustive ever done again as a companion to a film.
Hello! I have read Lord of the Rings a few times and I was to read the Silmarillion. I was wondering if it would be helpful for my understanding to read the appendices before I read the Silmarillion, or if I can skip them. Thank you!
From the difference in runtimes, it seems like it does, but I donโt know.
Does it include them or not?
