A list of puns related to "Acacia Dealbata"
Silver Wattle, originating in Australia, is particularly widespread in the Mediterranean countries as well as in the regions characterized by mild winters. Its popularity owes to its light and attractive foliage, as well as to its rich, impressive and exceptionally fragrant flowering, which in the hot climates may appear from the beginning of February - a period in which few plants blossom. http://kalliergeia.com/en/silver-wattle-acacia-dealbata/
Hey Candle Folk
Newbie here ππΌββοΈ Iβve been slowly teaching myself about fragrance blending for candle making for the past couple of months and Iβm a bit confused about the use of the word synthetic.
I just came across a brand who mention that their USP is that they use zero synthetic ingredients and as such they list them all for transparency.
But arenβt these some synthetic aroma chemicals on their ingredient list below (e.g., Anisaldehyde, 3-Hexenol)? Iβm confused!
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, hydrogenated, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, hydrogenated, Palm Oil, hydrogenated, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Linalool, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Limonene, Anisaldehyde, 3-Hexenol, Styrax oil, Oriental, Ionone, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract & Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ferula Galbaniflua (Galbanum) Resin Oil, Piperonal, Anethole, Hexyl Acetate, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Citrus Reticulata Leaf Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Oil, Eugenol, Dimethyl Heptenal, Gamma-Decalactone, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Peel Extract, Nerolidol, Viola Odorata Leaf Extract, Acacia dealbata flower extract
Background
I live in an area with very hard water (Minneapolis), and itβs definitely been tough on my hair. I had done the Malibu C hard water treatment packets in the past, and found them helpful. My tap water pH is 9 (!!!!! yes, nine!) and contains an average of 3.5 β 4.0ppm of chlorine (not sure how that stacks up).
I have caucasian 2a wavy-ish hair that is very fine and splits easily and is very prone to frizz if I donβt use the right products. It's virgin but damages easily. I almost never blow dry it, and flat iron it occasionally - 1x a week at most. Despite being fine textured, it can take wayyy more product than you would expect.
^(Extra: I was previously using the Cantu shampoo and conditioner, doing a CGM-ish routine, but have decided to switch it up my hair care this year. I think the shampoo caused buildup over time, despite me not using silicones, because I did a single wash with Malibu clarifying shampoo and swimmers treatment and holy hell did it make my hair so much lighter and bouncier! So Iβve decided to stop the CGM and look for a better routine for my hair. (That means anything goes as far as ingredients.)
The Problem
I got the Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Shampoo & Conditioner, thinking it would be the answer to all my lifeβs problems. I desperately wanted them to work for me, but I'm starting to realize that they are a total bust. :(
Iβve used them for 1.5 months and I wash my hair 1-2x a week. As soon as I started using them, my hair became noticeably more frizzy, and over time it seems to be getting worse, not better. My hair hasnβt been this frizzy since I had a stint living in a very humid island climate. The conditioner also doesnβt feel particularly conditioning to me.
At this point Iβm kind of at a loss on what to do, since I donβt have a go-to shampoo/conditioner to go back to. Iβm trying to figure out what the problem is so that I know what direction to go in with my next product.
Theories
I also tried HealthySexyHair Moisturizing Conditioner for one use, and that didnβt help the frizz. It was about the same. I see they both have glycerin prominently on the list. Could that be it? Another hypothesis I have is the shampoo may be too harsh on my hair, even though itβs supposed to be βprotectiveβ according to the manufacturer, and the conditioner isnβt moisturizing conditioning enough to combat the harshness. The pH of the Malibu C shampoo is supposedly 6.0-6.8, but I got that info from
Hello! Looking for opinions please: I'm redoing my front garden (5m x5m in front of 1930s terrace houses, coastal, West facing) and my plan is to have a phillyrea augustifolia hedge, with an acacia dealbata (mimosa) out front. The plan is to keep the mimosa trim, 4m ish in height. There's a possibility it might stay over next doors front garden slightly in a few years if it bushes out, but should be 80% over my garden and the pavement even at a fairly wide growth. Their garden isn't well used or maintained. Can you foresee any issues here with the planting, and am I being inconsiderate if I plant it? Thanks!
The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.
I would have a daughter
But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"
.
.
.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
You officially hit rock bottom
No it doesn't.
And then you will all be sorry.
Now itβs syncing.
He replied, "Well, stop going to those places then!"
She said how do you know he was headed to work?
I will find you. You have my Word.
