A list of puns related to "Yaqui language"
...Mandarin, German, Kurdish, Uyghur, Portuguese...
I'm currently learning some Kanien'keha:ka (Mohawk) and I came across these videos while scrolling on Pinterest. The channel is called ILoveLanguages, he makes videos on languages with cute little characters. I enjoy reading about the Haudenosaunee so I thought I'd listen to it. There's one for Scots Gaelic which I know a bit of and it's accurate. I like the channel a lot, shows the basic phrases and sound quickly and easily. Hopefully this will allow for more people to discover the language and culture.

Do your worst!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
Theyβre on standbi
Pilot on me!!
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
I won't be doing that today!
You take away their little brooms
This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Long story short, I grew up being told I was Mexican/Hispanic and Italian. I always ached for connection for both but my dad, who I had no contact with, is mexican so that's what I struggled with most. Confused about what to put down on census and forms, would go back and forth between white and Mexican. Finally find out more info about dad's side of family and find out we are native Mexican, Yaqui. I had been told something similar growing up a few times but overall I had no info.
Been trying to reconnect
The thing is, to 99.9 percent of people I look white on the spot. I don't think I do bc I never identified as white. I identified with what I was told, Mexican and Italian. But I never used white. I look like my dad and my dad looks like a lot of Yaqui men, so I look Yaqui just with white skin. And that's what I see, but others don't
I grew up "white", very shy and introverted. Hated my skin color bc I didn't look what mexicans usually looked like, but didn't understand exactly why I hated being so pale Then leaned into it and made my skin even paler with makeup. Then hated it again.
I've never experience racism
But I have always longed to know about my family, Italian and Mexican. I identify now as mixed white and native (for ease)
And I don't support Blood quantum, but I still can't help but not feel native enough at 1/8th.
I am trying to connect by learning our language and I try to help in the community, which all I can do is share info, and donate.
but sometimes it feels so fake. it feels like a performance like I'm trying to convince people
And this feeling comes and goes but rn I've been really feeling it.
I am extremely shy, have anxiety, and introverted. But I still think "if I was really native, if it was important enough, I would just contact the tribe and talk to people. I would join the classes. I would get more involved."
it is important! I feel so small. like a child in a crowd of giants. and no amount of welcoming in the community I've gotten can dissipate this feeling.
I say white native and I remind people of my blood quantum because I feel like I have to promise I know I'm not "full native" that I know my place in the community
I know my place in the community but I don't want to feel like I have to wear a sign that signifies, and that's all on me it's my own brain that's doing it.
I'm sick of donating money and feeling like I'm buying off Yaqui embracement or native approval in general. and again it's all in my head.

So that I could frequently say, "I am going to walk 5 miles now."
Edit: My most popular post on Reddit! π Thank you for the awards.
Me grabbing a soda from my (what I thought was) half full 12pk...
Notices there's only 2;
Me: "Awe man... This is a damn bird box!" Her: "What the hell does that mean?!" Me: (Pulls both cans out & shows them to her) "It's only got Toucans."
I'm not ashamed to admit the look on her face was glorious.
I was just sitting there doing nothing.
