Even when they're cropped, you can tell which is which.
Full-page ads are used to promote big episodes, but just because an ad is small doesn't mean the episode is unimportant. The first episode of the Trunks arc was a 1/8-page ad because they were being extremely secretive about the beginning of that arc; there were no Animedia or Animage ads that month at all. That's the only time that has ever happened in Super's run; we always get one or the other, and usually both.

This is flat-out how the herb "basil" is written in Japanese, without any sort of manipulation. Still, expect lots of Kyabe-esque fun as dumb people insist on pointlessly calling him "Bajiru" or "Bajil"

ラベンダ/Rabenda
A pun on ラベンダー/rabendā, another culinary herb. Note that the final vowel is shortened, changing it from an "er" sound to a simple "a" sound. This is, you may recall, the exact same sort of difference between "freezer" and the name of that short guy who used to boss Vegeta around.

(Tall one with scarf)
ベルガモ/Berugamo
A pun on bergamot (in Japanese ベルガモット/berugamotto), a type of orange used to flavor tea and whatnot. Note how the character's name removes the "t" sound at the end.
