A list of puns related to "War of the League of Cambrai"
Prelude:
April 1509, a French army under the command of Louis XII invaded Venetian territory. To oppose the advance, Venice amassed a mercenary army near Bergamo, commanded by the Orsini cousins.
By May, Louis had crossed the Adda River at ther Orsini cousins (Alviano and Pitigliano) disagreed on how to deal with Louis. They decided to move south, despite Alviano's will to attack the French troops.
Battle:
On 14 May, as the Venetian army moved south, Alviano's rearguard, commanded by Piero del Monte and Saccoccio da Spoleto, was attacked by a French detachment under the Charles II d'Amboise, who had massed his troops around the village of Agnadello.
Alviano, who was at Pandino, hurried back to position his forces of ~8,000 on a ridge overlooking some vineyards.
Charles II (Govenor of Milan) attempted to attack, first with cavalry and then with Swiss pikemen, but the French were forced to march up a hillside crossed with irrigation ditches, which were soon filled with mud from the pouring rain, they were unable to initially breach the Venetian lines.
Pitigliano refused to come to the aid of the advance guard, effectively dooming Alviano's men. The Venetian levies suffered heavy losses during the battle, and Alviano's own infantry unit, from Brisighella, was almost annihilated. The advance guard was eventually defeated and Alviano himself was captured.
Pitigliano managed to retreat with the main body of men at arms, but most of the rest of the army broke and fled. The French captured 36 guns, a sign of the size of their victory.
Aftermath:
In the aftermath of this defeat the Republic rapidly withdrew from Bergamo, Brescia, Crema and Cremona, all of which were taken by the French. They evacuated their possessions in the Romagna, which were taken over by the Pope.
During the resulting War of the Holy League (1510-1514) the Venetians were able to regain many of their losses of 1509, although the Republic never quite regained the position of power it had held before the battle.

I just cannot work up a desire to see this movie. The only interest I have is to see how they potentially ruin Lando and/or cast away others weβve known and loved for decades, and Papa Palpatine chewing up every scene heβs in (about fucking time someone in this trilogy does).
Before I go into detail on why I think itβs possible The Rise of Skywalker will experience a drop in box office from The Last Jedi, I just want to say that I didnβt always feel that way. Back when the first trailer came out, I was pretty optimistic about its box office considering itβs supposed to be the conclusion of the Skywalker saga, and I even thought that it has a chance at surpassing Avatar domestically and Jurassic World worldwide best-case scenario. But after looking into the damage The Last Jedi did to the Star Wars brand, Iβve been feeling pessimistic about The Rise of Skywalkerβs box office for a while now.
After since The Last Jedi came out and divided, if not alienated the Star Wars fandom, the franchise hasnβt been doing so good. With low toy sales, Solo and Galaxyβs Edge flopping, and other possible issues, itβs really not looking good for The Rise of Skywalker. Along with the lack of excitement for what is supposed to be the conclusion of the Skywalker saga, itβs looking like the film is gonna get a smaller opening weekend than The Last Jedi.
If The Rise of Skywalker was to get a drop in box office from The Last Jedi similar to what Justice League got from BvS, it would end up only making around $123 million in its domestic opening weekend, $430 million domestically, and $1.002 billion worldwide. While those numbers would be good for any other film, theyβre really underwhelming for whatβs supposed to be the conclusion of the Skywalker saga.
While I might be off with my numbers, I still think itβs possible that The Rise of Skywalker will make less than The Last Jedi. Either way, the filmβs fan reception will determine not only its box office, but the future of Star Wars in film. And even if the fan reception does turn out bad, The Rise of Skywalker should still be able to make at least a billion, right?
Btw, that $666M does not include overseas Monday gross.
EDIT: It's global total after 6 days of release is $725.5M
H e l l o, I am here to see If my knowledge on the book "The Art of War" written by Sun Tzu, a legendary chinese general of the three kingdoms period could be helpful for a newbie like me and others.
This is translated from my copy in spanish and I will select some fragments and try to apply in the Rift.
"If ignorant that the army should not advance orders an advance or orders an retreat when the army should not retreat" This could be used for example when attacking the towers and attacking a tower when there's a strong CC champion that lures you into attacking him and CC you in the tower's range and you get the oof
"Who knows when to fight and when not, will win" This is important, especially for a junglers(I am a Top-Jungle main by the way) who knows to when to start a trade, gank, etc. And when not can take advantage and easily win, example not start a trade with a Garen with his W activated ir a Darius with maxium passive and ganking a enemy that already used his flash and is under 50% health
"Who knows how to fight according to his enemies strengh will be victorious" Definitively the most important tip, knowing how to fight against a enemy taking in mind things like abilities, stats, play style, items and other things is not easy, but If you can you can say GG
"Who is well prepared and waits for a enemy that is not will be victorious" Ganking when the enemy less excepts and after he used all of his abilities is a prime example of this.
Finally the last and one of the most important "Know your enemy and know yourself and in 100 battles you will never be beate "
I am definitively not the first person to try to apply "The Art of War" and definitively not the most succesful but I hope that those tips are useful for everyone, I know theres is much more useful quotes from the book but those are that are easier to found and more general to everyone who plays LoL.
Hope you all the best! :)
I know that there are biger rewards in higher league but I thought that we will be paired with oponents from same league now. But gues what... we have oponent from higher league and we might drop even lower if we loose again... What kind of garbage mechanic is that?

The 1930s and 40s were a tumultuous time for the United States. As the country struggled through the Great Depression and World War II, the sports world saw its share of bizarre stories. One in particular stands out: Joe Savoldi, perhaps the most interesting athlete of the era. The Italian native was not only a star college football running back, but he would go on to have a strange career at the pro level, followed by a successful run as a pro wrestler.
While football players-turned-pro wrestlers are not uncommon, Savoldi had more in store as the U.S. entered the war. Once that happened, he returned to Italy... as a secret agent.
Notre Dame: The Rise and Fall of Jumping Joe
Born in Milan, Savoldi and his family moved to the United States when he was 13. In high school, he was introduced to football. While he proved to be a very physical fullback, he was still very inexperienced in the sport. During his sophomore year at Notre Dame, he was relegated to the reserve team to help him study Knute Rockne's offense.^[1]
In 1929, he finally cracked the main roster and established himself as one of the Fighting Irish's top players. Nicknamed Jumping Joe, the fullback was part of a dominant backfield that led the team to undefeated records in 1929 and 1930; during the latter season, Savoldi scored on a 97-yard touchdown run against SMU and recorded a hat trick against Navy.^[1]
Despite his success, however, his time at Notre Dame was cut short with just three games left in the 1930 season.^[2] A South Bend judge revealed he had overseen a marriage between Savoldi and Audrey Koehler in 1929; the marriage had been kept secret, but word got out when Savoldi fired for divorce. As such marriages broke school rules, he was forced to leave the team.^[3]
NFL: The Packers and the Bears
With Savoldi no longer on the Notre Dame roster, the Packers were quick to sign him, but were reminded of an NFL rule that prohibited teams from adding college players whose graduating class had not yet β well β graduated; Savoldi's class was set to graduate in June 1931. As a result, the Packers withdrew their offer.^[4]
Of all teams that could pounce on the opportunity to sign Savoldi anyway, it had to be the Bears. Rivalries are fun, aren't they? The Packers understandably protested, while Bears owners George Halas and Dutch Sternaman argued their team

As the title says.
Steppenwolf has taken the Mother Box from Themyscira and Queen Hippolyta lights the beacon, warning Diana of the invasion. Minutes after the beacon is lit, however, a radiant column of light parts the clouds above the island and a stranger with a giant hammer/axe and shiny black armor appears before the Queen. After a long talk between the two reveals that DCEUβs heroes have all disintegrated into clouds of ash, somehow bringing Thor to this new universe in the process, the Queen tells him about Steppenwolf and his failed invasion 5000 years prior, the Parademons, and the power of the Mother Boxes. Armed with knowledge, can Thor successfully solo the events of Justice League?
Is Wonder Woman Bloodlines in same universe as the New 52 Animated Movies aka Justice League War/Death of Superman universe?
