In 1941, one of the most influential articles on the procedure, {the lobotomy} titled “Turning the Mind Inside Out,” appeared in the Saturday Evening Post. The article was written by Waldemar Kaempffert, who was also an editor at the New York Times: “There must be at least two hundred men and women in the United States who have had worries, persecution complexes, suicidal intentions, obsessions, indecisiveness, and nervous tensions literally cut out of their minds with a knife by a new operation on the brain.” Walter Freeman later said that without the press, lobotomies would never have been so widely accepted.”

1. Freeman 451 BLF in S45VN, with black aluminum handles and black G10 inlay. I bought this new from Freeman's website and immediately shipped it off to BGM Knives for a satin hollow regrind. It's a lot thinner behind the edge now and cuts substantially better than before. I've also installed Skiff bearings. I've carried it a bit and sharpened it since it was reground, but it has not been used much otherwise. There's maybe one or two tiny marks on the aluminum scales. There's a scratch on the show side of the blade that I've done my best to take a picture of; not sure how that got there, but it's not bad and could probably be refinished with scotchbrite. Lockup is solid, action is free swinging, and there is no side to side play. Comes with original box. Asking $240 OBO.
2. Spyderco PM2 in CPM M4 with burgundy paper (I think?) micarta scales. I built this by performing a blade swap; I recently picked up the new Jungle Wear PM2 in M4 and swapped the brand new CPM M4 blade into my existing CPM Rex 45 PM2 handle with what I'm pretty sure are burgundy paper micarta scales. As such, this is a parts build and needs some tuning and tweaking. Lockup is perfect but the centering is a little off and the action is not free swinging. It is still perfectly functional and will make an amazing user blade, but it's not as glamorous as a really nicely dialed-in PM2. It might wear in and get better or someone can adjust it and tweak the fitment to work better, but I'm not going to mess with it further. Outfitted with titanium deep carry clip. Comes with a Spyderco box and papers for the Jungle Wear PM2. Asking $130 OBO. Sold for $120.
3. Benchmade Presidio II in S30V and aluminum scales. I reprofiled this one to 15 dps and then convexed it to thin it out and make it cut a bit better. It's not perfect but it looks pretty decent IMO. Lockup, centering, and action are all fantastic. I've carried, used, and sharpened it, but like with all my knives I've taken great care of it. There aren't many marks on the scales or clip. I won't be upset if this one doesn't sell, but I figured I'd list
