With the general consensus being, this season at a bare minimum didn't live up to what we've had in the past-and that the Wagner episodes were fantastic (which IMO they were despite the narration or loss of focus with the femicide side quest), the man should've just directed the entire season... His episodes were the only one's where it felt like it was under Eric Newman's (original creator that dropped out for S3) control, it 'felt like Narcos' in a sense, whereas the rest of it largely felt like a Telenovela/Soap Opera; it really sucks cause this season definitely had the makings of a varsity ath-I mean the potential to be fantastic (outside the narration/side quest and heavy lathering of fiction this time around), had the narration been Walt (or even Calderoni who I felt would've been an AMAZING narrator for this-and should've been included in general) and this femicide side quest been the doings of the cartel/actually lead somewhere (and had we hear at least one Chalino Sanchez song) the season would at least earn a B+.
Just wanna say that I’m a little late to the party and just now finished season 3. Holy crap that was one of the most well done shout-out scenes I’ve seen. If this is the end for Narcos : Mexico I hope we at least get to see Wagner direct more episodes or movies like this in the future. It’s up there with some of the scenes from City of God, Elite Squad, and Miss Bala. What I like about the narco genre - especially from Mexico, Colombia and Brazil is that the shootout scenes are much more realistic and well done than your average Hollywood movie.

The nightclub and airport shootouts were some of the best highlights of the season (both directed by him)
They should do a season 4 of Narcos Mexico with Wagner as the director god dam the two episode of the season that he made (3-4) were the best hands down the shootout at the Puerto Vallarta and the one at the Guadalajara airport were so well done!!! They have so much more content with los zetas and mencho hope they reconsider their statement that they were gonna stop it from here!
