A list of puns related to "Venmo"

Back in September I received a text from Venmo saying there was a password change request. Since I hadnβt made the request, I logged into my account and saw that a bunch of money was transferred into my Venmo account from some business I didnβt recognize and then transferred out into my bank account. I reported the hacking to Venmo and changed all of my passwords and such. Turns out someone had hacked my account and created a business profile attached to my personal one. This fake business account then received money from a different fake account. Not sure if they had meant to transfer that money into my bank account. I asked Venmo support what to do with the money and they said to just transfer it back into my Venmo. No other instructions and no further news on where this money came from. They seem totally unconcerned as to where this money came from. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Is there a time limit before the money is safe to claim for myself? It has just been sitting in my Venmo for months. No one has contacted me about it. Iβd feel bad if it had been a mistaken transfer from an stranger but this was definitely from a hacker who probably scammed someone else.
a couple weeks ago I(19f) went on a tindr date with a guy who I knew from hs. We were mutual acquaintances before this, and when we matched on tindr we agreed to meet up.
I picked him up at 7 & we went and got some food, after that we drove to some secluded place so we could talk with extra privacy(leave it up to the imagination). Anyway, around 10:30 he starts to complain about his stomach hurting. I ask him if he wants to leave and he says no and kind of blows it off for a little bit. Around 11 he says he really needs to use the bathroom. I wasn't sure what to do because we were in a very secluded area, and I wasn't familiar with. He tells me that there is a gas station about 15 minutes away from us and asks me to "step on it" .
I leave and drive as fast as I can, but it's very dark & I don't know my way around, and he is becoming more frantic(visibly sweating, breathing heavy.) At one point I ask if I should pull over because going in the woods is better than nothing, but he swears he can make it. Unfortunately, he misses telling me to take a turn somewhere and we get lost and I have to turn around and it's still probably like 10 more minutes according to him. Then he gets very pale and yells at me to pull over, and I stop as fast as I can, but when I do he doesn't get out of the car. He just sits, very resigned. At that point I understood it was too late.
We both sat there in silence for a little bit. I really wasn't sure what to say to make him feel better, and I was also feeling a little sick from the whole thing(the smell). Eventually I just offered to take him home and tried to act nonchalant. He agreed so I drove us home. He also tells me that he will reimburse me for getting my car cleaned. I felt bad, because of course it wasn't his fault, accidents happen so I offered to split the cost 50/50 and we never talk about again. I also told him, if he wants, I'd like to try a second date since this one turned out so...yeah. He thanked me and we parted ways.
I got my car detailed and sent him a text letting him know everything went well but I didn't get a response. I waited for another week and tried texting him again like "hey, did you see my text?" and again he didn't respond. I went on tindr to try and message him there, but I saw he had unmatched me. So it was pretty clear after that he had ghosted me.
I was pretty pissed ngl, cuz I thought I was chill about the whole situation. It's cool if he didn't want to see me again, but he coul

I was wondering everyoneβs thoughts on this. I know many many people who are uninstalling PayPal Venmo cashapp etc due to the issues with the 600$ annual and above getting flagged by the IRS.
Itβs just more bullshit to worry about when we already arenβt paid in gold bars we have to count our coin.
My thoughts are what will this do to these companies and their earnings.
Just figured maybe some of you who work in the financial field would have better insight than myself.
(Update Edit:) So it seems if you use Venmo for instance as a business transaction vs friend or family transaction then this is essentially not designed to help you thatβs for sure.
When you click send it asks if you want business protection or to make a business profile and you selected yes, this would imply to you.
My worry is how are they going to find out? Do they just audit you and find out that way, then you have to go about writing a report and proving it, all while getting the receiver involved. Or do they find out before hand by Venmo not just giving us all up in one massive batch of leads.
Hi everyone, it's your girl u/withaining here again! Per tradition, I'm trying to do this a monthly thing, and it's the start of a new year so here's another $100 to 1 person in need! No strings attached as long as you can accept payment in one of the above 3 methods (Venmo, PayPal or Amazon gift card). Normal rules of this subreddit applied so please don't DM me privately.
2021 was probably a rough year for a lot of people so let's start 2022 right! You just need to comment down below what you would use the money for and I'll pick a random lucky winner by tomorrow!
Update: Thank you everyone for applying! I really wish I could help you all but unfortunately I'm not rich enough to do that yet... One day though, one day. Anyway I have to close the offer now as I have picked u/disispatrick to be the winner, and I try to go above the budget and pick another person u/CornGobblerz. Funds have been sent to both. If you didn't get pick today, please look out next month as I plan to do another giveaway in February! Good luck, take care and may 2022 be better for you all!!!

I sent him 55 (expecting a bit of a fee) he received 55β¦ not a drop in fees at this point. Then he went to send me back the 55 and I received 54.75. Literally a 50 cent ($.50) fee!!
This opened my eyes to realize in the future when crypto and nfts become more popular and adopted by the masses, this could be the primary way people will send and receive currency from eachother!
Iβm beyond excited to see what loopring does next!! To the future π» cheers
I am a high school student and live with my family. I was doing some homework on the patio table outside and I was the only one home.
I went inside to refill my water bottle and came back out to see my laptop on the ground, and my neighbors kid running around the deck. The neighbor lives next door in a different house, we don't have a shared yard, so I was not expecting his kid coming around.
I tried to catch her and ask what had happened to the laptop and she ran away to her own house and wouldn't talk to me
I went home and checked on the ring camera and saw a video of my neighbors kid running into the yard, running under the table, pushing up on the underside of the table causing everything on it to tilt and slide to the ground, and running away, in the under a minute I'd been inside.
I downloaded the video to my phone and went to the neighbors house to ask him for money to replace the laptop.
I decided to ask for $1700 for the laptop and $159 for the lost time that I spent doing the homework that I'd have to redo. I valued my lost time at the amount I'm paid at work since I'd likely have to skip a couple shifts at work to redo the assignment.
I went to the neighbors house and he said he wasn't gonna pay because I shouldn't have left the laptop out and anything could have happened like rain or something.
I said it was a clear day and I only went inside for a minute. Anyway "anything" didn't happen, I had a video of his kid 'happening' to my laptop and since she was too little to pay for it herself he had to as her dad. He said no.
Now this might be petty but I have his Venmo because my family and his family did a barbecue block party thing and I had to pay him for a share of the shopping.
So every day I've sent a $1859 request to him and he keeps declining it.
I told my family and they think I shouldn't of left out the laptop and that I was harassing him doing that and they will replace it for me. They would use some of my college fund money.
But I feel like they shouldn't have to pay. Plus I'll need that college fund for college!
So I've kept venmo requesting him and also posted the video from the camera on the community Facebook saying "Hey any advice here? I had a neighors kid come to my house and break something expensive, on camera. Are they supposed to pay and how can I do that? The parents have been refusing to pay a bunch of times. Is there some home owner insurance to help? Sorry for dumb questions, I'm a high schooler and

This will likely take many by surprise for common transactions even down to a garage sale level.
I'm from Ghana, an African country where the government is trying to impose an e-levy which would be a 1.75% charge on all electronic transactions covering mobile money payments, bank transfers, merchant payments, and inward remittances to be borne by the sender except inward remittances, which will be borne by the recipient.
*The object of this Bill is to impose a levy to be known as the Electronic Transfer Levy and to provide for related matters. Out of about 18 million potential taxpayers only 2.4 million persons (approximately 8% of the total population) were registered as personal income tax payers as at August, 2021: 45,109 entities were registered as corporate taxpayers while 54,364 persons were registered as self-employed taxpayers. Recent economic data further suggests that the overall tax to GDP for SSA in 2018 was 16.5%, while the tax to GDP for Ghana in 2019 was estimated to be 12.2% which is one of the lowest among our peer middle income countries. Digital transactions have experienced steady growth over the past five years. Between 2017 to 2021, mobile money transactions increased from Ghc155million to 986million in Ghana. More importantly, the convenience of the platform has created efficiencies and enhanced productivity. This expansion in mobile money transactions has supported growth in e-commerce, social media shopping and the use of digital payments. This expansion, while positive for financial inclusion and economic growth, also presents an opportunity to extend government's ability to mobilise tax revenue. Digital payment systems are currently largely untaxed, and while the industry grows, several government tax revenue sources are experiencing a decline in growth. Revenue sources like VAT and NI-IIL are directly impacted by the increasing use of digital payment systems which facilitate alternative shopping avenues that do not apply the said taxes. Government is determined to take the needed steps to steadily improve on domestic resources mobilization and strengthen GRAS competence in electronic tax handles without compromising its pro-poor interventions. The Levy is a key mechanism that the Government of Ghana will use to help ensure that more Ghanaians and the public contribute their fair share towards the development of our country. It will be used to tackle the intractable problems of rising debt, high youth unemployment, inadequate
... keep reading on reddit β‘Background: I currently have Omicron so Iβm staying home. I donβt use DoorDash super regularly, so unfamiliar with the etiquette.
What happened: I ordered a meal for lunch today as Iβm stuck in bed with Covid. The restaurant was about a mile from my house (not fast food because Iβve heard those lines are awful for drivers) and I tipped $10 through the app. Next thing I know, I receive a message from my driver asking for more money. I donβt know if the driver is able to see the tip amount upfront, but I thought this was strange because I already tipped more than double what DoorDash recommended. I gave him an extra $10 because I hate confrontation, but now I feel like I was scammed out of $20 for a really easy trip.
Is it normal for DoorDash drivers to ask for tips through Venmo?
Edit: just ordered dinner from a local pizza place and got the SAME DASHER! He just sent me a message that says βHey my car almost out of gas so probably wonβt make it to you. My Venmo is (venmo username) if you have any cash it would really help i just paid rent and for my kid christmasβ. I took everyoneβs advice and told him that I had already tipped $15 through the app, but he says he needs it NOW. Iβm going to report, but it gives me an icky feeling. Shoutout to you, James, I feel like an asshole.
Edit 2 (because people are asking): Yes, I did report him. I decided to call Customer Support instead of using the chat feature because talking is honestly easier for me. They ended up refunding the entire price of both orders with tip. Support lady told me that it would be coming out of his check, but not sure if thatβs true. Hopefully he will get in some sort of trouble for it.
Any commissioners here use venmo and hear about them taking the money? This concerns me for next year.
