I'm learning Turkish (yes because of Ertugrul) and I'm at the point where I can start writing basic sentences and practice reading them to myself. Is there a way to make letters like Δ± and ΓΆ and ΓΌ appear in Word by typing? Or do I need to find a Turkish USB keyboard? Would that even be compatible with an American computer?
I can't find her name
Edit: Thank you for everyoneβs input! Negative or positive, it was very helpful! Glad to have found this community π
So, to make a long story short, My Husband and his family are Armenian from Turkey but they have lived in the United States for over 50 years. My mother-in-law and father-in-law have ran successful companies here in America and have planted their feet here. My husband and I just welcomed our first child which is a boy. My mother-in-law refuses to speak English to me or the baby. She will only speak Armenian (which I believe she speaks eastern dialect) and it is hard to learn or understand. Her and my husband just speak Armenian/Turkish to each other meanwhile my son and I just sit there looking stupid. My son is now 18m old and her only speaking Armenian is starting to bug me. Neither one of us understand her and what she is saying. and it is also starting to confuse my son and I'm noticing he is starting to have speech delay because of the double language. He doesn't understand her and I can tell he is kind of scared for me to leave him with her. I have taken classes to try to speak to her but her dialect is half Armenian half Turkish and it is insanely hard to understand her. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Am I being dramatic? I don't mind my son learning Armenian but her language isn't a language and it's confusing my son. Also, she is completely helpless and can't do anything without my husband. Pay her own bills, drive, make a maintenance request for her apt. She always acts like she's always sick and dying and she's not. Her Dr. tells her it's all in her head. I am half Armenian so I am aware of the culture aspect but my side of the Armenian family is not like that at all.
I have tried talking to my husband about this but he doesn't think any of it is an issue.
any thoughts? Is this normal for an Armenian Mother to act? I am totally not trying to disrespect her, or the culture whatsoever. Just wondering if this is really her "culture" or if she's just being a pain in the ass. None of my Armenian friends are from Turkey. All from Armenia. Thank you.
Haha hello, I met the most amazing woman ever and she is from Turkey, and while her english is about a 5/10 I would like to meet her at her level and learn Turkish with the possibility of learning her dialect. She is from Eskiehir if that helps. Thanks again :)
