Turbo fuel Vs fuel and coal power generators

Hey. Friend and I just unlocked turbo fuel (compact coal+fuel) and was trying to work out if it really is better then just keep fuel and coal sperate.

Firstly, from what I see compact coal, being 5 coal per, doesn't equal 5 coals worth of power (burn time). So that doesn't seem worth making to burn in coal generators.

Then 6 fuel and 4 compact coal just seems like a whole lot of burn time compared to 4 turbo fuel.

Plus all the power used to make compact coal and to convert the fuel into turbo fuel.

I'm not very good at "mathing" things out but to my limited understanding. I can't see how its worth it.

Anyone have a simple explanation for my primitive brain. Thanks.

What is the best fuel power plant in update 4? I have heard that it is now better to use normal fuel instead of turbo fuel to power the generators?

I was planning on building this powerplant in my save, as I usualy do, but from stuff I have heard recently I have a strong feeling that it is very outdated.

I belive that it has something to do with blenders, that are able to make the power plant way more efficient?

Does anyone know of the manufacturing steps to create the most efficient fuel power plant both with access to blenders, and without? Since I currently don't have them unlocked, but assumably would want to upgrade to a better system whenever I get access to them.

Steam turbo generators

Ive been reading “Marine auxiliary equipment” and “introduction to marine engineering” in preparation for school in Sept. The books have a lot of pages dedicated to Steam powered fixtures and mention that things like Steam turbo generators may be utilized on diesel ships which scavenge heat from the main engine exhaust to create steam. Im curious how common it is to see steam used for powering machinery outside of the basic HVAC and fuel,oil,coolant water heaters? Also how common are steam powered ships in general these days out side of maybe some LNG ships and the Navy ?

Had the air filter ice over on a generator that was under load a few years back..... found this when I was making the rounds. Took it off line and removed the filter but kept the unit on idle to cool slowly. It was back on line that evening. Still have a spare turbo on the shelve.

Fuel Generator consumption of Turbo Fuel

I have looked all over thru patch notes and Q&A and could not find but one reference to fuel Gen using less " Regular " fuel it was reduced to 12 from 15 But I can not find any change noted for turbo fuel... can anyone please give me a number for turbo fuel burn per min?

My New (full scale) turbo fuel manufacturing plant ~8 hours to build from scratch an additional hour to jump start some emergency fuel generators. Turns out trying to jumpstart a 5GW consuming facility with a 3.5GW power grid doesn't work so good.

How am I suppost to connect the pipes of my refineries that produce turbo fuel to be able to power a bunch of fuel generators?

i have followed this tutorial https://youtu.be/Jpq6skTLziU, although i find the tutorial very hard to follow since they barely explain anything in how the logistics function.

So right now I have 28 refineries (2 on 33%) making turbofuel with the recipie

6 fuel + 4 compacted coal = 5 turbofuel (18.75/min)

In the video he never expains how he is able to split all of that into 111 fuel generators! did he run each individual refinery to their own line of fuel generators without linking them to other refinery lines? how many did he power with one refinery?
