Hope everyone's new year is off to a rad start!

Did this last year on my old account, and it was pretty well received, so I figured I'd follow-up with a best-of-the-year list for 2021. This is not my Spotify most played. I actually personally and carefully curated this list over the past year. Why 116 tracks? Just because I really wanted to ensure sufficient representation of the all the vibes I enjoy, and so I needed a littttllleee more wiggle room than 100 songs. Widdled down as much as I could while still being able to be proud of this list.

I have quite an eclectic taste in music. After being in the scene for over a decade now, I have refined my ear and have truly gotten to the point of #fuckgenres lol. Good music is good music, almost all the subgenres of electronic music have so much to offer.

So to be in this list, there were 2 requirements:

#Introduction

There are more local multiplayer games than ever, but the majority are indie games overshadowed by AAA titles. The PS4 received about 60 new games a month in 2020 – 28% of which included local multiplayer – but most people only hear about a handful of them.

I’m going to list 5 local multiplayer games per genre, with more games listed beyond the 300 in a link at the bottom of this post. If a game qualifies for more than one genre, I either pick the one it leans more strongly towards, or I just choose. No game will ever appear more than once on this list. The games will be listed in order of their quality as a local multiplayer game for their respective genre, but the ranking is not a 100% science. The vast majority of games on this list have a Metacritic rating over 70%, though there are a few exceptions for some under-represented genres.

The primary list will contain links to the U.S. PlayStation Store page for each game and pictures for every game on the list - click on the genre name to view the pictures. The photo album will list five games for each genre – not all pictures show the game in a state of local multiplayer, but they should give you an idea of what the game looks like regardless.

I see quite a few Series X consoles for sale in my area from 550-600. I am a Playstation guy. But I LOVE some of the games heading to Series X, Fable, Halo, and Outer Worlds 2.

I know I am coming to the hub of all Xbox fans. So I think I already know the answer. But here is the big question.

Does the amount of Xbox exclusives and Gamepass justify owning a Series X?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Okay guys , this is going to be a long rant and all my frustrations with this one thing are going to be laid out in excruciating detail.

Let's start by saying that I'm not actively hating the show. I enjoy it , some bits I really like , some bits I don't. But there's this one thing that really gets to me.

So since my first time watching SaTC I've been an avid Steve an Miranda fan. This , now is just my opinion , I don't expect everyone to agree with it because shipping is a personal choice and everyone is entitled to their own ships.

The episode they meet , is one of my favourite Miranda episodes. That conversation ! That chemistry ! I mean it is one of my favourite first-meet scenes ever.

So Steve at this point seems cute , someone who charms Miranda by being himself. Then there is the episode where the girls wait to meet Big and he is serving drinks to them and all of them like him clearly. It's also a great juxtaposition to him being there all night long and Big being absent. I love the episode where he offers to help Miranda after her operation , the one after their break up in the chinese place where he tells Miranda that only they know what happened between them and nobody else's opinion needs to matter. The episode where he rubs her feet when she's pregnant (which leads to sex lol) , the one where he fixes her TiVo , the episode in which he brings her lilacs and she pines after him the whole episode( my favourite episode) where he let's Miranda believe that she broke Robert's heart , the one where he convinces Miranda to move to Brooklyn and sets up everything for her , where he tells her that she doesn't think anyone is good enough for her and her friends which leads to a cute moment , the one where he brings sweets for her and Carrie ! All this and I'm not even including the whole wedding stuff and love confessions etc.

And not to say that he is without his faults. He is especially annoying during the whole baby fever thing. When he behaves like a child especially compared to Miranda who has the most put together life of anyone ever. Where he doesn't move out even after the break up , and when he leaves Miranda to bake for Debbie ughhhhh that was bad bad.

Numerous things are just subtle but really stand out to me are the fact that he never EVER had a problem with Miranda being way more successful than him. It's not even a conversation. He supports and get's along with all of Miranda's friends. They obviously talk about important st

Avec un an et demi de retard, les médias recommencent à parler des FFP2, à mon avis très mal. Je voulais revenir sur quelques points très mal abordés pour vous expliquer pourquoi il faut que tout le monde porte des FFP2.

Qu'est-ce qu'un FFP2 ?

Un masque FFP2 est un masque fait pour empêcher les aérosols de 0.6 µm de passer à travers avec une efficacité minimale de filtration de 94%, en ayant maximum 8% de fuites sur les côtés du masque. On trouve parfois la dénomination "respirateur", pour insister sur le fait que c'est une protection antiaérosols contrairement aux masques chirurgicaux qui sont là pour empêcher les gros postillons et les éclaboussures. Leur plus grosse différence avec les masques chirurgicaux, c'est le très bon ajustement au visage qui permet réellement d'atteindre ~94% de filtration. Avec un masque chirurgical, le matériau filtre 90+% dans des conditions idéales, mais en pratique ça filtre 50-70% parce que c'est impossible à ajuster correctement.

Les FFP2 sont-ils nécessaires contre Omicron ?

Tous les variants de SARS-CoV-2 se transmettent par voie aéroportée : tout le monde émet en respirant/parlant/chantant/toussant des aérosols. Si on est infectieux, ces aérosols contiennent des particules virales. Une fois inhalées, elles démarrent une infection. Les FFP2 sont les seuls faits pour bloquer les aérosols. Par chance, les masques chirurgicaux filtrent un peu les aérosols, mais ce n'est pas la protection la plus adaptée.

Les FFP2 sont nécessaires depuis le début de la pandémie, Omicron ou pas. La seule chose qu'Omicron change, c'est qu'il est tellement transmissible qu'il faut gratter toute la réduction de risque qu'on peut pour éviter l'explosion épidémique (qui du coup n'a pas été évitée).

Les FFP2 seront également efficaces contre le prochain variant. Impossible de savoir quand ce sera, mais rien n'indique qu'Omicron sera le dernier, ni que le SARS disparaîtra par magie.

Les FFP2 sont-ils compliqués à porter ?

On entend des médecins et des chercheurs (au hasard, Bruno Lina du Conseil Scientifique) dire que les FFP2 sont trop compliqués à porter. En fait, pour s'assurer qu'un respirateur est porté correctement, il faut faire un essai d'ajustement. Le porteur du respirateur est mis en contact d'un aérosol d'un goût amer : s'il le sent, c'est que le masque fuit. Il existe également une version quantitative de cet essai, avec un compteur de particules entre l'intérieur du masque et

Did you ever want to play a full fledged backline supporter only to find out that healing and buffing isn't as awesome since damage and crowd control is king? Now with this build you can finally heal, buff and add an enormous amount of damage to your group. How? Well by combining the magical might and flexibility of one of three Sorcerer subclasses with the buffing and damaging potential of the Order Cleric. Even better we can flavour it completly like a backline commander that shouts orders to his team. So let's take better look at this Sorcerer X / Order Cleric 1+ multiclass.

#Mechanics

Central part of this particular multiclass is the Order Domain Cleric's first level feature 'Voice of Authority (VoA)'. This feature allows one ally to make a reaction based weapon attack after we affected him with one of our leveled spells - that has been cast with a spell slot - allowing us to weaponize our support spells. We then combine it with the high flexibility of the spell list of these Sorcerers as well as their meta magic to super charge this feature. Central to this is the Haste spell which gives our martial friend an extra action and some nice buffs.

But let's look at a few examples for demonstrations sake. We start with a Twinned Haste which means that we can add three weapon attacks to the first round of an encounter since VoA triggers another reaction based attack. Be aware that VoA can only trigger once, even with a Twinned spell. That's whybwe only get three attacks. Next round we might want to cleanse one ally of an affliction with a Distant Lesser Restoration which nets us three weapon attacks again. In the third round we might want to shore up the party's health a bit and use a Quickened Aid. Ohh look, we add four attacks! Two from concentrating one Haste, one from VoA for quickening Aid and one from a Cantrip by using our Action. Nice. Now we wanna heal a little bit and throw out a twinned healing word. Uhh four attacks again. Awesome.

Or put otherwise, this build makes it extremly easy to supercharge your buddies with additonal attack by buffing them. And this just got more ridicolous with Strixhaven's Silvery Barbs and Vortex Warp. The former just allows us to force an enemy re-roll while also buffing one of our allies. This then trigger VoA which in turn allows our ally to make a reaction based attack with advantage. The latter? This allows us to reposition our ally and trigger VoA which is bonkers. You can basically always have your tank in

I didn't even know the term homelab until I came across this subreddit probably a couple of years ago now? I have read a bunch of posts here, and have seen r/homelabsales and r/DataHoarder as well. It has been interesting to see other people's perspectives.

I never viewed my systems as a lab really, I have been hosting my own DNS/email/web/etc on the internet since about 1996. In my earliest days I volunteered at a super tiny ISP that one of my friends helped start and that was my first experience hosting live systems on the internet. That ISP closed down eventually and the remaining services ended up being hosted out of my home(though never was paid, I did it for the experience at the time). Here I am ~25 years later still messing around.

If you just want pictures, and don't care about my stories then here they are, I have comments on each image on imgur, small fraction of what I cover below:

• Homelab starting around 2001 (most geeky I suppose)
• First co-location server starting around 2006-2008 (Actual pictures taken much later, nothing special)
• Home lab starting around 2011 (nothing special)
• Homelab in 2021 (a bit better)
• Co-location in 2021 (coolest, to me anyway)

High level what I use my homelab for

• DNS, Email, Web hosting my personal stuff.
  • Some email/web/dns hosting for friends/family.
  • DNS: BIND (host my domains and have internal recursive DNS as well)
  • Email: Postfix + Cyrus IMAP + Spamasssin + Anomy Mail Sanitizer (config dates back to 2002ish)
  • Web: Apache
    • I could easily host all of the pictures I posted but used imgur since that is the more standard reddit thing to do.
  • DB: MySQL
• Owncloud (been using it since before Nextcloud existed just have stuck with it)
• Backing up my DVD/Bl

I know I’m a few days late to the party but I finally managed to complete my 2021 summary, so here it is.

THE NUMBERS

51 books read, plus one DNF. Two books were physical copies, the rest were on kindle. No audiobooks. This includes part of a 2020 Bingo card, a complete 2021 Bingo card and most of a second 2021 card. This was in line with my objectives for the year, as I wanted to see if I could complete two 2021 Bingo cards. I have eight books left for my second card, comfortably on track to complete it on time. Next year I’ll just do one card, as I have some series and non-genre reads to catch up on.

23 Fantasy, 20 Science Fiction, 6 Horror and 2 genre-related nonfiction. Some books have elements of multiple genres, so these numbers are approximate.

30 books by new-to-me authors (Book Bingo working as intended!). The majority of these books were good or better, and several were truly excellent.

26 Female and 25 Male authors as far as I know (allowing for some multi-author books and some authors for whom I read more than one book), with apologies for any mis-gendering.

THE BOOKS

I don’t give books numerical ratings, as I find it impossible to give consistent ratings over the course of a year. Similarly, my choice for the top books would change from day to day. However, there are certainly books that stand out from the rest, so here are some short(ish) comments on my notable books of the year (NB possible minor spoilers). The categories that I’ve used are arbitrary and I’ve chosen to restrict books to one category only, which forced some interesting choices. The order in which books are listed within a category has no significance.

BEST PROSE

The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo. This is a beautiful and poignant novella, telling a brief history of the titular Empress as recounted by someone who knew and loved her. Chih, a travelling cleric and scholar, visits a remote country house to learn more of the Empress of Salt and Fortune. The Empress was a victim of a forced marriage who had spent several years in exile at the house before overthrowing her husband the Emperor and becoming Empress in her own right. At the house Chih meets Rabbit, a former servant and friend of the Empress, who tells stories of the Empress’ rise to power that are prompted by various objects found around the house. Vo uses the structure of stories within a story perfectly, recounting historically significant even

The two roses who, er, rose to the top of this pile are Jes and Heather. Neither of them seems to be held there against her will, so it appears that they really and truly want to be the girlfriend of Bret Michaels. Maybe add "dumb bitchery" to the above list.

Okay! Heather and Jes pack for their trip to Cabo. Jes says that Heather's in for a rude awakening, because she is there for the long haul. She wants that man with a bandana wrapped around his naked skull, so Heather needs to watch her back. Heather is more convinced than ever that she's the one for Bret, and her claws are out. There's no way she's letting Jes walk away with him. Bret emerges, and we learn that he's an overpacker. Hey, me too! We apparently have that in common in addition to a host of shared venereal diseases. Bret's loving the two remaining girls, and thinks he has a tough decision ahead.

The girls board a private plane, which I must say is pretty cool, and land in Cabo San Lucas. When they arrive at the hotel, they get quite a greeting, including drinks and four hot sexy girls dancing. Heather points to one of said girls and says, "I'm fucking this one." Bret tells us that Heather practically knocked him over to get to the hot sexy dancing girl, whereas he paid the hot sexy dancing girls no attention because he was paying attention to the girls he was with. He's such a stellar guy to only have eyes for the two of three girls that he has on a date at once. The girl that Bret is paying attention to, however, is paying no attention to him, because she's paying attention to the girl that he's not paying attention to. He calls it a strange moment. Dude, you just lived through the first season of Rock of Love and you're calling THIS a strange moment? Plus, she was just trying to get you hot with a little girl-on-girl action. Don't sweat it, rookie.

Bret heads to his room, and Heather and Jes head to theirs. There are many gifts, including booty shorts, which Heather says are "so me." There is Bret Mail: "Bienvenidos, my lovely ladies. I've had a killer time with the two of you and can't wait to turn up the heat under the Mexican sun. I'll see you both later tonight for an awesome dinner by the pool. Love, Bret." To paraphrase Hillary Clinton, who I think was quoting someone else, you communicate with t

We start the day following rumours from journalists last night that Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee of the Conservative Party, had received the required 54 (15% of Tory MPs) letters required to trigger an internal party vote of no confidence in Boris Johnson. If this is true and Johnson loses the VoNC, it will trigger a leadership challenge within the Conservative Party. The winner of that challenge will become the Tory leader and as a result, the Prime Minister.

There is another rumour that Graham Brady will give a statement this morning. Regardless, things seem to be moving fast. The last time there was a VoNC within the Conservative Party was against Theresa May in December 2018, which she won 200-117. She eventually stood down as leader of the party in June 2019.
