Look, I'm 24. I'm not the oldest Pokémon player out there, I'm not the youngest. I've played almost every Pokémon console game there is and I've spent hundreds of hours on each. I am far from an expert on Pokémon, but equally, I'm not naive or raw to the expectations that we have had for SwSh. SwSh may not have many of the items that we had hoped for; yes, including the full national dex, but yet, I am still absolutely buzzing for the game's release.
Pokémon Red was the first console game I ever played, and the titles that we have seen since haven't always necessarily been progressive. However, I say necessarily because I accept that I was not the same age playing Gen VII as I was playing Gen I. Do you know how long it took me to work out that you had to water Sudowoodo? Weeks. And then USUM? Whole game - days. And at the time, on that basis alone, I really didn't enjoy USUM. Why had GameFreak made the game so easy? Why were there so many cut scenes and handholding? I was so bored by the fragility of the storyline...and yet, my 8 year old brother absolutely adored it.
Only with that hindsight did I acknowledge that Pokémon games aren't exclusively made for 20 year olds. Or 30 year olds. Or 10 year olds. They're not solely made for males, or otherwise. For intelligent people? Nope. For those with learning difficulties? Nope. For those that want pure unadulterated Pokémon war, definitely not. The games are made for everyone. For me as a 2 year old. For me as a 24 year old. For me as a 40 year old. Game Freak's audience is so wide, it's almost unparalleled. And there are going to be aspects of the game that every generation of player will appreciate, and aspects that other generations will actively dislike. Welcome to planet Earth.
I have read so many venomous posts that SwSh is so far from perfect that individuals who are still excited for it are being condemned. Where has this sense of entitlement come from? What has bred this unfettered and toxic desire for a perfect game?
I don't want SwSh to be perfect.
Let me say that again. I don't want SwSh to be perfect.
I want to enjoy its gimmicks. I want to discover its flaws. I want to exploit its weaknesses and beg mercy from its strengths. I want to finish the game with a sense of satisfaction and an appetite whet for more. To feed me yet keep me hungry.
We're not dealing with a company where each iteration of their phone demonstrates such minor progress that the new retail price is an insult to our
... keep reading on reddit ➡I feel like this fact is not vocalized enough on the left . It would do us wonders if the right was called out on this bullshit strategy. The typical American knows jackshit about international relations or political science so the right avoids this fight because they know it’s a lot easier to circulate videos of impassioned naive college students and then point and say “omg look at radical libtards, see the left is a danger to our country”

The first book that we have announced for 2018 is Unfettered III! All sales from the book go to Grim Oak Shield and its mission. Here is the line-up:
We are super excited about Unfettered III! And a few more names may sneak in. You can pre-order it now HERE at http://www.grimoakshield.org.
We have not officially announced the 2018 & Beyond line-up for Grim Oak Press but we have some great books publishing this year and for the next few years. To have a little bit of fun, I've put together an online jigsaw puzzle highlighting just FOUR of the books we will be publishing. To work on the puzzle to discover those titles, click here: https://www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=0bd2e6d9791d
Note: The artwork on those covers is not the final cover art. In fact, we have some great artists working on new cover art as we speak!
Feel free to ask me anything here! Let's talk about fantasy, science fiction, publishing, writing -- anything!
