A list of puns related to "The Pilgrim's Progress"
I found the book in my bookshelf and decided to bring it with me on vacation. I am about 70 pages deep but the book didn't even start to make sense to me. All reviews I have read praise this book and it's influence on/from the English civil war. My problem is that the things that happen to Christian in the book don't hold that much weight and there is a new lesson about a virtue every 5-10 pages. Should I kerp going or is it not worth the read?
Though I have long been a pilgrim without a permanent temple to call my own, I have been met with such grace from brodin's finest.
I was naked, and you dressed me in athleisure.
I was hungry, and you gave me whey, creatine, and caffeine.
I was homeless, and you sold me a day pass.
Thank you
They both describe various perils, pitfalls, and temptations in the Christian life. I am always stuck by how applicable they are. They warn me not to be lazy, remind me of the age-old traps and false roads, and ultimately encourage me that living the Christian life to the end is completely possible in God's strength. And of course they are both written in a metaphoric way.
What are your thoughts? What else, biblical or not, falls into this category?
Obviously the title is call back to Pilgrimβs Progress. I thought that the content may be a sort of commentary/criticism of Pilgrimβs Progress. Is there any benefit to reading one before the other?
Read this first back in the early 90's. It was a comic book/graphic novel of The Pilgrim's Progress set in modern time. The main character lived in a big city full of sin, and an evangelist comes to show him salvation.
It was very un-settling
Because they had a boatload of May-flour.
I have found this game to be pretty fun just sneaking around forts, burning their war stuff, but a big problem for me is I always get spotted. I did a bit of research in this sub and google and saw that the pilgrimβs set has some invisibility perk/engravement on it. I wanna get it but is it worth it?
