A list of puns related to "The Flaming Sideburns"
The sideburns worn by Zhao and others add an interesting angle to the Fire Nation. Sideburns, especially when worn by the military, remind me of their namesake, Civil War General Ambrose Burnside, and other mid to late 19th-century American military commanders. They operated during a certain era of U.S. imperialism that came before the Spanish-American War, Dollar Diplomacy, and the takeover of Hawaii; as such, it wasn't about economics. Rather, the U.S. miltary of the 1860s through 1880s was fighting the Indian Wars to "tame the west" and subjugate its inhabitants to fulfill an almost-religious desire to spread across the continent with no regard for other human beings (much like the pre-WWII Japanese imperialism that more directly inspires the Fire Nation). The sideburns, plus the fact that Fire Nation characters, in general, don't look definitively Asian or European, are a reminder of the universality of evil. That's a subtle point that is lost if the Netflix adaptors focus on casting East Asians to represent the Fire Nation and/or don't include the sideburns.
Watching all the games this weekend, the notorious shaved sides haircut has made an appearance in spades. I knew it was popular last year but it seems as though every second bloke has it this year. Itβs like the modern mullet haircut.
Has this always been the case or are my eyes correct?
I feel like Iβm pretty much paying my barber for the blend on the sides.. the rest of the shave I can figure out. Can anyone explain to me how to do it? Any other guys shaving their own head every week?
Complaints will abound regardless. But I'm very eager to see what tonight has in store for us.
Edit: WHERE IS IT?!?!
Edit 2 Electric Boogalo: TWAB was good and Artifact has been disabled for Trials. Reddit is now a bearable hellscape

I can't believe this even needs to be said, but stop flaming the lower ranked players at Twitch Rivals. Every time a team gets eliminated people begin to search for a scapegoat for their favourite players losing, and of course the easiest target is always the low Elo players that are missing all their skillshots and just generally performing to their expected level.
It was already a given before they participated that they were not going to perform as well as the Diamond/Master/Challenger players, so actively singling them out as the reason their team lost and calling out how badly they played is unfair when the opposing team had to deal with the exact same thing but dealt with it better.
Not to mention, most of you guys actually don't have a clue about how the game really works, and going after the weak links is really bad analysis of why teams actually lost. I'll use my team, Sudden Impact, as an example.
Every game Scarra invaded my blue level 2 and set me up to fall behind, then played around top lane to set behind our strongest player knowing I was behind and couldn't properly contest 2v2s like I should've been able to.
When I tried to take Scarra's blue in response to him taking mine, his team walked down to try and kill me so I got zoned off and had to abandon his blue, falling even further behind having wasted all that time. Ideally my bot lane + mid lane would've done the same whenever Scarra tried to take my blue, but no one called it. My bot lane didn't, I didn't, TF Blade didn't. I spoke to Scarra about this the other day and he said that he didn't expect it to work a third time in the third game, but he decided to risk trying it anyway and lo and behold, none of us said anything so he got it for free.
Our team work just wasn't as good as the enemy team's, so every game we let me fall behind and suffered the consequences for it. It was only one of many things that lost us the game, but most of them boiled down to the fact that we weren't very good as a team, not calling out things we should've and not reacting properly to what the enemy team was doing.
Now every time I hear someone bring up our team on Reddit, it's always "man TF Blade's team was so bad, poor TF Blade just couldn't carry". Often we'll get "the only other good player was Vapora Dark, but he was playing from EU on 200 ping".
