A list of puns related to "The Famous Grouse"
What went on at the Famous Grouse over the last 15 years? I've never seen so many different bottles of a 12 year old expression.
I think this is the correct order...
4 (a vatted malt, not Gold Reserve)
7 (latest version, not Gold Reserve)
Judging by the logo it looks like they re-branded 3 times in this period as well. Yet they never stopped being the highest selling whisky brand in Scotland.
Where is this constant need to "reinvent" themselves coming from? I wasn't into whisky back then; has the quality stayed the same, or are they compensating this way?
...is a pretty decent blend.
Iβll just begin by saying I LOVE sherried single malts, but my budget doesnβt allow for a lot of high quality, apart from a daily dram. So, to wet my whistle, Iβll partake in a wee bit of Famous Grouse. Iβve seen a fair amount of negative reviews, but I like the stuff. Iβm not ashamed to say (or type) it. Iβve heard that its the most popular blend in Scotland...Five and half million people canβt be wrong!
As itβs been said plenty of times before: Drink what you like. Cheers!
I'm new and have a hard time defining specific smells in whiskey. There's a particular and easily apparent smell (and taste) in both Aberfeldy 12 and The Famous Grouse.
I tried reading reviews to figure it out and it may be the smell of heather or malt. Very possible it's something else completely, like a fruit I'm unfamiliar with.
I don't get this smell at all in Macallan 12 Elegancia, Aberlour 12, irish/Canadian whiskey, bourbon, or rum.
I'd really like to find a bottle that brings this smell/taste to the forefront, or something with this smell that's cheaper than Aberfeldy ($59 at BC Liquor) but more palatable than Famous Grouse ($27). My initial thought is to try Naked Grouse ($43) next. Any recommendations? Thank you.
It's all fun and games until someone gets Hurt.
