A list of puns related to "Teleomorph, anamorph and holomorph"
I'm looking for a really good example of confusion caused by the old two-name system for anamorphs and teleomorphs, but not finding much. Anyone have any suggestions?
Any advice on shooting with an anamorphic lens. Sirui has an L mount full frame, that I'm seriously considering. I've never shot before with am anamorphic lens before any tips for shooting and/or post?
It seems you can somewhat push theorems about harmonic functions to holomorphic functions and vice versa.
Both are analytic, mutatis mutandis both can't have maximums in the interior, for both Liouville's theorem applies.
In dimension 2, every harmonic function is the real part of some holomorphic function, and every holomorphic function has harmonic real and imaginary parts. So there's almost a correspondence between the two.
In several variables something similar might be true but there's some issues of dimension.
So, is the study of harmonic and holomorphic functions equivalent?
If not how do they differ?
PS: This is a secondary question, but I'm also curious about how similar the properties of conformal functions are to the others. Maybe those are very different when we work in dimension different from 2 though.
It used to be TV stations would sometimes have movies and shows on film instead of video tape and they'd play it on a telecine or film chain machines live.
I've seen claims that some TVs have broadcasted anamorphic movies without using the right lens so everything looks compressed (for example the actors would look really skinny).
Is there any evidence of this even happening other than anecdotal evidence for example a picture or video recording of this happening?
I put 80s and before in the title as a rough estimate. I'm not being picky here. If you have something after the 80s it's completely fine.
Hey guys, Iβm still learning the hardware side of cinematography and have a question regarding sensor size and matched lenses.
The Sirui anamorphics are built for mft sensors, or at least to my knowledge their default mount started out as such. Does that mean the 24, 35, 50mm, etc focal lengths are matched to the mft sensorβs crop factor?
Another way of asking is, if I choose to invest in a pocket 4K and a set of Sirui anamorphics, will the focal length on the lens be what my camera records? (Worth mentioning I shoot most of my projects at 1080).
Thanks.
EDIT: I spoke to Sirui directly. Mounting the 50mm on an MFT will result in a 100mm FL but then the coveted anamorphic 1.33x squeeze will result in it behaving more like a 75mm.
Mounting the 50mm on an APS-C will result in a 75mm FL but the 1.33x squeeze will result in it behaving more like a 56mm.
They have a FF 50mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic going live on Indiegogo from the 12th which looks sexy AF, and the person I spoke to said they'll be shipping the first batch a week later.
When using shiftcam lenses, which iphone lens (of the three) do you use it on? The adapter has rings to screw into on the two vertical lenses. Does it make a difference?
If you lens correct and crop to 2.39;1 what would be different? (besides bokeh/flares)? Do any filmsΒ do this?
The caption says almost all of it. Iβm a lens technician and work with the classic Kowaβs often, and I also worked with them quite a bit as an AC and op. I only got to demo the evolutions one time and it was on a red Monstro and I was astonished that the 40mm covered.
Sure, it was distorted to all hell past the super 35mm image circle, but hey it covered. I know for a fact that the classic Kowaβs project a super 35 circle, give or take a touch more coverage depending on focal length.
Are these sets optically similar??? If so, I wonder how they got the extra coverage, my guess is re engineering the housing so the rear barrel doesnt crop the image⦠but what do I know.
Anyone know anything??
Going on a shoot with Anamorphics on 35mm for a day. DP wants to be on a crane as well. Probably won't have an HD-tap due to budget, so it'll be marks and Cinetape only. I've only done 16mm mostly and once on 35mm on sticks only.
Any tips?
