A list of puns related to "Taramasalata"
Had some great taramasalata while traveling recently. Where can I find this in Minneapolis?
Hi. The best taramasalata Iβve ever had was at Pylos in New York City. It was so freaking good I would have entire meals devoted to their pita and tara. I recently moved to Los Angeles and am looking to find something even remotely equivalent. Does anyone have recommendations for taramasalata here?
Only found this recipe https://www.facebook.com/MouthwateringVegan/photos/here-is-my-epic-vegan-greek-taramasalata-tastes-just-like-the-non-vegan-one-with/1422053594499638/ but the book is Β£400, and, frankly, Idrc if I actually like taramasalata quite that much ;)
I'm assuming it'd be something...chickpea/sea kelpy?
Anyway, thought I'd....seak'elp :P
Edit: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=OtIcEAAAQBAJ&pg=PT252&lpg=PT252&dq=%22vegan+taramasalata%22&source=bl&ots=vvQt8OYpq6&sig=ACfU3U2YJ6PdqgCGXV1i4xOj8rS0BgKhfg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiFxtrOrbLwAhWxQkEAHeKmAq0Q6AEwEnoECAYQAw#v=onepage&q=%22vegan%20taramasalata%22&f=false found this actually :) hope it helps someone!
As I saw, the only fattening ingredient in both recipes is olive oil, since in taramasalata you can swap bread with potato puree. What could be a healthy, low calories alternative that could replace it?
I need white tarama, not red
Has anyone seen this for sale? I have seen the Krinos brand, but the texture and flavour just isnβt right and Iβm curious if anyone local sells it instead
I have some fresh cods roe and want to make Taramasalata. Should i smoke the roe or just salt cure it? If smoking it, does it need to be a hot or cold smoke (or could i do either)? Am willing to test a few different ways of doing it.
Moving to Biddeford soon- does anyone know where to buy taramasalata in the Portland area?
It's kind of hard to just do a basic smell/taste test as we're dealing with fish eggs here, and it always smells and tastes a bit funky.
It's a greek dip, apparently not very popular in the US (since I can't find it). I've tried Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, World Market, and Glen Park's Cheese Boutique (good place) so far. 100 kinds of hummus, but no taramasalata.
It's a double dip recession.
Do your worst!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
