A list of puns related to "Swamp Thing"
Iโve ordered and returned this figure 4 times now from 2 separate companies (GameStop and Amazon), and every time Iโve ordered it Iโve received the unpainted โchase variantโ figure. I just want the normal green Swamp Thing, no where on either of the listings for the figure is there anything mentioned about an unpainted version being a possibility.
The whole thing feels so cheap and lazy, especially since it seems like Iโm not the only one having this issue. The market seems to be flooded with unpainted variants whilst the regular release is the actual rare figure. I was really excited for this, but now I feel like just ditching the McFarlane line for good.
Any of you guys have similar experiences?
Hey everybody, Jay the Monster Deliveryman here!
Things have been getting pretty hairy in Hollowโs End lately, especially after what happened last time.
My grandma and I were tasked with delivering a barrel of high-proof alcohol to the woods where an ancient secret society called the Subterraneans operate. They live deep below ground and worship giant millipedes, in case you aren't familiar with them.
The bastards tried to kill us after we made our delivery, attempting to offer us up as a sacrifice to the largest and oldest of their giant millipede overlords - the cargo train-sized one they call โThe Many-Legged God.โ Luckily for us, my grandma had some very good friends who came and provided backup, and we managed to escape the forest with our lives intact.
Unfortunately, my grandma also gutted their giant millipede deity during our escape, and now the Subterraneans are really pissed off. Like, even more than usual.
Not only that, but my boss Doc is also upset because, despite their penchant for human sacrifice, the Subterraneans always pay tidy sums of cash on time for deliveries, and tip handsomely, so he loves their business.
I guess I shouldnโt have been surprised to find out that he was working with them in more ways than one.
The radio crackled to life suddenly.
KRRRRSSSSHHHHH
โCome in, Jay.โ
My grandma was off that day, saying she needed a break after our run in with the Subterraneans. She told me sheโd retired for a reason, and so she was going to spend the day relaxing at the casino with her friends - playing high-stakes no-limit Texas Hold โEm and drinking Caesars. But I had her number in case of an emergency.
โYeah, Iโm here, Doc," I said, feeling a bit nervous doing deliveries
... keep reading on reddit โกWow I just finished book 2 of the Alan Moore Saga of the Swamp Thing collection and itโs so good! Iโve been a fan of swamp thing because was a kid I saw the movies, but I had no idea how awesome the comics are. Im excited for book 3 and 4 to arrive on Wednesday! This post is really about nothing just wanted to give Alan Moore some props. I also enjoyed The Watchmen and The Killing Joke. Any other suggested reads?
I often see people here say Alan Mooreโs best work is Swamp Thing. Being a huge fan of Watchmen, Killing Joke and V for Vendetta I wanted to check it out. Just finished Book 1, and I didnโt hate it but didnโt love it. Do you think Iโll like the subsequent volumes more, or is this a good indicator that I just might not be a huge fan of the series?
The box set is available but the Absoluteโs are hard to come by.

Strengths/Abilities: Control over plant life, reading past memories from plants, moving his consciousness through plants
Overview
When Alec Holland sacrificed himself in the battle against the Upside Down Man (check out James Tynion IV and Ram V's Justice League Dark), the world was left without an Avatar of the Green. But in the immortal words of a weird scientist surrounded by dinosaurs, "life finds a way". And that way was Levi Kamei, an unwitting biologist, and the star of Ram V and Mike Perkins's excellent The Swamp Thing, one of the highlights of DC's Infinite Frontier launch.
Levi was raised in a village in Kaziranga, a protected forest reserve in India, until he traveled to America to study biology. After many years separated from his family, he traveled back home to negotiate on behalf of his employer Prescot Industries to purchase the land that his family and his village had safeguarded for generations. When his father and the other village elders refused to sell, Prescot Industries used their political ties to the Indian government to make the land transfer happen anyway, driving a rift between Levi and his family. Led by Levi's father, the residents of Kaziranga protested, leading to a clash that resulted in Levi's father being shot. On his deathbed, the elder forgave his son, leaving Levi wracked with guilt.
It was then when the Green selected him as their new Avatar, believing that Levi's remorse would make him understand the burden of protecting plant life. As the new Swamp Thing, Levi struggled to understand the new world around him and the powers that suddenly manifested within him. He learned that all plant life was like a neural network. He could transfer his consciousness to where ever the Green had a foothold, and could recall ancient memories observed by plants. But with these new powers also came new enemies: Task Force X, Prescot Industries, and even Levi's own vengeful brother.
The Swamp Thing was originally solicited to run ten issues, but has been extended for six more. It will return in March.
