A list of puns related to "Steve Jackson Games"
Yeah, they all inherited some pretty loaded squads. But itβs certainly not easy to maintain the type of culture and atmosphere that keeps multiple stars happy for at least half a decade.
Here's my copy, 3rd edition and here's the Steam page just gone live a couple of hours ago! Here's a gif of it all Thanks!
Hes a hard headed dude but he gives credit when its due. Just tired of people saying he shits on his team all the time.

Takeaways for GURPS:
All in all, there was nothing too surprising beyond Characters actually doing kind of well. I'm curious what contributed to that. Did Munchkins just do that poorly? Did the Dungeon Fantasy RPG Kickstarter stir up some hype? Did publishing to DriveThruRPG do that as well?
Title. What the hell was Lloyd Pierce doing with this roster? They were a sub .500 team with him and now they're fighting for a fucking finals appearance with McMillan as an interim coach. It's actually insane how good of a job Nate has done with this team since taking over. Makes me wonder what exactly was going on before he got the reins...
I think it's funny as hell. From the book description:
>The Ark of the Covenant rests in a crate next to the gold plates of Moroni and the dissected corpses of the Martian invaders. Frozen in ice you'll find the Jersey Devil, a Yeti, and a bacteria that can eat any metal - it just can't STOP. Growing in a hidden hydroponics facility is a plant with a fruit that tastes like steak, with enough nutrition in a single serving to sustain you for a week. The plates they serve it on in the cafeteria are made of a 100% biodegradable plastic that - while it's still fresh - can absorb the kinetic energy of a tank shell without even spilling your drink.
>You don't want to know what's in the drink.
>The global power balance teeters on the brink of chaos. We touch too much too soon. We discover things we were never meant to comprehend: Relics created by the whim of mad genius, or aliens, or gods - or godlike DEMONS . . . substances so potent that a handful could destroy our world, computers so subtle that no network is secure from their manipulation, sorceries dark enough to annihilate the purest soul.
>Somewhere, those with true Power have built a facility to imprison these forces . . . for proper study. For our own good. To insure order. Until THEY decide to unleash them. They know WE aren't yet ready for the contents of Warehouse 23. But are they?
>Your players will be delighted. At first.
I could have sworn this was a product that was supposed to be released already. With all these Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals shrapneling about, at DriveThruGames, I came across this, a new βdeluxeβ version with unfamiliar cover art:
https://www.drivethrurpg.com/m/product/229433
And the version I played with many years ago was also available as βclassicβ:
https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/229441/Car-Wars-Classic?src=hottest_filtered
Did I miss something? Is the deluxe version the βbug releaseβ Iβve been expecting for years? Or is this a repackaging of the same info into a deluxe version and the cherry bomb that is a new and improved Car Wars still yet to be released?
Earlier in the year I emailed dozens of game publishers asking for donations for my school's game design class and our board game club. Several companies sent very nice replies saying they didn't send demo/free games and wishing me luck. Just when I started to think our club would be relying solely on my personal collection, I received a package from Steve Jackson and one from Rio Grande containing these. The first meeting of the club (last Friday)had 6 kids, and this week I've had another 5 or 6 ask for permission slips.
What a weird piece of current news:
In addition to a "Delta Force Extreme 2 Videogame Guide," Osama bin Laden had a link to this 2004 article about a cult website that concocted a crazy conspiracy linking Steve Jackson Games to the 9/11 attacks. Even icv2 is confused.
Just thought this was a super odd piece of current news that's connected to the board game world. Steve Jackson Games has made and published, literally, tons of board games over the years, but everyone knows Revolution! is the best.
Other links: Steve Jackson Games wrongfully raided by the Secret Service (way before all this happened): link
Article from the cult website about Steve Jackson foretelling the 9/11 attacks (it's pretty crazy): link
Not the trading card game, the one before it.
I was just thinking about all the enjoyment we've gotten out of gurps and how little comparatively we've supported gurps. So I had the idea to give players a couple extra character points if they donate at least $5 to Steve Jackson Games.
I tried to find a place to donate for gurps but couldn't find anything. Anyone else tried this or found a place to do it?
I have conducted quite a few interviews, some recently, some a while ago, with SJG staff and freelancers. Since the upcoming Dungeon Fantasy RPG (Powered by GURPS) game has passed some big hurdles and is headed off to print, perhaps in time for GenCon.
So with that, here are some interviews, in reverse date order. Some special things about them is that each of them has a text transcript β you can read them, listen to them (MP3), and/or watch them. For the most recent ones, I use post-production to try and do a bit of value add, showing products and images relevant to the conversation. But, without further ado, hereβs the list of interviews with SJG folks and freelancers on The Firing Squad. (The PK/Hunter one wasnβt mine; it was a transcript with which I was gifted).
