A list of puns related to "Society of the Cincinnati"
I have been to their website, and I know what they say the society is about. But I was wondering if anyone had any information relating to the founding of the society, and what they have done over the years...especially in the 70's and 80;s? I guess I am looking for some uncommon things about this society?
If this is the wrong site, forgive me. I find this societies' roots very strange, not to mention their connections with the top families of America. Thanks in advance.
At least twice previously this winter the city has pretreated roads with a brine solution before snowfall that ended up being largely unnecessary for the flurries that materialized.
Yesterday in advance of the most snow we've seen so far this season? Nothing. Since then? Nothing.
I'm not complaining that my street hasn't been plowed yet (it hasn't). I work from home, it's fine, I didn't have anywhere I had to go this morning. But I know plenty of people do.
That said, the street I live on is designated as a priority 1 clearance route by the city. It is typically aggressively treated and plowed throughout any snow event. So far, well more than 12 hours after snow began to fall? Nothing. I drove on at least two other such roads this morning (Victory and Dana) that likewise saw no signs of treatment or clearance, with multiple drivers slipping and sliding and generally have no traction on these thoroughfares.
The city dropped the ball on this one. And it wasn't even that much snow.

GUIDELINES
Letβs try to be more creative than βlul Bravesβ or any of those low effort jokes. These jokes are unfunny and unimaginative and we all know we are better than that.
This is a roast thread, please take all jokes as wellβ¦..a joke. Please remember that jokes are jokes, donβt like it? Move on.
NO OTHER TEAM BASHING, save that precious ammo for when that team's time to be roasted comes.
No malicious posts, trolling, or over the top comments attacking r/baseball users. As i said before this is supposed to be light hearted and fun, letβs keep it that way.
The next team up will be posted in the thread the day before, so everyone will have time to come up with material and decent jokes referring to the team.
Sub rules still apply. Any overtly homophobic, racist, or malicious material may result in you being banned from the sub, so play nice.
Have fun! This is meant to be lighthearted thread and they are to be taken as such. The offseason can be long and hopefully this series will provide some fun to pass the time. So roast away!

Hi! My name is Andrew Marantz. Iβm a staff writer for the New Yorker, and today my first book is out: ANTISOCIAL: Online Extremists, Techno-Utopians, and the Hijacking of the American Conversation. For the last several years, Iβve been embedded in two very different worlds while researching this story. The first is the world of social-media entrepreneursβthe new gatekeepers of Silicon Valleyβwho upended all traditional means of receiving and transmitting information with little forethought, but tons of reckless ambition. The second is the world of the gate-crashersβthe conspiracists, white supremacists, and nihilist trolls who have become experts at using social media to advance their corrosive agenda. ANTISOCIAL is my attempt to weave together these two worlds to create a portrait of todayβs Americaβonline and IRL. AMA!
Edit: I have to take off -- thanks for all the questions!

He is living in a long term AirBnb working remotely and because of the current world crisis id love for him to get into something a bit more "his" before the world ends.
Hes trying to find a house to rent that has a fenced in yard, but after searching for weeks on the listing sites it appears as if fences are very uncommon in the areas surrounding Cincinnati. Is there some sort of law prohibiting fencing in a yard?
He has 2 dogs, one Brittany spaniel and one pit mix, who are his absolute WORLD. He loves them so much and wants to make sure they have a secured yard to run in. Do you think that, given the current uncertainty in the economy, landlords might be more willing to accept tenants with breeds who would otherwise fall under the "restricted breeds" category and/or allow for a fence to be installed? The only company i see on the house rental sites that says no breed restrictions is CONREX rentals. Does anyone have experience renting from them? Do you deal directly with the home owner or do you interface solely through CONREX
Im really worried for him as this was already such a huge step for him (first time leaving home town at 60 years old) and now the world is in limbo. I just want to make sure he can get set up with his dogs in a safe place that is a bit longer term than month to month. if anyone has any advice, id greatly appreciate it.
