I am not a base jumper (maybe in the future), so this is just for my curiosity. But since a skyhook can get a reserve out in like 100-500ft, it seems like most terminal base jumps/wingsuits can totally get this out in time in case of a mal? wouldn't this be way safer than just carrying 1 canopy?

I grappled jacked a banshee 3 times in one match and it hasn’t popped. Not had any other achievement not pop when it’s meant to so just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?
The goal for starship is to eventually achieve $10/kg to orbit, and a payload capacity of 150t.
The original idea for a skyhook was to use it to reach orbit from the surface or a low suborbital trajectory, but this would require new materials and science and likely cost billions.
However, a skyhook can also be designed to send and receive payloads (or entire ships) to distant destinations from LEO or even a high suborbital trajectory.
Skyhooks can use electrical power for thrust by using the Earth's magnetic field to effectively turn our planet into reaction mass. This allows solar panels to accumulate kinetic energy in the skyhook system that can be expended to fling rockets to other places.
Quick back of the napkin math tells me that a skyhook with a 120km long carbon fiber cable (well within the length and strength limits of carbon fiber) with a centripetal acceleration limited to 2.4g for less than 5 minutes could bring a suborbital starship with 150t payload mass and full header tanks to a super-orbital trajectory to Mars.
It could regenerate the kinetic energy required in less than 12 hours using solar energy generated by an array only a couple times bigger than the solar array on the ISS.
This system would allow single launch to Mars and cost only electrical energy. Redundant carbon fiber cables could be used to ensure safety, and a similar system could be developed on Mars that would greatly reduce the in situ fuel production needed per return rocket, to a minimum of maybe only about 600t.
The skyhooks at either end can also catch rockets coming into the system on super-orbital trajectories and drop them to suborbital ones, reducing wear and ablation on heat shields and recovering kinetic energy from those rockets to expend on an outgoing rocket.
Finally, a smaller length and cheaper design of skyhook over the moon could be built that would allow fuel-free launch from the surface to a suborbital trajectory on earth, and the same system could catch and deliver starships headed to the moon from the LEO skyhook, regenerating kinetic energy in the process.
To observers on the surface of the moon, the hook would appear to come almost straight down from above, briefly stop, then rise again (this phenomenon is achieved by matching orbital velocity and rotational velocity, which also allows the hook to come down over the same places repeatedly).

Grappled an enemy Banshee in a quick play game. Took over and started flying it mid air. Nothing unlocked :-(

Going for the Skyhook Shot achievement I have grappled the enemy banshee to hijack it so many times but only ever get the skyjack medal and not Grapplejack to unlock the achievement. Am I doing anything wrong here?

SOLVED: seems to been a issue with the latest docker image, and was patched quickly, i justed happened to pull it at a bad time, the newest one solved the problem.

I grappled a Banshee, hijacked it, and didn't get the achievement. I think it is locked solely to BTB.
