Is becoming an aircraft marshaller/signalman worth it?
Iβve been looking into getting a marshaling job at a (large or small, Idc) airport which I will use to help me in flight school when I decide to attend.
Iβll later use all this (plus college) to help me become an airline pilot.
Other than the experience and the $20-$30 bucks an hour average, is a job like this worth it?
Thanks.

Jack the Baboon! James Edwin was a signalman on the railways who lost both his legs while working. He bought a Baboon and named him Jack. James taught Jack to push him to work and back in a small wooden trolley. Jack became a legitimate signalman and reportedly never made a mistake.

The Signalman by Charles Dickens
I just had to read this story for an online summer class. I really enjoyed it and thought Dickens left a lot open to the reader with the ending. Has anyone else read this story? If so, what did you think of it?

Shed four and the Fatalistic Signalman
Hello. I'm at shed four where you have two options. Pay to buy the remains of the Charlotte Guest and give them to new street line or put them on display at a museum. Can anyone tell me if either choice has consequences or if its just extra flavor either way.
I'm all for going blind but I just messed up the devils quest and im not thrilled to mess up someone else's again!

Tom wants a job as a signalman on the railways.
He is told to meet the inspector at the signal box.
To find out how Tom would react under pressure, the inspector asks him: "What would you do if you realized that two trains were heading for each other on the same track?"
Tom says, "I would switch one train onto the other track, thus averting a disaster."
"What if the lever broke?" asked the inspector.
"Well, I'd run down to the tracks and activate the manual lever," said Tom.
"What if that had been struck by lightning?"
"Then," Tom continues, "I'd run back into the signal box and phone the next signal box."
"What if the phone was engaged?"
"Well in that case," persevered Tom, "I'd rush down out of the box and use the public emergency phone at the level crossing up there."
"What if the public phone was on fire?"
"Oh well, then I'd run into town and get my uncle Bill."
This puzzles the inspector, so he asks, "Is he in the fire department?"
"No. He's never seen a train crash."

Tom is applying for a job as a signalman for the local railroad and is told to meet the inspector at the signal box.
The inspector decides to give Tom a pop quiz, asking: "What would you do if you realized that two trains were heading towards each other on the same track?"Tom says: "I would switch one train to another track.""What if the lever broke?" asks the inspector."Then I'd run down to the tracks and use the manual lever down there," answers Tom."What if that had been struck by lightning?" challenges the inspector."Then," Tom continued, "I'd run back up here and use the phone to call the next signal box.""What if the phone was busy?""In that case," Tom argued, "I'd run to the street level and use the public phone near the station.""What if that had been vandalized?""Oh well," said Tom, "in that case I would run into town and get my Uncle Leo.This puzzled the inspector, so he asked "Why would you do that?""Because he's never seen a train crash."
