A list of puns related to "Shot peening"
I am a female fresh mechanical engineering graduate and tomorrow I have an online interview with a local manufacturing company for a shot peening engineer position. I have only just known about this particular machine for the past three days, I have done some studies for it so that Iβll be able to understand the mechanism. I have no prior work experience nor an engineering internship. I think I have prepared myself for about 60%. How about some extra advice from you guys? Thank you in advance!
Is it good to shot peen steel items I make after hardening, tempering, etc? And if so how can I do this without a shot peening machine?
Any insights what is the most economic approach for surface cleaning of brass parts after forge process? Thank you
what is residual stress
I'm currently investigating on a shot peening problem. Our first guess right now is humidity in the media (round metallic particles with a diameter around 0.010"). I'm looking for a way to test the humidity in the media on different samples we take in different spots in the machine. We could make a lab analysis (that's what we do now) but we want something "on the spot". What would be the best hand-held instrument to test the humidity in a "powder-like" material?
For now, I found those : http://www.rotronic-usa.com/products/water-activity/hc2-aw/ It looks like it would do the job but what do you guys think?

EDIT9: Update from PM_ME_DANK_PEENS, read and come to your own conclusions and/or do your own DD https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/rgpa9h/this_keeps_getting_buried_if_you_have_ally_as/
Update: seems like I've been banned for 7 days for spamming, good luck and do your own DD to all those who DRS-ed your IRAs with custodians, hope you don't get screwed
I won't be able to reply, so DM me or tag me in another sub. I'll continue to update this post with evidence gathered by other apes so if anyone wants to carry the torch to make a new post, you will be able to

EDIT7: /u/_foo-bar_
(context) just provided an update, foobar did not provide hard written evidence yet.
>I called this morning. I was connected to a call center agent. She said yes IRA in a custodian account are held as book entry and they are removed from the DTC. They are held in the name of the custodian on your behalf.
>
>She had a hard time understanding why I was asking all this so thatβs the best answer I could get. I was unable to get the chat bot to connect me to a human. Iβm going to send an email to them now asking the same questions. I did ask about talking to someone higher up, but she wasnβt able to.
>
>This leaves the question can shares that have been withdrawn from the DTC but held by the custodian be somehow lent out by the custodian? Iβm not sure how they could be if theyβre in book entry form and not at the DTC. I will try to get a better answer by email.
EDIT6: /u/Parris-2rs (context) and /u/_foo-bar_
(context) have taken it upon themselves to check with ComputerShare and provide evidence to the contrary. Let's patiently await to hear from them on Monday. I'll update this post (and likely make a new one) once they share their findings with us.

Even if you are financially positioned to not care about per-round costs, you should care about keeping a fantastic shooting barrel alive, and care about it shooting with that load you worked so hard to develop instead of having to swap barrels and redo your development with fingers crosses the new one likes the old load or similar loads.
I'm neither a metallurgist nor an expert on high pressure dynamics. But my engineering job involves working with extremely high pressures (up to 3000 bar at times) and dealing with how parts fail when exposed to heat, pressure, and flow. I know a little bit of metallurgy and how pressure vessels fail. I wanted to offer a couple points to think about, several of which I'm sure are review.
Now to the theory: barrel wear is mostly cause by microscopic tearing of the metal (microcracking) associated with expanding under pressure. Heat degrades the properties of the steel and exaggerates the effects of pressure.
The shiny bore we like to think is nice and smooth really isn't. It has tiny scratches in the surface visible under magnification. Each of these scratches is a place where the pressure can "pry" apart the metal at the scratch and open up a microscopic crack.
At work, we pressure test tubes ramping pressure up as high as 4500 bar (Higher than 338LM pressure) and down. With enough pressure change and enough cycles, you can make that tube split

My google-fu is failing me, and everything I am coming across just points me to ways to decrease roughness/polish the surface.
My best thought at the moment is either shot peening or manually abrading it with a wire wheel or similar, although I will need to process a lot of these panels so scalable would be good. Are there any common processes Iβm missing for increasing surface roughness of metal?
Alright, so hereβs the dealio.
I have a large Italian family with many cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews, et cetera. Every once in awhile weβll all gather up to celebrate the anniversary of our great grandparentsβ wedding, a special occasion marking the creation of our family. Theyβre long gone now, but itβs the memory that counts, and we celebrate by cooking a feast for the ages, rivaling thanksgiving dinner.
Now upon the eve of this anniversary all βda boysβ (as us men in the family affectionately call ourselves) gather up and go to a famous local bar in downtown Boston. They only accept cash, very βold schoolβ feel to the place, but it makes for some great stories. Usually the place is a blast, with all sorts of banter and drunken shenanigans occurring, but not last night...
Now before I divulge the details, I ought to give some background as to how I fit into this family. Where my father and I are well integrated into the family, my mother is quite the outsider. She comes from wealthier, southern origins, around the mid-Atlantic part of the country. Because of this, sheβs always viewed the family as βworking classβ, with her posh accent sticking out like a sore thumb at gatherings of Bostonians. By extension, Iβve always felt I had to prove to my family that I can βhangβ with them so to speak, and in a way I worry that they see my mom as the woman who pulled my dad away from their tight knit circle.
Now letβs cut back to last night at the bar. Laughs, drinks, and stories all around the bar as we enjoy ourselves. My cousin Vinny invites me and some of the younger guys to play truth or drink. At this point Iβm already quite drunk, but accept for the fun of it. A few questions in and Vinny asks me βhow big is your dick? I know youβre packing a huge one Anon, right?β
Of course my other cousins all groan with embarrassment, but I foolishly answer instantly, unaware of the ramifications of my response.
β4.5 inchesβ I say too confidently, and suddenly all eyes are on me.
βDrink anon, I know youβre bullshitting me man!β says Vinny, with a twinge of nervous angst in his voice.
βIβm serious Vin, thatβs all I got, hahaβ
Dead silence. I gaze across the bar to see my entire family looking in shock and awe at my response. Vinny attempts to get everyone focused back on the game, and everyone resumes at a quieter tempo, but I knew that I had just majorly fucked up.
After leaving the bar, my uncle Paul pulls me aside, puts both hands on my shoulder and says

This is a one of a kind razor. Brian at Charcoal Goods has only produced a small (less than 10) batch of copper razors in this finish. He has mentioned he may do another run of this finish at some point. This is the only anchor handle razor that exists in said finish.
The first couple photos are of the razor when I first received it. The later show the patina that has been developing. All original box and materials included (as shown).
Selling because I prefer the level 3 shave (but the finish and material on this is better than my brass level 3!)
Paid $295 USD followed by taxes and duties at the border. Asking $300 USD and I will cover the cost of shipping and tracking from Canada. PayPal F&F or you add 4% for G&S.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Is it good to shot peen steel items I make after hardening, tempering, etc? And if so how can I do this without a shot peening machine?

This post is gonna look very unworthy of it's flair, so feel free to do your own DD on the claims. If you know where to look ;)
Claim: Your IRA shares that you thought you DRS-ed with ComputerShare are not registered directly in your name if they are held For Benefit Of (FBO) you by a custodian. They are registered in the custodian's name and hence, are available for lending fuckery, and may not actually count towards the 5.2m shares revealed to us during GME's latest earning's report.
As long as the shares are not in your name, they can lend out your shares with or without your permission. See FIDELITY VS AER ADVISORS LAWSUIT
Here's a screenshot by another ape of his chat with ComputerShare.
Here's a post by another ape who claims his shares are "DRS-ed"
It says DRS invoice #: 0000000000000, so it's DRS-ed and the shares are registered in your name!
Yes, I hear you. Aside from the shady invoice number you're given that you should think about, the statement is provided by Ally.
Why does the statement being provided by Ally matter?
Ally was one of those brokers that turned off the buy button back in January. Can they really be trusted for what they tell you? Are they incentivized to convince you that your DRS-ed IRA shares are
