It's weird
It’s not It both of the host but one of the host is always just absolutely negative all the time. He went as far to say Sammy Watkins even when healthy is not a top 20 wr which I think is just a bad take. One of the host also said hardman having 600 yards and 5 tds would be a good rookie year and he added on “so basically Sammy Watkins”. I mean my god Watkins was on pace to close to 1k yards when healthy I thought most of the KC media was in agreement that injuries are the only think holding him back because when healthy he’s an ultra talented wr but 610 sports radio always makes an effort to crap on him.

I definitely remember one scene from it where they cut a tree at two places, remove the small log between the two cuts and the rest of the tree still stands, the movie is filled with such surreal moments.

“Did we already what Jack?”
“Nothing. Never mind. Can I crack open a window? I need some fresh air.”
“Sure. Go ahead. Do you want to switch?”
“Nah I’m ok.”
Jack lowered the window a little and looked at the marker in his side mirror. He shook his head. They had been driving for a long time and after a while the roads start to seem very very similar. He was probably just mistaken.
“We can stop for a minute if you want.” Sally took a sip of water from her canteen. “Give us a chance to stretch our legs.”
“Yeah that’s a good idea.”
Jack carefully changed the lanes. He was a good driver, following rules even if there was nothing around. Sally often called him uptight and teased him about it. But he didn’t mind. The rules were there for a reason.
He parked the car and unlocked it. The couple got out and started stretching their legs taking the support of their car. They checked their phones. No reception.
“Damn. You got any bars?”
“Nothing. Nada.”
“Mile marker 73 selfie my man. Get in here.”
Jack smiles and went up to her. Sally stretched her arm and clicked the picture.
“Let me take a look at it.” She brought it up on her phone. “Wait what the...”
“Hello.”
Sally almost dropped her phone as she looked at the third figure from the picture.
An unassuming man, barely 5 feet tall stood there with a large backpack. He was wearing two watches, one on either hand.
Jack could hear his heartbeat. Where had this man come from?
“Hello guys!”
The guy smiled as he moved closer. But the smile did not reach his eyes.
“Hi there.” Jack finally got the words out.
“Say, would you good folks mind giving me a lift till the town of Springfield.”
“We’re not really sure where that is. We’ve never travelled this way.”
“Oh that’s ok. I can guide you.”
“We’re actually really behind on our schedule. We are trying to make up some time before the evening.”
“Oh, it’s just on the way. Shouldn’t take you more than a couple of minutes extra. Help me out will ya.” He smiled again. A smile that sent shivers up Sally’s spine.
“Well you see...”
The man had already moved to the car and had his hand on the door handle. He paused, looking at her.
“Yes.”
“Nothing. Never mind. Sure, get in. Give us a minute though. We’ve been sitting for so long.”
“Sure thing.” He gave them a thumbs up and another smile. Albeit it looked more like a sneer. A knowing sneer.
The couple moved a few feet from the car.

Voice of an angel
My mother is a teacher and brought me home many books from her school and this short story was in one of them. It was basically a skinny horizontal rectangular book, possibly on technology? And within it was this short story with the speaking parts and the sound directions necessary to make the background noise. I distinctly remember that they suggested using a cookie sheet and wobbling it to make the sound of thunder. The story was intended to show kids how to use things in the house to make a cohesive story like real radio serials used to do, but was not the main part of the book. The book itself may have been a part of a bigger series because I think I remember having multiple books with similar looking covers. I might remember more if someone asks me a direct question about it but right now this is all that I can recall! I’d love to read this story again and would be so grateful if someone could help!!
For me, it was "Soul to Squeeze" by RHCP. Between the excitement to get him home and how scary driving with a newborn in the car first was, I'm glad it was a chiller song.
