Every album is so good. They’ve steadily put out album after album of such great songs. They were screwed by Semi Charmed Life being their first single, and blowing up the way it did. It’s a song that doesn’t represent them at all IMO
EDIT: I maybe shouldn’t have used the words “bad rap”. All I meant is that for people who don’t know how good a band they are, how well crafted their songs are, SCL isn’t a good representation of their over all sound. It comes off more like a one hit wonder ear worm. Most of their work is really thought provoking and deep. A lot of it is just good rock n roll, but all of it is pretty far away from SCL. When I tell some people that TEB is one of my favourite bands, all they think of is SCL and don’t get why I’d say that. Not really saying it’s a “bad” song…Their album Blue (the one after their first) didn’t get the exposure it deserved or air time because basic lame radio rock stations didn’t hear a SCL ear worm kind of song on it. Maybe Never Let You Go, but it wasn’t a hit like SCL. That album is incredible. Everything after that album is amazing.
Sorry I’m sure I missed something they’ve done. Personally these two are fun. DGD brings their sound to these two in a way that really works for me. Instantly recognizable but fresh. I most definitely prefer original songs, however with a broad range of sound and style I think DGD can make anything work and I would really love to hear more of what they have to offer.
