My Kairi showed all her characteristics that makes her, her, yesterday afternoon, and I've never been more proud of her.
I took her to our local park that is around my neighborhood that I've taken her like every weekend. Nothing was out of the ordinary as she lept out of the car and went to her usual two "social media locations" (trees). I headed out to the middle of the field while she did her business.
That was where everything changed. Usually Kairi will run in all sorts of directions but this time, she was on a trail of something and made her way to a particular section of the fencing that was near a bush. That's where she stopped and started to paw the fence and started to whine. I went to go see what was the matter as this was out of the ordinary behavior from her. I looked in the bush on the other side of the fence and there was this Beagle curled up.
I immediately ran to where I knew where a hole in the fence was. I along with a now leashed up Kairi ran over to the bush. Kairi was visibly upset and was very being sweet. The dog was breathing, but looked a little dehydrated and was very weak. He (Rocky) had a collar on. I called the number and his owners answered. They met me at the park. In the meantime waiting for them I put him in the back of my car that I had warmed up.
They lived not 5 mins from the park. They said they lost him a week ago and they tried all the dog rescue and pounds to see if he was there. As soon as he saw them his tail wagged slowly. They took him right to the vet.
I'm not sure how he pulled through, but I am so proud of Kairi and how she behaved and how she saved his life.
