Before anyone criticizes, thought it was worthwhile to split the games he truly did feature in as he had 4 games of 5 minutes or fewer (including the Celtics blowout where the minutes came in garbage time) and 4 at an average of 22. Second thing worth noting is that it's a truly tiny sample. Data for lineups is seen an incomplete until we get like 1000 minutes and we're talking about less than 100 here. Lastly, these averages are strictly for seeding games.

Given Ibaka and Marc's departures and the state of the market, I don't really think there were any options at that price point that provided a higher upside. I haven't always been a big Boucher fan myself, think he can bullied at the rim with his frame sometimes and he's had relief appearances where he just does *wayyyy* too much. However, I think its undeniable that as a bench piece he's very productive and the on-off numbers bare out that he's a plus defender.

I know that the seriousness of the seeding games can be put into question but his performance had taken a significant step up and I don't see why we shouldn't project that going forward. Really looking forward to see him in an expanded role next year and think we continue this We The North era with another 50 win season pace (61% winning percentage over 82 so like ~ 44 wins minimum in this shortened year)!

I've always wondered about this and it confused me a lot when I was younger. Is there some connection that I'm just unaware of? Was it a very popular phrase in the 60's since I recall a famous Motown song called "Papa was a rolling stone" that came out in the 70s.

The question of how best to balance martials and casters—if at all—has been handled very differently from edition to edition, and judging by online arguments about the topic dating back to at least 3.x and the early 00's, it's something that a lot of the playerbase (at least those who discuss it online) has very strong, and widely differing, opinions about.

The fundamental challenge of how to balance characters who have magic—which can potentially be said to do anything because magic isn't real—and those who do not is a tricky one, and there are a lot of different ways designers can potentially approach it. Broadly speaking, I think there are 6 possible approaches to balancing casters and martials. None of them is right or wrong for everyone, but they come with different advantages and tradeoffs that may appeal more to certain segments of the playerbase:

1.) Balance by different power curves. Common in older editions dating back to OD&D and Basic, this approach is to make casters much weaker than martials at early levels and eventually more powerful at higher levels (often, casters also level more slowly than martials as well). Sure a high level wizard might be godlike, but a level 1 wizard has 1d4 hp, no cantrips, 1 spell (which might not even be combat relevant if you rolled badly and only know something like Light), no armor and shitty weapons, all in a system where character death occurs quite frequently. Meanwhile the fighter comes out the gate ready to fuck shit up. In theory, this approach yields a balanced experience when evaluating a campaign in its entirety, in that if you were to actually plot out how many sessions each player spent being stronger than another it would look fairly balanced. In practice, if a campaign never gets to higher levels, the fighter is going to have spent the entire time being much stronger than the wizard, and judging by how every modern edition from 3.x onward has given wizards more spells earlier on, many people drawn to casters don't enjoy the prospect of having next to no magic for a while. This approach can also run into the problem that while casters look forward to levelling, martials hit a point where gaining XP as a party means they fall further behind, which can feel demoralizing.

Quick rant: I see a LOT of people complaining about the quality of TV albums and a lot of people (not so much on here, but still a pretty prominent amount) stating that if you are a true Swiftie or supporter of Taylor, you cannot listen to or stream her OG albums.

Hard disagree, and this viewpoint in my opinion is… well, stupid.

Yes, the goal of the rerecordings is to devalue the OG recordings, as she doesn’t profit off of them and doesn’t own them. HOWEVER, I highly, highly doubt Taylor would be pissed to find out (or hear about) people still listening to her OG albums.

I’m a big fan of OG Red and OG Speak Now. I didn’t notice many differences in the new Red (despite what people might say, the WANEGBT weeeeeees aren’t THAT bad, 22 sounds different but it’s not awful…. and let’s be real, the main reason people complain is due to nostalgia, not because the song is actually worse or even that different) aside from her voice, so it was pretty easy for me to delete the old album from my library and add the new one. I haven’t streamed the old album since TV’s release (I have a CD copy of it though — I obviously wasn’t going to throw it away or burn it), but I feel like it might be hard to just delete the OG Speak Now from my library. Especially since for me, part of the charms of that album were her vocals, which are different.

I’m probably still going to mainly listen to the TV version, but listening to the OG doesn’t make you a bad person. Remember, there wouldn’t even be this debate if Taylor could have just bought and owned her own masters. We as fans and consumers are not bad people for not wanting to ditch what for some of us, was basically therapy that got us through rough times. Albums 1-3 were quite literally my childhood — no, I’m not a bad person because it’s hard to give that up completely.

This all being said, I wish people wouldn’t be so negative about the re-recordings either. Yes, Red TV was different, but it’s quite literally going to be impossible to recreate the albums exactly. Fearless TV was quite different too (imo), yet most of those differences were seen as improvements.

This is not a new concept but it's really hit me over the head these past few days. Most here will be familiar with the mantra that "conservative men view women as private property, whereas leftist men view women as public property." While this succinctly outlines the underlying issue of leftist men, it doesn't illustrate the point as vividly as the current ongoing explosion of the prominent Reddit community, /r/ antiwork.

For the uninitiated, I'll try to be brief in the prologue -- though the full story is interesting as hell and still ongoing, not all the details are relevant.

/R/ antiwork was a sub that quickly bloomed in popularity, mainly by discussing the injustices of modern capitalist workplaces. It had over 1.6 million members who mainly hailed from a variety of leftist viewpoints, though conservatives were occasionally also present. The mod team decided to interview with Fox News, against the subs wishes. After the interview -- which bombed -- all hell broke loose on the offending male moderator.

His Reddit history was combed through. His Facebook. His past activism. This 30-year-old anarchist had his allegedly leftist life picked apart on the frontpage of the internet. Behind the layers of unwashed hair, the unkempt studio apartment he aired on live TV, was a serial rapist. A serial rapist who has spent years in positions of power in anarchist and leftist groups. A serial rapist who wrote a Facebook confession of his behavior, describing how he repeatedly violated the boundaries of the ex-partner who accused him. Of course, he also made sure to mention how his abuse of his partner gave him PTSD and suicidal thoughts. He mentioned how it hadn't been easy for him to live after the abuse. Typical, right?

Somehow, despite the lengthy public confession of serial sexual abuse attached to his FULL NAME AND PHOTO on Facebook, this man's life was far from ruined. After he had raped and assaulted a girl, repeatedly? Confessed to it online? He was able to slowly go back to leftist leadership roles. His life wasn't ruined until he decided not shower or prepare any notes before a news interview representing roughly a million-and-a-half people.

But, you think, that's just one mod. Well, it was. After the rapist mod was removed, another mod made a post for the subreddit to try and smooth things over. This time, the mod is a twenty-one year old male anarchist who claims to read theory and wants to increase transparency on the sub. He brusquel

Chapter One: The Honeymoon Period (2020, May to August)

Destiny and Ana (a psych student) used to be friends, and they had fairly "entertaining" discussions relating to psychopathy and abusive relationship dynamics on stream. Destiny even took the Dark Triad personality test.

They had five on-stream conversations during this time. The fourth has been perhaps forever lost to time (unless the Keeper of the Vault has a future surprise for us) but here are the others:

An important thing to note: I say "entertaining" discussions, in the sense they were a complete trashfire and made Ana look so bad that according to Scoot (of Last Week On Destiny fame) Steven actually forbade them from being uploaded.

From the very beginning there was something evidently odd about the way she would approach their conversations: she would dance around explicitly diagnosing Destiny with some sort of personality disorder, but would instead make consistent and comprehensive allusions about specific negative traits of personality and behaviour that she believed he demonstrated.

During the "I feel" stream linked above, when he finally calls her out on this habit, the conversation derails because she hyper fixates on trying to prove the purity of her intentions and the validity of her commun

What up, intent for this thread is to draw a line in the sand with the top 20 list stuff, whilst coming forward with my own personal list and explaining some of my reasoning.

A couple of notes:

• I was one of like 80 people consisting of pros/coaches and community figures to submit a list here.
• We were asked to submit at least 20, up to 30 players. I obviously went for the full 30.
• The combined community list and combined pro list were the 2 biggest factors in the final ranking, with stats and event placings also being factors. I did not have a say in this process, I merely submitted my list.
• I also wrote articles for and interviewed JKaps, Shad, Squishy and Extra, so I repeat myself a bit with them.
• Not everyone will agree with my list or methodology, but does anyone? Regardless, different POVs and weightings are why so many people are involved to make the final list a thing. These things can be truly subjective from person to person, and that's ok.

The best player on the best team, with the most success in 2021. Not much more needs to be said, but his mastery of defense and ability to come up clutch with a huge goal, often in spectacular form, truly make him the standard for being the world's best.

For me, in RLCS X in 2021, GarrettG eclipsed Jstn in performance and impact as NRG returned to being the best in North America. His offensive capabilities grew to make him a true terror on the pitch in what was his best overall year performance-wise potentially ever. Yes, Jstn returned to top dog in the second half of the year, but given their success and overall performance were basically identical IMO, if anything, GarrettG having the Intel World Open edged him as #2 for me.

It is worth noting that I do honestly believe Garrett and Jstn would have been valid choices for the #1 spot. I weighed all three players up.

Marc has elevated the ceiling of first man play to that higher of 3rd man, while doing it in such a style that is harder to play consistently than 2nd man. A huge impact player on and off the ball, he regularly competed with MM for MVP accolades in BDS' multiple tournament wins.

5: Firstkiller

On one hand, the largest standout on any title-winning team this year, by some distance. Perhaps the best player purely on the ball. He also succeeded on multiple teams, which is a huge plus for me.

My reasoning for not having him higher, is there were the odd event

Day one.

It starts on a relatively normal afternoon.

1pm, but I’m still drowsy. My girlfriend Minami is still in bed.

I rub my eyes and pull on the kitchen blinds. Golden sunlight streams through the window and I blink and grimace. We’ve just returned from Japan, you see. Visiting relatives. I feel so drowsy and drained; jetlag can be a real bitch.

As I adjust to the light I make awkward eye contact with a surprise visitor. A small black cat sat right there on the windowsill, waiting for me, it would seem.

“Oh, hi little guy”, I greet him, peering closer. “I haven’t see you around before. You move here recently?”

The cat does not respond, obviously; it just looks back at me through the glass, and blinks.

One of its eyes is blue, the other is green.

I hear Minami’s yawn behind me and I turn to greet her. She stretches her arms up high and scratches the back of her head.

“Morning Takuya” she says as she heads to the cupboards. “Damn, I’m so hungry. I feel like I haven’t properly eaten in years”.

“Minami, we have a guest, check it out!” I gesture to the window and turn back around, but unfortunately the cat has gone. “Oh. Maybe he’ll be back”.

Condensation has crept into the corners of the windows, I notice as I look for the cat. It catches in the light and I look a little closer as Minami makes her breakfast.

…How curious.

The condensation appears to be made of subtle, soft little crystals. I rub some with my finger and they dissolve into a fine dust.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I’ve been seeing a LOT of posts on the subreddit about clans / accounts being phished, I hope this will clear up some of the fake news and help you secure your account. This is going to be a detailed write up so there will be a TL;DR at the end.

My information comes from old clanmates who have sadly become “professional” phishers (they make a lot of money selling accounts and clans), as well as actually having seen the phishing process itself and a Discord server with a PHISHING BOT.

I will try my best to avoid accidentally creating a phishing guide, but there definitely will be some details here that SC won’t want you to know. I do know a fair amount and am pretty confident that I’d be able to phish accounts quite easily with my knowledge, but I refuse to do so after having so many of my accounts stolen, it really broke my heart when mine got phished.

Phishing is absolutely deplorable and I hate to see it be such a prominent issue within this community, so I have written this up for future reference to anyone looking to further understand what a phisher actually does.

Email accounts are not hacked to breach an account linked to SCID

Email accounts are very rarely, if ever “hacked” for SCID. People don’t know what emails are used for your SCID (unless you’re naive enough to tell someone what it is), so a data leak for your email’s password is not something SCID phishers typically look for.

Instead, they use social engineering and phishing bots (more info later) to trick SC support into giving you their account. This means that having a strong password on your email, despite being good security practice, will not prevent SC phishers from stealing your account.

But what exactly does that entail from a lore perspective? What else can we do on Etheirys that feel relevant after reaching the far end of the Universe? The intent of this thread is to open a discussion about the various ramifications and threads that have been open in Endwalker. As we all know, the original map portray the three continents of Aldenard (Eorzea and its surrounding), Ilsabard (Garlemald and Near East) and Othards (Far East), that roughly correspond to Africa, Europe and Asia

We also caught a glimpse of two more continents when we visited the Moon

• Meracydia: Continent south of Eorzea, where men and dragons coexisted in ancient time. It's empire fell during the war against Allag, and very little is known about its current situation

• New World: Large continent found west of Eorza. It was re-discovered 80 years ago by the explorer Ketenramm the Blue, and is home of Whalaqee tribe (BLU quest). Many of its themes, are analogous to America colonization (ie: ressource and land being stolen, virus decimating the population, the Golden City, or the fauna such as the tapir).

Given the size of their landmasses and the amount of lore existing in the game already. The New World and Meracydia are most likely 2 complete expansions, with their own capital city, beast tribe and everything. But even if we don't go that far, the current continent probably has enough for 1 or 2 more expansions if they wanted. Here is a few more or less notable locations

General Abraxus' deep, sonorous buzz cut through the chatter in the room, all side conversations ending abruptly as started his speech. Gathered before him were the political leaders of the Korvan people, all demanding an explanation as to what had gone so disasterously wrong. The loss of the war with the Terrans was still a point of major confusion with most of the citizens of the empire. The campaign had been proceeding as expected, when suddenly, the tides turned. In less than two months, the Korvan empire went from being on even footing with the Terrans to desperately trying to survive.

"I'm sure many of you are wondering how such a thing has happened. A surrender, much less a total surrender, has never occurred once in our great history. I know that such a thing seems unthinkable, but I assure you we had no other choice. The change occurred suddenly. The tactics of the Terrans became... brutal. Instead of typical ship-to-ship combat, the Terrans began to attack our ships physically." Gesturing to the screen, one of the new Terran ships appeared. It was an ugly, ungainly looking thing, lacking the clean curves and pleasing design of the Korvan cruisers. The ship looked like a floating lump of raw steel, heavy plating prominent. "They no longer even tried to shoot at us, or perform tactical maneuvers. They simply found one of our ships, set course, and rammed directly into it. Once engaged, the fighters within poured into our ships and... well... perhaps it is better to show you."

The screen behind the general changed, showing a security feed from within a Korvan battleship. The feed started out as nothing but static and distorted shapes, but soon came into focus. Apparently, the Terran ship had just crashed into theirs when the playback began. The rough-looking front of the intruding ship opened quickly, and a swarm of Terran fighters poured in. There was little in the way of strategy or coordination in their attack. Instead, the human fighters came screaming toward their foes in an unmistakable rage, chanting something in their brutish language. They were armed with melee weapons only, seemingly not content to fight at range. The Korvan rifles fired into them quickly, but to little effect. I sit myself down on the tunnel’s edge, and with one last deep breath, I push myself off the side and drop down into the dark.

The hard plastic of the tunnel carries me down and around the corner like a slide, down it goes, turning this way and that before steadily levelling out…

I grunt and readjust myself as I slow to a stop. The tunnel is rather claustrophobic, but it’s fine. I’ve been down here before. I have to turn onto my front on my hands and knees, I do so and crawl forwards for about two minutes or so before rounding one last corner.

Ahead of me at the end of the tunnel is a narrow pinprick of pale, purple light. Same shade to the light in the mall upstairs.

I mutter to myself, pushing down the fear, and continue my crawling, knees aching as I do so.

You gotta be more careful, Matthew, I think to myself, chiding myself for being so careless. “…Can’t let this sort of thing happen again. This was too many. Too many kids, by far”.

The purple light at the end of the tunnel grows a little brighter. The view into the world beyond becomes clear. I can’t hear any of the teenagers, I realize, which is not a good sign.

…Not a good sign at all.

My heart is pounding. I’m not supposed to be down here.

...No-one is supposed to be down here.

And yet, here we are.

Pull yourself together, I think. Let’s get this over with. Abby might be down here. Despite what Avery said, she might still be down here with her friends.

-And I clamber out from the tunnel’s exit and into the place that lies beyond.

…Beyond. And beneath.

I stand in a room with blue-green peeling walls. Scuffed floors. It’s kind of like the Tartarus store, only with a different color scheme, and there are no mannequins. No creepy-ass mannequins with names and initials written all over their faces. The windows ahead are not boarded up, and there is no metal sheet over the door that leads out.

I glance behind me.

The tunnel does not go down into the floor, of course. It instead carries on in a straight line and disappears through the back wall. I return my gaze to the room’s front door, and stride towards it, heading out… out and into the plane beyond.
