I’m hoping you can help me with my first Chanel old medium Boy bag in red caviar. I've never bought a Boy bag, it looks gorgeous in the factory photos, but in the PSPs I'm worried it may have some issues.

Personal QC Assessment:
Positives
Color, quilts, and stitches, shape, and size look good to me. From what I can see, the side stamping looks good, and the inside stamp looks ok (possibly crooked but may just be the angle of the photo).
Concerns
Two huge things that stuck out to me:
- The piping issue by the CC buckle on the front. Does it look kind of depressed/hilly to you? It seems like the logo buckle may be on too tight, and it's causing the piping on the sides to change shape?
- The tabs on the sides of the CC buckle on the front look like they could possibly be crooked/different sizes. Not sure if it's just the picture though.

QC: This is a solid mid tier bag; looks accurate to me, hardware looks and feels nice. Caviar is a touch shiny but c/w auth. Great option for trying out a color or style!

Quality: The caviar on this bag looks kind of similar to my authentic, but maybe the grains a bit more deeper. From my untrained eyes, it appears all alignments are correct and stitchings are neat. I’m not an expert on Chanel and definitely not on this vintage baby, so if you ladies want me details please refer to REpladies subreddit. Hi, everyone! I’m so happy I can finally post my first review on this lovely forum. I have spent a couple of months reading everyone’s posts and I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of time and effort it has taken to develop such an informative forum. I love this fun little community!
I have personally owned 4 authentic Chanel bags (I have since sold one of them). Currently, I have a medium black caviar with SHW that I purchased in 2008 in Paris, a denim mini square (cruise?) bag that I bought off of Fashionphile a few years ago, and the caviar Deauville drawstring bucket bag from Fall 2019.
I’ve lived in New York City my entire life so Chanel bags are pretty much the norm around these parts. I can spot a fake from a mile away. My oh my, how things have changed.
Back in my young-hot-fashionista days, I wore my medium bag a ton, but nowadays I’m really a cross body dog-park-and-errands girl, so my medium flap tends to sit in my closet. I thought it would be beneficial to share some comparison photos though, so stay tuned!

Hello everyone! Here is my first review post. I've been lurking for a while and enjoying everyone's helpful reviews so here is my contribution.
I've been looking for the perfect red flap for a while. It's so hard to find one. Chanel comes out with different shades of red seemingly every season, and if I were to purchase auth, it's almost impossible to obtain that perfect season's red flap, since I don't have a relationship with an awesome SA. I also do not have a boutique anywhere close to me. Aftermarket or personal shoppers are expensive. So here I am, looking for a really great rep. Enter 187 and TS Heidi.

authentic So, I haven't been able to find an exact auth in this color/texture leather and lghw. It's a toss-up between 17s and 17b and and 18b possibly. If anyone has any better ideas please let me know!

My assessment - First glance - I was impressed by all the packaging that comes with 187 bags. The box, the receipt sleeve, the authenticity card, ribbon, camellia, booklet, even the tissue and the sticker are all very very close to authentic. Of course, minor details like the texture of the materials, ink color, paper thickness etc etc are slightly different, but still visually they are so close. I did not deduct any points for inaccuracies to the packaging.
Quality (9 out of 10) - There was a slight factory smell right out of the box, but it went away after a few days of airing it out. Now a nice leather smell remains. It is true that 187 bags tend to be less puffy than pics of auths (-0.25) but I knew this going in. The small caviar leather was a bit dry and dull. The pictures I took are after a generous slathering of Leather Honey. I've since conditioned the bag a few more times and it is definitely more supple now. Chain is a little twisty (-0.25), but one of my auth cfs
