A list of puns related to "Randall Flagg"
Im a big Randall Flagg enjoyer and i want more of him.
BQ: What is your favorite "scene" in that book?
I feel like there has got to be some meaning to it. Anyone know?
I dig the Canadian Tuxedo, in fact my everyday look is stolen straight from Flagg's description in the book, I'm into it so much. In both adaptations, however, they make the same choice of giving him a blue undershirt, making him this solid blue figure that looks hella dorky. I would keep everything else, but offset the jacket and pants with a dark brown shirt, or maybe tan, or maybe a subtle maroon. Now I'm just describing myself, though. The name of my look might as well be Randall Flagg 2.0.
Hey I'm thinking that the man himself Flagg from the stand/dark tower/eyes of the dragon and children of the corn should be a killer. He's is the Stephen King villain and would be perfect. His matching surviver should be Nick (the stand) or Peter (eyes of the dragon) or Eddie Dean (The dark tower). I believe he'd be a better pick than Carrie or pennywise but that's my opinion.
I just finished chapter 23 of The Stand, and that's one hell of an introduction! I don't have much to say about it besides that was great. I've heard of RF, but this is the first time I've came across him in one of King's books. I can already tell he's going to be a great character!
So. anyone else kinda found the reveal kinda...meh?.. dunno why but its giving me SERIOUS lucifer vibes, i was hoping something closer to the comic or something dunno.. more eldritch
I guess RF is now supposed to be a "Mudd Man."
I wonβt spoil anything of this short story (Skeleton Crew), and this theory almost definitely not true, however there is a sadistic murderer mentioned in this story named βRudy Foggiaβ. The R.F. initials to such an evil character my mind went immediately there. For those whoβve read it and know the story / outcome, any possibility?
Some spoilers...
Disclaimer: this has no relation to any of the Dark Tower books, I'm just looking at the Stand from a 1978 reader point of view, from before DT was a thing.
I'm reading the Stand, and I noticed some hints that when King wrote this book, he wanted the readers to figure out the connection between Flagg and Abagail was by blood, because of a few small things in the book.
Firstly, when Glen talks about Flagg during the town meeting, he mentions he is also known as Richard Fremantle. Now this is very suspicious, because Mother Abagail's surname is Fremantle.
Secondly, during the Mother Abigail chapter, it's mentioned that her brother's name is Richard, which means that her brother's full name was Richard Freemantle. Can you see the connection?
Finally, when Flagg meets Nadine in the desert, he tells her his real name is Richard. For me, this pretty much confirms my theory that RF, Randall Flagg/Richard Freemantle is Mother Abagail's brother.
This makes sense to me, because all of this isn't likely to be a coincidence. Randall Flagg as a character in DT hadn't existed yet, so it may be possible that while writing the Stand, King wanted to imply to us that RF and Mother Abagail are actually siblings, opposite of each other in every way.
I searched this theory in Google and was surprised to only find very few threads about this considering this is pretty mind blowing. What do you think?
Me and My friend came up with this theory that proves who's the mastermind behind the scary events that happened in Maine.
The Stands Randall Flagg is an Odd Bastard, but something about his character makes me to believe he is the one that caused all the stories of Stephen King.
For example, what if he gave Carrie the powers to kill all the teens at the prom and later the whole entire town.
What If he created The Shining.
What if he Sent Pennywise to earth and feed on Children.
He could of also contacted The Aliens from both Tommyknockers and Dreamcather to come to earth and destroy humanity.
He even could of caused the little things and Corrupted Warden Norton And Captain Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption and even caused Paul Sheldon's car crash in Misery.
Another I would rank would be he sent the bat to bite Cujo, posessed the car called Christine, for Vampires and Werewolfs that haunt Maine.
I also speculate that he created The Langoliers.
To prove that he is responsible, he has lived for thousands of years and he travels through demensions. Not to mention he has dozens of names.
So could shit just happen in Maine or was it Randall Flagg the whole entire time, the choice is up to you
Ever since finishing the Stand Glens speech about Flagg being tons of Demons and Monsters throughout history got stuck in my head. However, the mentioning of Nyarlathotep specifically got my mind going. I thought it was metaphorical at the time but Iβm not so sure anymore. Flagg and The Crawling Chaos have tons of similarities between them. Multiple aliases, silver tongues, ancient beings of incredible power. It actually seems to fit really well that they are one and the same.
So is it confirmed if Flagg is the Faceless God? Or is it just some purposeful similarities?
Randall Flagg's penthouse suite is above the forty-third floor. Four plus three equals seven, and the number seven is associated with God. Flagg is symbolically attempting to seat himself above God.
It's interesting as they really go out of their way to show this a couple of times.
A hard traveling supernatural entity of shadowy origins decked out in modern western attire with an unknowable purpose making its way across our nation creating chaos and destruction wherever he goes and attracting like minded evil individuals to serve his needs.
Randall Flagg mentions being lovers with Konstantin Stanislavski. Flagg being bisexual is something I never considered but in retrospect heβs been around for thousands of years and weβve only seen a few brief glimpses of his life. Do you think this is an angle King could explore in future books?
Sheridan brought a unsettling comedic creepiness to Flagg. That mullet, the smile, his presence. I can believe this was a demon in human form.
Alexander SkarsgΓ₯rd? The guy looks tiny, nothing unnerving or scary about him, and you don't have that uneasy trying to laugh but too scared to feeling.
This may include spoilers for those who have not read The Stand.
First off, this book is everything I could have hoped for. The character development is absolutely mindblowingly amazing. I'm also reading the extended version.
Just got to the part where Trashcan met up with The Kid.
Not sure if this is a universal or unpopular opinion but I feel The Kid is more of a villain than Randall Flagg. >!What did it in for me was the sexual assault with the gun.!< Totally made me hate The Kid, not that I liked him when he was introduced initially. Trashcan is not a sociopath like The Kid, merely a victim of circumstances and bullying as well as institutionalization.
I love how King had me praying that Flagg would come and rescue Trashcan. He has such a way of making you root for the antihero, and identify with these characters who are so flawed. Ironic how The Kid was even too bad for Flagg to have around.
There is even good within the evil, holy cow. Back to reading I go.
Could they exist in the same realm at the same time?
Would they be in inherent conflict with each other if they had to share a reality and/or physical space (like, say, Derry)?
Is it possible that one could best the other, and if so, who would win?
