A list of puns related to "Pure Heroine Tour"
My googling didn't turn much up besides a few short videos and tons of stuff from the Melodrama era. Thanks friends and hope you can point me in the right direction!
I mentioned this to my girlfriend as we were leaving the Milwaukee show last night: When I saw her on the PH tour, I noticed she would be really into a song and have a straight, serious face, but then she would see something in the crowd that would make her smile or laugh while she was singing. Its small, but it made her seem so much more real; even though she had a #1 song, she was still humble enough to not be able to hold back how happy she was to be among her fans. I'm pleased to say that 3 years later she still can't help but smile when she's on stage. For anyone that missed her on the Pure Heroine tour, you're in for a show that's just as good, but bigger and better.
Last week I bought a Pure Heroine vinyl in a store only to find that it had a bunch of skips on it so I managed to swap it for a new one only for it to have similar issues. I did clean them before playing and all of my other records play absolutely fine. Maybe itβs a manufacturing problem?
Ay look who's 4 days behind on his Lorde news and just noticed the tour was over.
Title pretty much says it all. There may only be 2,258 of us, but between all of us I'm sure we can cover a lot of the shows she played. Post where you saw her, any pics or videos you took, and share your memories!
I saw her on September 26th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the BMO Harris Pavilion. I went with a friend who had never listened to Lorde before, and I wasn't really sure if he was going to come away liking her. We had pit seats and got there early enough to get front row, my first time ever being front row at a concert, and it was so worth it.
You want to know what my dumb ass self did the other day? I accidentally deleted all 181 pictures I had taken and saved on my phone since I got it. My trip to DC and fishing trip to Canada, my OneRepublic concert, and my Lorde videos and pictures, all gone with one miss-click. But luckily I had saved the best Lorde pictures on imgur, so I've still got these 5 and a short clip of Biting Down. (Here's the thread if you want to see other people's pictures from that night).
I've got a few memories that will stand out above the rest. The one that stands out above every other moment is when she was performing A World Alone and she sat down on the edge of the stage right in front of me. I had just put my phone away, but luckily the guy next to me happened to be a redditor who visited /r/lorde and was able to get me an awesome picture of it. That was probably the most star struck I've ever been in my life. Another thing I'll never forget is watching her trying to be all serious and be all into her performance and then she'd see something in the audience that would make her laugh or smile and she would kinda break character. I love when celebrities are still taken back at what their fans do for them. Also the roar of the crowd after she performed A World Alone. I don't think I've ever heard something so loud before. Lastly, while this may not be a memory from something specific from the concert, the friend I went with to see her came away loving her and said it was one of the best concerts he'd ever seen. While he doesn't love her as much as I do, he downloaded all of her music, loves Buzzcut Season and Million
... keep reading on reddit β‘Never been a huge Lorde fan but God the production on pure heroine is soo good, I think this album aged really well and it's still a huge inspiration to me sound wise!
Do you guys/gals have any idea of what type of synth and drums machines have been used on this record?
I've been thinking a lot about 2013/2014. I don't remember much from that time but whenever I listen to Pure Heroine I get almost vivid flashbacks and memories I didn't know existed. I was so happy and I didn't even know it. Life was different. Feels like a whole lifetime has passed since then...

I was trying to find a PDF/scan of any one of the songbook that were published of L's albums (both would be perfect, but any one of them would help me a great deal, already), but couldn't find anything online. Would anyone have it, and could share it, please?
Thanks in advance!
I can't find it anywhere. None of the songs in my library play, and are completely greyed out. It's disappeared from her artist page. Help!!! Any other people having this problem?
yes its a generalisation but i just noticed so many pick ribs as their favourite and i want to know why specifically what the instrumental makes you feel and the lyrcis?
I have literally listened to over 50 artists that people specifically recommended to me and didn't like anything?? I just can't seem to like anything, I keep listening to the same couple of songs all day every day. help.
I'm new in this fanbase, I just discovered Lorde a few months ago and I loved her music. I still don't get why she named her debut album with such a name. I don't know if she has explained the meaning of the title in an interview or something, but I would like to know why "Pure Heroine" because now I'm curious
I forgot how much this album in vinyl was so good ! If you got a good sound system itβs literally heaven π
Which single do you want OUT?
the most upvoted comment determines the fate of ONE of these singles....
Lmao I heard the album so many times but this thought crossed my mind just today. Enlightenment would be appreciated. Tyvm! <3
I'm pretty new to Lorde and only started listening to her through Solar Power which I fell in love with. I really want to get into her older works now. I really like Team, Buzzcut Season and The Louvre but i'm not sure where to go from there. Does anyone have any song suggestions from the first few albums?
I just wanted to share this and I wonder if anybody else thinks this way.
I've been listening to Lorde since I was 13, and Pure Heroine made me fell in love with her. She's my favorite artist, but before Melodrama came out I could not say why. Then I realized, it was because how she does not -only- talk about her own experiences but about her generation's experience. The narrative of Pure Heroine is constructed upon a 'we', and that was refreshing at that time -and still-
I acknowledge that Melodrama is a REALLY good album, bot lyrically and production-wise. But my 'problem' with it was how personal it is. I mean, Melodrama is very relatable but it's not a 'we' album (except Loveless I think, which is my favorite song and now I understand why) but an 'I' album. There's nothing wrong with an album like that though.
Then Solar Power came out as a fusion of both, with many collective and personal experiences. I think you can say that this is the golden ratio for Lorde, but I still find Pure Heroine more attractive, because it really makes you feel understood with all the teenage angst, realism and cynicism. I think most of Lorde's power comes from her ability to depict reality in such an honest way with songs like White Teeth Teen, A World Alone etc.
Another aspect of Lorde which I think distinguishes her from other songwriters is how satire she was on Pure Heroine. Songs like Tennis Court and Royals were very satire, cynical and again also collective. She was the 'master of criticism' in Pure Heroine, and I'm glad that it was back with songs like Mood Ring and Solar Power.
What do you folks think? Do you agree or disagree? Again, I love Melodrama a lot, but not as much as Pure Heroine and Solar Power because I think these albums show why she is not another songrwiter but Lorde.
Iβve said on this sub before that Iβm more of a fan of Pure Heroine than Melodrama (which I think is the more popular album on this sub). While this album is a very different vibe, I feel like itβs very experimental, existential, and contemplative, much like Pure Heroine. The sounds are very unexpected, especially for Lorde who is known for having a more synthetic vibe. But she came onto the scene with a sound that no one was doing or had really done before and I think itβs similar here. I think lots of people wanted more dance songs with a hook, a chorus, a strong beat, etc. which is why I think lots of people donβt seem to care for it on the first listen. Most people donβt tend to like music that is experimental, truly alternative. It deviates from the norm. We crave what we know, we want the thing we already know we like. Thatβs why pop music is, well, popular.
For me itβs all a plus. I wanted something like Pure heroine but different. I wanted a world for the music to exist in. I wanted an overarching theme. I wanted something funky and fresh. I wanted the unexpected. I wanted to be able to have the album on repeat and the last song flows right back into the first song. Iβll admit I was put off by the Solar Power single when it first came out because I did want her to return to the Pure Heroine vibe, but after listening to the whole album I see the vision. It was unexpected in a different way. I caught the vibe and Iβm here for it.
I guess what Iβm getting at is to me feel feels like this album is just bringing out the divide between PH stans and Melodrama stans. Idk I might be wrong, Iβd love to hear thoughts from others on why it seems to be a grower for a lot of people. For me the albumβs instant love. π
It is a decent album.
and since we're on the subject of music does Anna even like Azaelia Bank's music or just her craziness on social media?
I also wonder do they listen and/or have opinions about:
Marina
Sky Ferreira
Little Boots
Especially Marina, since her and Lana del Rey give off somewhat similar vibes in their music.
Sky Ferreira rarely makes music anymore, but her "Night Time, My Time" album is dope.
and of course Little Boots has a long discography of well crafted electropop bangers.
Lorde's first albums contain a lot of songs which I've got such a deep connection to.I'm talking about The Louvre, 400 Lux, Green Light, Hard Feelings, Homemade Dynamite, Buzzcut Season and others. On these songs the combination of divine+"heavy" instrumentals and super-relatable lyrics makes them deathless to me. Those songs also reflect very common feelings that you get throughout your lifetime. The new album is themed and I feel like this theme won't catch my heart or my ears so bad. When people started talking about the album, like 6 months ago, the term "psychedelic" has started to be mentioned, and I was thinking about Tamle Impala/MGMT style which do can hit you hard. But we've got pretty light and chill instrumentals which do not give you this Lorde feeling. Althought, I'm in love with Mood Ring anyways. Solar Power and SatNS are not so good for my opinion. ^(California is very nice)
So I just think that people who feel like me should just accept the different feeling that the album might get. What do you think?
I'm kinda surprised it's not at the moment as far as I can tell.
...but will we ever have a Lorde record about Motherhood?
I can't find it anywhere. None of the songs in my library play, and are completely greyed out. It's disappeared from her artist page. Help!!! Any other people having this problem? Or have a reason to why it's maybe happening?
