Was he cleared of the charges? Was there no conviction or orders for him to return money? Kung may kaso o imbestigasyon, ano po ang naging resulta?
I haven't come across a post on this, so I thought I'd go ahead & ask:
What do you all think of pork barrel spending? I know it's costly & leads to big fat bloated legislation that caters sometimes to the few at the expense of the many, but is it not also a potentially valuable bargaining tool?
Also, what would legislation against pork barrel spending look like? I know the line-item veto was one idea, but that seems to put so much power in the president's hands & nullifies any expected bargaining value of pork barrel spending across the board.
Another worry, is that laws against pork barrel spending on the legislative side (e.g. maybe something that says X amount of money from all taxpayers can't go to a small Y amount of constituents?, etc.) would have some costly & unforeseen consequences in terms of killing bills that aren't really instances of pork barrel spending.
