I notice that all topics concerning datingapps revolve around Grindr. Romeo is just as old as grindr and has about 2 million users.

Any experience with using PlanetRomeo?

I was having a hot convo with a guy, he shared his pictures and honestly those pictures seemed/were real like no obvious fake, the guy was insanely hot but not the pictures of a model, the picture any guy can take at home. So yeah we chatted a bit, he didn’t seem really brilliant but he was into me. Then I asked if he wanted to have my whatsapp he said yes but I don’t have it on my computer only on my phone (normal) but he didn’t add me despite of the fact I gave him my number. I also asked for his number to add him but he dodged. Then I told him several times I wanted real but he seemed to dodge like he stated he wanted to see me irl but didn’t tell me his address, and when I asked him for a date and a place to meet he dodged as if it was up to me, yet he didn’t react to my suggestions. I didn’t want to insist but he keeps telling me he wants to see me irl yet he doesn’t do any effort to reach (whatsapp, place and date of meeting,...).

But the suspicion came when I saw he had a second account on the app, full of contacts with the same pictures. I asked him if he was the same person or is someone had stolen his pics but he answered aggressively (I do understand, he might have felt spied on). Then he said he wanted a handsome bottom to which I answered well I’m here but he didn’t give me any explanation on why the two accounts, left me on read and I still don’t have his whatsapp, his address or a date/place to meet

He has contacts on his two accounts but much more on his second account than on his first.

Catfish or am I paranoid ? Anyway I hate losing my time if you don’t want to meet or be clear on your intentions I’m annoyed

Well I know Grindr is globally the No.1 application regarding gay apps. I live in Europe, so Planetromeo is the second choice. Which one do you prefer though?

- Constantly see the same people around you, unless blocking or using filters
- Seems to gather more cocky guys than planetromeo
- Not really fond of blocking either by me or by others

+ Better search radius, with the drawback of longer travel times

+ Much cheaper if one wants premium features
- Not so user-friendly as grindr and has some bugs, new website horrible
- No backup feature!

Personally, I use planetromeo more these days and I must say that I've chatted with much more interesting people than grindr. In reality, most people use both though, I guess.

I myself am a South East Asian and have lived almost 1.5 years in Germany. Im not an Asian twink but rather a bit muscular with facial hair. I look masculine but talks a little soft (have that slightly gay accent).

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

What does a writeup look like?

There isn't a strict set of guidelines for how to do an AOTY writeup. I encourage writers selected to go about it how they want to present their opinions. Writeups posted across the last two years have ranged from short reviews of the album to essays that are so long they have their own subreddit to navigate through them. Generally, I do suggest including both a background of the artist and album as well as some kind of deeper analysis, along with discussion questions at the end for the comments.

The Quality Post section of the Wiki has the an archive of AOTY posts to date if you're looking for inspiration.

How do I get a writeup?

Below (and above) is a Google Form that you can use to request up to 5 albums from 2020. Follow the instructions in the form, and everything should be fine. Requests can be filed from now until December 18th. If you're concerned about privacy with the form, your email will not be collected and I won't be able to see it.

What should I request?

If you want some advice from me on what to request if you want the best chance of getting a writeup:

• The albums you request must be from 2021, for obvious reasons. However, if an album came out in December 2020 and wasn't covered in last year's AOTY series, I will still consider it!
• If you would like to team up with someone else to co-author a writeup, that's allowed. Several people in the past have done this, particularly for highly coveted albums. Each album is only going to get one writeup day in order to cover as much ground as possible.
• Add some variety! We strive to be inclusive in terms of genre on this sub, and I've always tried to follow that with these writeups. If everyone was jus
