A list of puns related to "Peristalsis"
Can someone tell me if these artifacts at the pancreatic body and tail are from intestinal peristalsis or is it just intestinal gas? Thank you a bunch

Hi,
I'm going on about 12 months of only being able to have a bowel movement via medication (linzess & OTC laxatives). My bowels have pretty much stopped working. Due to the meds (pulling water into the colon) I go through 4-7 days with no bowel movement, then I have diarrhea for a day in which I have multiple liquid bowel movements. I was never diagnosed with COVID, but this started at the mid summer peak of the Pandemic. (I also have reoccurring pain in my knuckles and toes - which suggest some time of inflammatory response, and occasional episodes of what people describe as brain fog.) A colonoscopy showed no issues (no polyps, tumors, etc..), & no inflammation. I did get really sick very early on, (I attended a conference in Chicago about a week before COVID hit NYC and was sick for about a week after- the conference was international and had thousands of attendees so....)
There are neurons in your intestine that act as sensors and trigger peristalsis (cascaded muscle movements that push food through your intestine), and they are very similar to receptors in your olfactory system that respond to taste and smell. COVID shuts those down (the olfactory receptors), and for some people the effect seems to be permanent. My thinking is that these same neurons in my gut may not be signaling to engage peristalsis. I am wondering if anyone else may be experiencing similar problems. I have a test coming up that will evaluate food motility in the gut that will see if digested food moving at all. Even if that test shows that the motility triggers / neurons are not working, they wont really be able to establish causality, so I was thinking maybe at best I could corroborate via anyone with similar experiences.
If anyone else is having what is being diagnosed as severe constipation & you don't think you really are suffering from simple constipation (especially if it has gone on for more than 6 months...) let me know. Thanks!
Vignette gives a picture of manometry from stomach to small intestine (indicated peristalsis) and then asks what is the neurotransmitter that causes these peristalsis changes. Why is motilin more correct over Acetylcholine? Page 238 of FA 2020 says that M3 receptors increase gut peristalsis? Also, is motilin considered a neurotransmitter?
Can control the muscles in his throat
Whenever you bring the Drone to the Infested Boil, Lotus remarks something to the effect of "going into peristalsis", which is a medical term defined as such:
>the involuntary constriction and relaxation of the muscles of the intestine or another canal, creating wavelike movements that push the contents of the canal forward.
So the boil is a fleshy conduit which poops out Infested enemies and Hemocytes.
Tangentially, if you look up the meanings of many of the terms used in Warframe, (e.g. Bursa, Iliac), you'll find that many of them derive from anatomical & medical jargon.
EDIT: Question PROBABLY answered.
Hey everyone! Itβs the time of Corona and I canβt get to my doctor as quickly as I need to :( please please help.
Methane SIBO with Constipation. Dr. Told me to go Carnivore but I am having trouble digesting protein and fat. I get horrible acid reflux 24/7 after any protein or fat-lean cut or not. Iβm only eating tiny amounts. Only carbs seem to go through me.
I take a generic digestive enzyme. Iβve tried coffee, magnesium citrate, lemon juice, ginger, iberogast (doesnβt help) to try and help get this food to move out of my stomach and through my intestines. Instead it sits and rots...causing this constant burn and churn. After meat my stomach sounds like a clogged drain..gurgles and bubbles and now I never have an appetite and feel nauseous and weak all the time. Iβm female, 5β5 and now 100 lbs.
:( I want to eat carnivore or at least incorporate more meat and less of the food bacteria eat but I canβt digest and the acid reflux it causes is burning my throat and sinus cavities so badly. Itβs misery and Iβm in hell. What helps you digest? What stimulates peristalsis and motility or metabolism or whatever it is that keeps food moving through you? I never used to have this problem. Used to have a fast metabolism and Iβd be hungry every hour. Now I feel like a clogged drain. Please help!!! Thank you thank you thank you.
Not that I need to fart but can't trust it or anything... just asking for a friend.
