Any tricks for getting a very stubborn almost 3 year old to drink Pedialyte? Going on day 4 of a stomach bug and losing our minds. Thanks
ETA wow did not expect this to blow up. Thank you all for all of your suggestions. We've tried the syringe, dilution, a variety of fun cups, our local version of Gatorade -- all to no avail. He is thankfully still drinking some water, and almost always only if I'm drinking from my cup simultaneously, but the pediatrician would prefer that he take Pedialyte. I've frozen some to try a homemade popsicle later today.
We saw the doctor yesterday and will see him again for follow up today, for those of you who were concerned that my child needs medical attention.

I like to have a version of pedialyte on hand in case my toddler gets sick. I’m really struggling to find one that I’m comfortable with though. They all seem to have either sucralose or stevia in the Ingredients, but my understanding is that we shouldn’t be giving artificial sweeteners to toddlers. Is there any science to this? Which sweetener would you choose? Is there a brand you know that’s better?
I try to get the ones with stevia over sucralose as I seem to remember something something about sucralose being bad (but I can’t find the source now?).
Went to the pediatrician today because my son had a high fever, did all the nose swabs, and was told to keep him hydrated, water and pedialyte. The usual.
But then she said pedialyte popsicles. And I was like excuse me ma’am, back up. I never knew such a think existed! Just picked them up at CVS today and popped them in the freezer for tomorrow.

Pro tip: Pedialyte after a workout is a good idea.
The first time, I didn’t drink enough water w the pedialyte. The second time, I drank double the water and still went in and out mentally, had arrhythmic palpitations, muscle aches and joint pains, and felt like I was dying.
Anyone else ever experienced this? What has worked for you when dealing with this?
Drank a half liter pedialyte before bed slept like a rock and it’s amazing what good sleep and mabye the electrolytes right before bed did feel normal and heart rate only went up to 109 then came down when going to restroom.
My 10.5 month old has diarrhea, and the doctor’s office says he needs a clear liquid diet for 24 hours to clear the virus. That means Pedialyte or watered down Gatorade. We tried Pedialyte strawberry and grape, and baby will not drink it. He hasn’t really had sweet things like that. What do I do for a baby who has old had breast milk, formula, and food? He needs the fluids and electrolytes before he gets dehydrated. I’m worried I’m failing him…
UPDATE: Saw the doc today, and turns out the clear liquid diet is OUTDATED, and the current advise is to feed them EVERYTHING (except cow’s milk). What the hell?! The nurse on the phone just made me starve my baby for 24 hours?! I brought him home and nursed him, then gave him some cheese, then some formula and then nursed him before bedtime. He had another yucky poo 1.5 hrs after eating, but I’m all about feeding him everything instead of starving him. I’m so mad, embarrassed and exhausted now. Thank you to everyone who responded. We tried all of your tactics. This has been a terrible experience. Learn from me: feed your baby like crazy through a bought of diarrhea.
So, hear me out...
I have a pretty brutal IBS or IBD issue, so I need to avoid inflammation, if I can, but alcohol is inherently inflammatory, so that sucks.
Anyway, I drink a lot of whiskey. Straight or on the rocks; whatever, however you like. I love whiskey. Other stuff is okay, but bourbon is the best.
Anyway, my insides are a disaster, which means I sometimes end up shitting blood. Well, I started drinking metamucil, which helped, and I always have packets of Pedialyte. Well I had a case of white claw, and I started mixing in small amounts of Pedialyte and Medamucil with them over ice, and my butt feels so good now.
So, what do we call my new cocktail?
Holy crap. I’m on what I think would be considered a fairly aggressive Chicago plan (6 Days a week/ 45-60mpw), and after my morning run I just have zero energy left for the gym or other activities. I sleep 8+ hours a night and just have been upping my caffeine to compensate. Well, my wife had a hangover this past weekend and asked for Pedialyte. So just for kicks and giggles, I gulped some down after my last two runs, and it’s been a game changer for my energy levels. I’ve been doing daily Nuun tabs for months and those are cool but this is a different level. Thought I’d share!
I've been feeling dehydrated after starting sertraline. More so than normal and im wondering if it's okay to take pedialyte like 2 hours prior to taking the medication?
I also like pineapple and orange,but I also want to be safe with this.

Why isn't pedialyte on tap at bars?
My Dr. put me on a FODMAP diet. I've been drinking watered down pedialyte. First ingredient is dextrose, and I'm reading that anything ending in -ose is bad, bad, bad.
Now I'm wondering if this is something I should be avoiding.
I didn't drink too much were I was getting sick, (almost did last night but managed to hold it off) and I've never been to the point of being sick during withdrawal the next day 9r 2. But I do feel bad today. Combination of drinking poison and not eating. And I know if I continue this those more extreme withdrawal symptoms would come about.
Today I am not drinking anymore poison.
