A list of puns related to "Olio (app)"
Maybe some of you already know it and might already be using it too.
I came across this app recently and thought it was a good idea to share it. It's a food sharing app so that there is zero food waste. If you have something that you would like to give away, you post it online. Someone will get in touch with you through it and ask if its still available. If it is, you agree on an hour for the "Olier" to go pick it up.
And vice versa.
It also has a section for non food.
Everything is given away for free.
Any OLIO app users on the Swansea subreddit?
Just spreading the good word about the OLIO app. It's sort of like Freecycle or the free listings on Gumtree but geared towards surplus food or (essential) household items that can go to a better home. List them on the app.
Users can also volunteer to collect food waste from large supermarkets to distribute for free to the local community and food banks.
Been using it for a bit; really good Swansea community looking out for each other and fighting food waste.
Hi Everyone!
I just want to introduce you to this app OLIO. It let's you post preloved or handmade items (food and non-food) to giveaway for free. In that way we create less waste while giving our preloved items a new home. I only joined yesterday and was already able to giveaway many items I've been meaning to throw away.
Has anyone here based in the city used it? How do you find it?
I am currently doing a clear out and have a ton of random items. Olio is an app where you can list items and people can ask to collect them for free. In the uk, my items usually get picked up same day or next day which is brilliant. You can donate food or miscellaneous items, including clothing. It's perfect for those wanting to start s journey into minimalism. The app is great as items usually get viewed thousands of times within a day.
Does anyone know of any apps that are used in the triangle for zero waste? I've used Olio but there isn't any activity in this area. I know people post on Facebook marketplace but often it's just people selling stuff. I'm looking for a place to share excess fruits and veggies from the garden or products that I don't like but I don't want to go to a landfill. Anyone use an app like that?
A couple weeks ago I found myself broke and hungry. I saw the OLIO app on a website and decided to download it.
Its full of people giving away surplus food, fast food places thay have prepared orders that haven't been collected or delivered, and places such as pret that have unbought food that they don't want to bin.
I've basically lived off the app. They also do non-food items that you may be able to sell on or that may be useful to you around the house.
It's genuinely been a lifesaver for me. It's available worldwide and properly functional across multiple different countries. If you work in the food industry, it may be worth speaking to management to see if they're interested. In the UK a lot of places have to pay for waste to be collected, so it helps keep costs down for businesses too.
I was reading about OLIO on r/BritishSuccess and wondering if there is much of a community using it in Brighton. It's listed as one of the 'active' places. Seems like a good idea. (Food sharing - as in if you have a heck tonne of bananas, you can post them or you can request stuff also I think in case someone has surplus - like freecycle but with food.)
So just wondering if people have used it and what their experiences have been if so.
OLIO is an app that was created in order to stop food waste, it's free to use and join. (it's in 49 countries.)
People put extra food they aren't going to eat on it, and restaurants/cafes put their surplus on at the end of the day (stuff that would otherwise have gone to waste.)
As a student, I've picked up food from pret a manger a couple of times, their food is nice but normally out of my budget, so it was really nice to get it for free and share with a friend. I also picked up some pot noodles from an individual.
I thought sharing this would be helpful for people unsure of where their meals will come from, in tough times, anything helps.
It's an app for giving away food and other non food items to avoid waste. :)
I've given away so many things and have gotten so much from it too.
I've given away coffee syrups, teas, extra desserts from a dinner party, and received clothes, shoes, tea, mugs and will be picking up apple syrup. Cinnamon and ZW deodorant tomorrow evening!
I'd recommend anyone download it and see it it's active in your area, and even if it isn't, you could be the first to start a community of sharing/avoiding waste there!
Also interested in how others are finding the app already, and how it's working in other areas!
If your looking for a free dinner at night I'm one of glasgow food waste helper & I volunteer for a company called olio check us out in link below:

Every day all over the UK we give away almost 100000 food items that shops would normally toss in the bin & none of the food is bad we have to go through a lot of training for storing food & a lot of the stuff we give away every day 6pm+ for example all the left over from coffee shop pret a manger, we hand out every day fresh baguettes, sandwiches, wraps, toasts, salad boxes & much more.
All you need to do is download the olio app for android & apple to request all the food that is given away free, their also a section for non food items where you can find from prams,Hoover, beds & much more, the app is free to download & their always food getting given out.
I do the Saturday collection & I give to normally 18 people & I collected from pret a manager in glasgow, Last collection i got 16 baguette, 14 salad boxes, 19 wraps, 14 fruit bowls &18 sandwiches. The manager in the store said it was like Β£400 worth of food so check out the link above & download the app it free & I'm sure you will find something you will want, you can also give stuff out so if your moving or doing a clean out you can post it to the app & people from from your area will save it from the bin. So remember check us out in the link above or below to read about us or search in google or apple app store for olio to check us out.

Hey guys,
I found this app via Facebook ads and I think the idea is pretty cool. Maybe those here who are in need could profit?
The goal is to avoid food and other waste by giving it away instead of throwing it.
For example I buy too many yoghurts and don't eat them. Now I realise I won't finish them before the date. Instead of throwing them away I put them in the app and someone in the neighbourhood can pick them up (it's possible to put a meeting point like close shop or so to keep the address private).
Or I buy a bottle of new cleaner and hate the smell after 1 clean. Someone else might appreciate it etc.
Unfortunately it's not very used in my country (France) but there seem to be posts from English speaking countries.
Good luck if you try!
So I have finally started using garlic in my recipes, and I have decided to make pasta Aglio e Olio, since I have been wanting to do it for many years ever since I saw BWB video but never got the chance.
The only problem is that I do not have red pepper flakes, nor does any supermarket near me. I do have some chili powder however. Is it possible to replace the red pepper flakes?
Although I don't really like spicy food that much, this particular dish seems very tasty and simple but I am afraid that I will end up ruining the recipe.
Also instead of Parmesan I have Grana Padano, is that a good cheese to grate on top?
Also great for getting free stuff
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to take a minute to first of all day WOW, Iβm impressed with what you all have been able to find on your dives! And secondly, have any of you heard of the Olio food sharing app?
Itβs an app you can download on your phone, and if you have some extra food you will not be consuming, you can post it on the app, for free, to anyone who is nearby and needs some food.
It started off in the UK, and since hearing about it, Iβve tried to kinda make it a personal mission to make others aware.
I give away a lot of produce I get from foraging my neighborhoods fruit trees & from my garden.
Anywho, just wanted to pass on some great Info!!
I love aglio e olio but I swear it is the least efficient use of garlic. In most dishes, or on its own, one bulb is enough for me, or two if roasted. But when it comes to slicing or mincing, it just disappears!
Like I've had company, and 20 bulbs barely fed 3 normal people. Wtf? That's over 6 bulbs of garlic per person.
So how much garlic do you guys use? I don't want to feel alone in my ungodly ability to devour aglio e olio.
Does anyone know what happened to the Olio City app? The app for finding everything going on in the city that weekend and best restaurants and bars to visit. It was a great app but for some reason I deleted it and can no longer find it. Is there any other apps out there that are like this?
Iβm a food distributor so would know, just download the app and request food
