In MTBMB Eminem demonstrates all his various styles from his melodic lyricism from 'Infinite' on songs like 'Those Kinda Nights' and 'In Too deep' and his emotional, meaningful songs like 'Stan' on 'Darkness' and arguably the foundation on which his career is built upon, shock rap, which is present in most all of his songs on the album, but more prevailant in songs like 'Stepdad' and 'Leaving Heaven' (which is one of, if not my favourite song from this album.) The lyricism alone on this album is amazing, he really has proven he is the "G-O-A-T," like he says in 'Premonition.' Upon first hearing the album, I was like "meh... this is okay," but the more I listened, the more I loved it, there is not a single flaw I can find in this album, except for the fact I wish it was longer. I'm open to other opinions, please comment below with your thoughts, I welcome a discussion.
TL:DR; Eminem's newest album is one of, if not the best he's released, ever.

I mean its about as good as mbdtf. Dont know why i changed my mind, but its alright. It has some very eminem moments, but pretty good beats and features.
Just wondering lol
The album just keeps getting better after every listen...anyone else agree?
One of my favorites is -
And I'm back with Andre, baby
And the doctor's operating
Other stats:
Eminem now has ten consecutive UK number 1 albums, a record
Only three songs debuted at number 1 in the UK last year - Vossi Bop, I Don't Care and I Love Sausage Rolls
Juice WRLD becomes the first artist to score a posthumous no 1. single since 2007.
Roddy Richo's The Box finished just 93 sales below Eminem at no 2. This is one of the tightest margins in chart history.

So I've waited awhile to do this so I could both let the album properly digest as well as let the sub calm down a little bit. You guys know the context, so I'll just jump into my thoughts. I'll talk about the standout tracks, the highs and lows, and then the overall state of the album and hopes for future projects. Not that anyone cares what I think, but how else am I supposed to waste my precious time? Exactly.
The album opens with a stabbing/burial that transitions into one of the harder beats with some truly haunting female vocals. Premonition is a one verse track, but it goes hard as hell. Em is flowing super well on this track and he has some very powerful lines, like the opening bar, the letter v bar, and the Swae Lee bar. There's some questionable parts like the zipper line and the subject matter in general. It's treaded ground at this point, he didn't really say anything new. Overall, Premonition is a dope track that definitely stands out to me. 8.5/10
You Gon' Learn is fucking awesommeeeeeee. The beat (I believe Royce's first on this album?) is slower paced with these beautiful background vocals and a relaxing drumline. Royce has a 10/10 verse that has a good amount of personal and social commentary. Em himself has an equally good verse, in which he reflects on his past and his humble origins. Again, this is familiar subject matter, but the delivery and bars make it sound fresh. Definite stand out track, 10/10.
Those Kinda Nights and In Too Deep I'll lump in together because I have similar things to say about them. To me, they're some of the worst tracks off the album. Both tell fictuous stories about partying and girls with poppy choruses and beats. Immediately for this, I see them as kinda weak. They also both have corny bars, although I'd say they're less cringy and more funny ("No, I'm bi"). The bars are alright, but I just find it weird that we're hearing these Ed Sheeran features and fake love story tracks still. For what they are, I'd say they're alright though. ~4-6/10 for both, mood dependent.
Godzilla is next. Juice WRLD kills the hook, the bars are on point, the beat is simplistic but hard. But really the flow here is the high point. Em is out here flowing like a fountain. I personally like the last verse for it's execution, how he goes from fast to faster to supersonic. It doesn't feel like going fast for the sake of it, it feels conceptual. Everything about this song is hype and smooth. 10/10.
Darkness, I'm sure we've all h

Anyone knows if there's a physical shop where I can check out in Mumbai?
Maybe it was the wow factor? It could be that I'm just still so happy that Em dropped something so funky fresh overnight that differentiated so much from Revival. But here are some other reasons:
The Production
Kamikaze had so many fresh, new takes on the classic trap-style beat I just could not stop listening. From the classic boom-bappy drums yet synth-focused melodies on Fall, or the dark, dreamy yet hard trap drums on The Ringer, it really made me go "wow, finally something new". Brought me back to Kendick's "DAMN".
MTBMB had a lot of fresh beats but holy shit did the "extra stuff" get in the way. Too many explosions and gun shots and whatever other hip-hop clichรฉ sounding samples they could throw in. Took me out of the You Gon' Learn track so much. Just let the music be music i dont need the filler as much but like i said its all perference.
The Raps
Kamikaze was, as Em said, just the first words that came to mind. Every bar based itself around the "do first, ask for forgiveness later" mentality and he fucking delivered on it. So much so that anyone coming at him for something he said, would be returned with 2 or 3 full diss tracks in his arsenal ready to fire at will. Not only are Fall and The Ringer slaughters, but slaughters with off the top(ish) lyrics that shot through emcees like radioactive bullets.
MTBMB had the same vibe of "fuck with me and die" but it sounded more refined and maybe even a bit overthought. dare i say some of the lyrics were cornier? I mean I guess Em always had corny though clever lyrics but for me the corniness shone through a bit more on this. Stepdad was a chore to get through, the club one with Ed Sheman did not feel gangstery nor did it pump me up due to the predictability of the beat and structure of the song. On top of all that, for Em to judge mumble rappers than have one feature on his next album was an interesting move.
I donno. I could have waited longer if it meant less filler and more quality tracks that would have left us with something fresher than MTBMB. A few songs were dope, but mainly i felt like the reignition of the Slim Shady fame flame got to Em a bit and he underdelivered or tried a bit too hard on MTBMB.
Godzilla slapped though omg ๐ช

I really like the album, think Eminem's killing it lately
First off amazing album but I was curious to know if anyone laughed as hard as I did at the end of "Godzilla" when Em says "man stop" ?
/uj Die Lit is better tho

literally only Godzilla and Darkness were good, everything else was just eh at best. Em really fell off.
