A list of puns related to "Mont Blanc (dessert)"
Does anyone know where I can get Mont Blanc for dessert here in town? Or maybe in Richmond?
I have been absolutely craving a Mont Blanc with the fall weather and my googling has not been showing me results. Was hoping to see if anyone knew of a good spot to get one
I know this sub appreciates the likes of moonman, delike, etc. for offering affordably priced clones of popular fountain pen designs. At least in most of those examples they put their own spin on the designs, even if very minimally. But, I wanted to highlight something that I noticed recently.
For the longest time you could instantly call out a MB 146 and 149 as all of the fakes were just cartridge converter pens whereas the genuine article had an internal piston with the clear slatted ink window. Well China has been paying attention and now has cloned them... perfectly.
The biggest tell will obviously be the steel nib vs the gold on a real Mont Blanc but I could see unscrupulous people selling these new really good MB clones as genuine on places like eBay, or worse - /r/pen_swap.
Just something to take into consideration if you're in the market for a MB 149/146!! I'd hate to see someone get taken for $300+ on a $30 Chinese clone.
I love fountain pens, but Iβm just learning. I decided to treat myself to a Mont Blanc fountain pen for my birthday. I received it today. I went to the boutique to buy ink. They inked it there. As soon as I started writing, I knew something was off. It was supposed to be fine but didnβt write like one. The salesperson knew nothing about pens, so I asked to speak to the manager. She noticed that the writing was broader, and a lot of ink was coming out with each stroke. It was blotchy and smudging every time I wrote. The manager knew very little about pens and suggested I get it serviced. I just received it an hour ago. I called customer service, and two of their ambassadors admitted that they didnβt know much about the product. They told me I could return it and buy another if I wanted, but I donβt want to. This experience has soured me on the Mont Blanc fountain pens. Iβm now looking at purchasing a Lamy 2000 or a Sailor 1911, but Iβm open to suggestions if you have any.
Update: I sent pictures to customer service. I spoke to a young lady that wanted to see the nib. She emailed me back and said that she believes she knows what the problem is. She didnβt tell me. She said she would call the boutique and speak to management. Iβm going to try out other pens.
So as the title says i blind bought the Explorer and i recieved it today i sprayed a little bit on my hand to try it out.. the opening smelled fresh like citrus but after like 10-15 mins it started smelling something really weird dont know how to describe it but i almost get a puke feeling it just smells really bad. It smells like rubber chemical to me. Is this just me or what do you guys say?
I think Mont Blanc, as a house has potential to be well respected and a big player in the industry - but cloning popular DNAs is harming their reputation
I was considering attempting Mont Blanc next year with a guide but it costs thousands of dollars, Aiguille du Tour is a lot more affordable. Has anyone here done it? Should I add anything to it? Any other inside information? Thanks!
My fiance gave me a montblanc for Christmas.
We are actually getting married tomorrow and I wanted to sign our certificate with the Mont Blanc.
I typically use noodlers turquoise ink. I do have some pilot's Japanese sink which I useless often since discovering noodlers.
So my question is, is it bad to fill the Mont Blanc with non-Mont Blanc ink? Can I use Noodlers?
I'm right before that the pilot ink is somehow optimized for pilot pens. Not sure how the true that is.
I've got lots of fountain pens, some new (TWSBI Eco, Kaweco Sport, Pilot VP), some vintage (Parker 51s, '40s Waterman). Love 'em all. I have never owned a Mont Blanc, and I don't know that I've even used one. I have some strong perceptions (which may be prejudices) about them, though.
I perceive the Mont Blanc brand as one that's become a generic luxury brand to which pens are incidental. But given my lack of experience with them, I don't know whether they are great pens to use.
Educate me! Reinforce or change my opinions! Should I put a MB on my wishlist? If so, new or vintage?

Anyone super excited to try these next year? As someone who tired the Hoka Evo Speedgoat's and loved the cushion to weight ratio but could not get on with the tight toe box these Altra Mont Blanc's could be the answer for 100km+ races.
Also like the look of the Boa system...looks like an up and coming trend as I have seen a few new shoes with this system in place.
I have a 50ml "shoe" bottle of Mont Blanc ink (would have been purchased between 2004 and 2009, no idea of manufacture date). I don't think it's ever been opened; the box is long gone. The label on top has a black background with a subtle texture of the MB snowflake. The color is not identified by name, there's just a circle that is filled in black, the ink appears to be black. The underside of the bottle is stamped with the numbers 3075 and 09073. Normally I wouldn't be too concerned about just trying it, but I know some MB black inks have or have had iron gall in the formula and I want to make sure that I take appropriate care if that's the case. Any pointers on how to ID which MB black this is, and if it contains iron gall?
