A list of puns related to "Modern School (New Delhi)"
I find these sort of stories specifically fascinating because they seem almost like original fiction, really--taking the same characters but changing nearly everything about their background and interests. But which ones, to you, really work well? Do you just really like Naruto transposed into an everyday high school world, or think the human MLP fics add so much to the characters? What do you love and why?
I read someoneβs comment on a different post mentioning a modern slasher revival, and it got me thinking about modern horror movies and tv shows that feel like old school horror. By old school horror, it could be a throw back to any decade, but my personal focus is on the 80s. In the last five or so years, thereβs been some great 80s style horror thatβs set in the 80s or just feels like a 80s movie. A lot more movies have been going with a synth style score and overall 80s vibe. Stranger things did a great job with old school, Stephen king horror vibes, and in 2018, we got the underrated Summer of 84 and the Halloween reboot. In 2021, we got Midnight Mass with felt like a classic, mid-budget, 80s horror movie in the form of a miniseries. Thereβs obviously many more examples but Iβm trying not to go into too much detail. However, while the new Scream movie looks likes an awesome throwback that I canβt wait for, it features one of my biggest complaints with throwback movies and just modern horror movies in general. The colors. So many movies these days go for a muted, bland, almost grant color palette featuring mostly greens and greys. Itβs not at all visually pleasing and I wish more movies would not use that color palette. The Halloween reboot did a great job of having an old school color palette while still seeming very modern. Does anyone else really like the recent throwbacks to older decades, and what are your thoughts on this topic?
Long post!

I give consent to myself to just display my full name. Really its not going to give me any harm since I really don't have that much private info to hide.
edit: I studied in the same Catholic School in Metro Manila for almost 10 years, and, just like many religious institutions my head teacher, let's call him Sir 'O' as in Orange, said in my parent-student-teacher meeting in late 2021 he has once worked & been in a school that grants freedom of learning, a.k.a. school for gifted kids. The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) he mentioned.
Along the lines was 'freedom to learn' as their motto. The ability to reject tradition was valued in their school, essential for future leaders that wish to baguhin ang sistema, change the system, the same values most scholarships look for and basically what sparked changed why Europe and North America are developed nations. They build future leaders that stand from the crowd, if I'm not sure, is the value that most religious institutions/schools reject when a student has that thinking.
My araling panlipunan teacher said that he already had to adjust how he grades me since the first quarter. Sayang ang talento sabi niya. As much as I would want to grade you higher, you have to stick to the standard of the school. "Para kang nagbigay ng cake, hinihingi ko slice lang binigay mo sa'kin buong kahon".
Modules are such a mess. I gave my all to this school (a Catholic School in Quezon City) yet it just feels like my efforts to just help this country are censored. I mean this in the nicest way possible, its like teachers here in the Philippines put the students who stood out from the crowd down on purpose. Its a strong generalization but its making the country become stagnated, parang kung sino dapat ang nagpapaangat ng bansa natin sila pa yung pumipigil na tayo ay maging developed tbh.
**Nerdy paragraph up next:
I gave engineering models of delta works in the Nederlands to reclaim land from the sea and the Shinbashira Structure of Japan how the Japanese withstood nature for a millennium, philosophies from theologians and ideologies like existentialism and Karl Marx and Darwin's evolution; and how science, poverty, and religiousness are all interconnected; music that advertises a foreign language to the western world and music theory, European art that built the wor

I have played some modern games such as Dragon Quest XI and Bravely Default, but they are often described as being "old school" in style. What are some examples of relatively new JRPGs that are not old school? I'm particularly interested in JRPGs that are turn based as opposed to action RPGs.
Also, what makes a JRPG "old school" vs modern? I expect the label is at least a bit subjective, but I wonder what common features the community generally agrees on.
By old school I specifically mean the turn-based and grid-based gameplay. NOT looking for action roguelikes.
I have played the mystery dungeon series and would like to know if there are more good ones that are relatively recent and not from the 80s or 90s
I have such a soft spot for those addicting old school 90s romance novels (with the alpha males, traditional gender dynamics, formulaic plot lines & tropes, etc.)....the new Mills and Boons donβt hit the same way. Are there any books from the 2000s that are similar?
Important Note and Content Warning: This series will contain allusions to teenage pregnancy and repopulating a species in future parts. All parts will be SFW.
Summary: Itβs been a month since you became friends with your classmate and things have been going well for both of you. After midterms, they decide to invite you to their favorite restaurant to celebrate before you have to head home for winter break. But on your way back from dinner, you decide to make a confession in an unconventional way.

I know with bulletproof certainty Narz had to be done for statutory rape by now, that Perfection transitioned, the in many respects unfathomable power of the human brain - my human brain - has this all worked out with calculations my innate self couldn't express to my conscious outer self. All confirmed by logging on to later formative haunt tumblr and every bit of nous being right when people came up in my dash.
Anyway who are some internet people you sometimes still wonder about.
When I say old school toxicity I mean the kinda stuff X-box live got a bad rep for way back in the days of the first xbox. It seems that anytime I go to play a AAA game that has multiplayer and there is a chat feature it's like
"oh look an in game chat. I can have friendly banter with the community while I play."
NOPE. Now I get it, this is the internet. I'm an older dude. I've been around this block. I just figured eventually moderation + time would do something... but its like 20 years later, and its still the same. Check chat and it looks like this:
I get it, those people exist, what I do not understand is how games companies can go "That's the kinda person we want in our community right there." instead of going "Yeah you're giving our brand a bad name, so were gonna permaban you and refuse you a refund when you go full Karen trying to get unbanned."
Now I know what's said in online chat doesn't reflect a companies beliefs, everyone knows that.... but when you let it slide for this long and we don't see improvement it becomes hard not to think "Wait, are these guys actually okay with whats getting said in their games? Or do they just not care since they already got our money?" and I get not wanting to draw lines on what people can say and where, but on the inverse if we can exercise our "free speech" to say horrible shit, a company can and should exercise theirs to say "not in my house."
I guess ultimately I just wanna know why are these people still allowed into online games? Why are they not getting banned from their games? It seems like the absolute worst punishment I will see is someone gets "permabanned" and then a week later they are back either unbanned, bought a new game, made new account. Like wtf how to the point that I'm about to add online gamers to the list of things that can survive a nuclear apocalypse, right next to cockroaches.

The above isnt the exact model but its pretty close.
Closing on a house today. I'm really wanting to start going down the rabbit hole of home automation. I'm going to start small with home assistant on a rPi and some simple lights and (hopefully) some smart vents to keep heating / cooling costs down. Its a pretty big house (split level) and its just me and my dogs most of the time. I have my kiddos every other weekend. I plan on getting an HVAC specialist to come by and check things out and make sure smart vents wont cause pressure issues and thus wear out my unit. Another project i'd like to tackle as noted in the title is replacing the intercom system (which doesnt appear to be working) with something more interesting. I'm thinking some type of tablet or smart display to control things in the room (temp/lighting/shades/etc) and maybe also still function as a type of intercom system.
Has anyone gone through this already? Tips? Ideas on what to do / use? Pitfalls? I'm just genuinely curious what others would do / have done. I've been lurking here for quite some time and now that I have a house that is my own I really want to make it as smart / automated as makes sense.
Thanks!
Iβve been subbing around a lot of different buildings & districts. One thing Iβve noticed is that I canβt stand the look/design of modern schools. They are so plain feels more like I am in a hospital. I also hate the ones that have walls that pull up/garage doors and βlearning commonβ areas with flexible seating. As a sub Iβve found that the more flexible you are with seating, the more chance of misbehavior. I like the traditional schools the most. Does anyone else feel the same way or am I the only one?
Order some stuff, half of it expired. No customer support number, chat replies late and when they do instead of refund they reorder that expired stuff. The stuff they delivered again was expired (even when I told them to check the expiry), now customer service not responding. Verdict: horrible experience plus time wasted never ordering again.
Edit: Recieved mail that some amount will be refunded for the expired products (half were expired and half were not so ofcourse that's good) but it's not about the money but the lack of responsibility of blinkit or associates to check the expiry date and they managed to skip it twice, wasted my time also, but I'm content and probably won't be using their services again atleast for products with small expiration range.
