Yesterday Microsoft bought Activision and they will be a big player in the Metaverse now too. I was reading about the NFT plans of Microsoft and they even have plans of launching their own cryptocurrency.

And of course all the other big ones will step into that field too. Apple, Twitter, EA Games,...

For now they collab with other coins, i think Microsoft did something with ENJIN, EA Games has some kind of partnership with TRAC, Tesla of course pumps and uses DOGE. But wouldnt it be better and more logical for them to do all this In-house?

They have the money and they can hire the talent, so i was wondering if it will be like back than, you remember when NOKIA stock was skyrocketting to like 50 usd in the year 2000. cause it was basically the only phone available. than the other companies introdced their phones, the stock fell to 2 usd or whatever.

I am afraid sometimes, that the coins we see now, peaked already and we wont see the ATH again, cause of course crypto will rise and NFTs and crypto, web3, metaverse have a bright future, but what if not our beloved coins will profit, but the stocks of Apple, Microsoft, Facebook,...

What if Microsoft would start developing a new Windows 11 based Mobile OS, from ZERO, avoiding the Windows Phone Flop?

The requisites that are already present:

•Native Android App Support

•OS optimized for touch

•Wonderful UI

•Arm support

If an OS like Win11 would exist on phones, I'll be switching immediately!

The acquisition is probably about a lot of things - XBOX console and PC gaming, cloud streaming and virtual worlds, owning content IP, expanding to mobile etc. It feels like every company has to mention the Metaverse to justify big investments today. And maybe that's why Satya Nadella and Phil Spencer mentioned it in the conference call yesterday, but sooner or later virtual worlds on all hardware platforms will play a bigger role, including augmented reality. And franchises play an important role as we have seen with Pokemon Go. It was the novelty of the location based gameplay but they couldn't achieve the hype with their original game, Ingress. I marked some parts of the transcript that highlight the problem with app store fees and as long as AR glasses will work together with smartphones, that will be part of Microsoft's AR strategy.

My question to you is: can Microsoft get better deals by owning more important content? Or will they be able to make their own successful mobile app store? Or is it about third-party payments within apps that could be more flawless across the Microsoft ecosystem? Or something else that I haven't considered?

Does Windows 10 Mobile still download apps from Microsoft Store? I'm looking to upgrade my Lumia 640 to be able to play some games from Microsoft store

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas to all of you!

So, I’m getting this notifications while I play that I can redeem points to my Microsoft account. I used to get them quite frequently, but now when I open the mobile app to get them, it says that I need to subscribe to a XGP plan (which I am) to get the points.

Already uninstalled the app, but it doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So, the Xbox mobile app updated yesterday (Android version 2110.1026.2214) and now there's a new tab on my profile page with some Rewards activities.

I guess this is a test since I didn't found anything about it on forums and some friends updated their apps to the same version but didn't get to this screen:

• Use the Xbox mobile app - 5 points per day, with a 5 day streak (up to 25 points), resets at 9 pm PDT
• Play Microsoft Jewel - 5 points, it's a game inside the Xbox app, resets at 9 pm PDT
• Play a game on PC - 10 points, - resets at 9 pm PDT
• Play with friends on PC - 100 points, don't know if it resets daily or not since this one didn't unlocked after an AOE IV multiplayer match
• Link a social account (Steam, Twitter, etc.)- 2 points
• Have more than seven friends on Xbox - 3 points
• Subscribe to Xbox Game Pass - 3 points

My app is in english but I'm from Brazil (this is the app location as well). If I change it to the US, these activities disappear.

Did anyone else got this update?

I have been trying to get this sorted for the past three days and nothing I seem to do makes any difference. Hopefully someone here can help me out.

My workplace uses SonicWall to allow for remote log in to our machines there. For the past year or so, I have been using NetExtender on Windows 10 with my desktop at home and it paired with Microsofts Remote Desktop very well. Rarely had any issues of connectivity.

I recently bought the new MacBook Pro 16" (never used MacOS so I am still new to all this) but I wanted to set up the ability to get into my machine at work. So I followed the same settings I used with my Windows desktop and tried to connect. However, after I got through SonicWall, I would get a 0x240 error on the MRD application. Fiddled around with the settings but nothing really worked.

In doing the troubleshooting, I thought maybe it was my router that was blocking something? I don't know. But I set up my iPhones hotspot, connected my MacBook to that iPhone and tried to log in. To my surprise, everything worked as it did if I was on my Windows Desktop. SonicWall connected and then MRD booted up to my machine at work.

So I assumed it was something with my wifi connection and swapped out the router. After everything was setup with a new different router, I tried to connect again and I ended up with the same error at MRD that I did with the first router.

Additionally, when I take the MacBook to work and connect to their wifi, I can remote into my machine via MRD without connecting via SonicWall (as I am already on works network probably).

Does anyone have any inkling as to what I am doing that would cause this?

I have Microsoft Teams on desktop and mobile device. Currently I get notifications on both desktop and mobile device when I'm active on my desktop. It is very annoying. A temporary solution I'm currently using is to enable Do Not Disturb in my mobile device while I'm active on my desktop, but it will also mute notifications from other apps.

So I'm looking for a better way to prevent Microsoft Teams from sending notifications to my mobile device when I'm active on my desktop. Can anyone help? Thank you.

All the consumer-oriented features (which I assume were carried over from the Lumia days), would be a great suit for mobile imo. It has almost everything Google Photos has - video editing, auto-generated content, 3D effects, filters, etc). It's neat to have these on PC but like a lot of people, I'm usually using my phone and Google's video/movie editor just isn't as good. It's a bit of a chore to transfer videos to my PC on the times I need to make a quick edit.

I know OneDrive exists but the photo/video editor there feels like an afterthought. Does anyone know why there hasn't been a dedicated Photos app from MS on Android/iOS?
