A list of puns related to "Metastasis"
So, on Wednesday, my husband goes in for his first post chemo CT scan (12 rounds FOLFOX scan since his entire bowel removal in June). My anxiety has shot through the ROOF now that the date is approaching. The plan is CT scans every 3 months but I'm wondering if I should push for PET scans. His staging for CRC is T4a n2a m0 with spread to 5 lymph nodes and "extensive perineural invasion." It's especially this last part that confuses me. If cancer has spread to the nerves, does it follow the same path of metastasis? (CRC most commonly spreads to liver, then lungs). Early on he was having tail bone pain and leg neuropathy (before chemo) that concerned me. The neuropathy actually ninproved during treatment so a part of me is worried the chemo was helping it because it has to do with spread to the nerves. Sorry, I know these questions are complicated and good for a Dr but my husband is taking a certain path of not wanting to know information and I'm trying to respect that and not ask all these questions to the drs (no matter how hard I try to ask them it's his wishes to convey this to me only, they inevitably relay the info to him and gives him useless anxiety).
I had a complete thyroidectomy for follicular last year followed by RAI. I have another RAI coming up next month. In the scan after the first RAI there was a "functioning thyroid remnant" detected.
My endocrinologist says it's not possible to detect metastases in other distant regions until the remnant in the throat is gone completely. My question is does this not raise the risk of leaving distance metastases if any, untreated, by waiting for the throat remnant to get fully removed by RAI?
I might be missing something here, and my doc is not exactly telling me much except that it's very low risk.
This is not for me, but for a family friend. F60, around 160cm tall, has breast cancer in the past but had it treated.
She was feeling a lot of discomfort in her abdomen, and thought maybe she had a stomach bug that did not go away, but upon further inspection, the doctors found out that she has stage 3 ovary cancer that has spread to her peritoneum and another organ that I do not recalk at the moment.
Is this gonna be it? Is it a death sentence? We're scared for her and for those that need her. She's an animal rescuer that acts pretty much alone and has 5+ dogs that need her. My family helps when possible, but she's been nursing those strays back to health mostly by herself. She's a good soul and I'd hate to see her go like this.
I was diagnosed Stage 1a in January 2020. No nodes involved after sentinel node biopsy. Triple positive. After bilateral mastectomy, chemo (sort of, long story), and completed Herceptin I'm now NED. On Tamoxifen.
I had an ultrasound on my neck last week because of enlarged lymph nodes. It showed "multiple areas of decreased echogenicity" which basically means I have enlarged lymph nodes (duh). My oncologist is sending me for a CT of my neck and chest.
I was doing some reading and learned a little about skip metastasis. Apparently, cancer can skip the axillary nodes. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Or any insight into enlarged neck nodes? TIA!
Edit: The nodes were swollen before I got my booster. They've been swollen for months.
Edit: CT will be on Monday the 27th with results on Wednesday. I'll update then.
In Pyros new video (The most followed person on TikTok made the worst show ever) he makes multiple mentions to breaking bad and one to metastasis, do you think we might get a long form video comparing the two?
Does anyone have any experience with bone mets? Gone from liver to bone. Any NED?
I was thinking about when cancer metastasis occurs it infiltrates the normal functioning parts of the body and makes them weak, diseased and abnormal.
Same thing occurs when traumatizing abuse happens(once like rape or over extended periods like parental/spousal abuse) . Every normal thought gets infiltrated by these abuse thoughts and and makes them diseased and abnormal. The person loses the ability to think and respond normallly.
And finally, just like cancer, you have to get extended periods of therapy / surgery( surgical no contact ) done to finally be able to be a near functional person with no hope of ever fully recovering again.
Hence, thought metastasis ( comment a better name if you can)
Remember those messages in the corner of the screen in the Half-Life 2 mod, "Minerva Metastasis"? I've been trying to find the files that they source from so I can edit them to say funny shit.
File I've mostly been looking in: common > minerva > metastasis
I'm requesting some support regarding my diagnosis and decisions I need to make from anyone who has 1st hand experience please? About 2 months ago I became aware of issues regarding bathroom BM habits. Traces of blood during emptying (mild), that developed into mild to moderate stomach cramping. Typically it was controllable with over-the-counter medicines. Two weeks ago the cramping become severe enough that prompted me to visit the emergency room, fearing I had IRS or Ulcerative Colitis.
Post MRI, CT, Colonoscopy, and PET scan, it turned out to be cancer. The PET scan cleared my other organs (other than liver), and besides the issues with BM's (slight manifestation of any problems), I'm otherwise healthy. Now the question: the oncologist is suggesting the most aggressive chemo regiment known to mankind (keeping it humorous). Infusion every-other-week, but taking the pump for 2 extra days post office infusion at home. Then pump removal, and thorough hydration the same day. Skip a week, and then rinse and repeat.
Has anyone decided to go a different route? I've heard the side-effects can be almost as deadly as the disease? Sores in the mouth (can you even eat with these?), weird nervous system effects like extreme sensitivity to hot/cold just to name a few. I know it may seem I'm trying to have my cake and eat it too. But I would just really like to have some discussion with people like me who might have some insight into these questions? For clarification purposes, I have not yet had my first chemo session. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Upon rewatching the anime it talks about 2 high-school students missing I know one is >!Nanohoshi!< but is another told of in the books and if so who are they?
Is it metastasim? I am a bit lost here as this website listed it as metastasem..
Thanks!
i find it so common that people keep spamming metastasis in wave 2 or in general before wave 21 when it is unnecessary and only every 4th or so game i play with a new assmeta support i dont have to emote spam them to stop what theyre doing. its become very tiring to have to find someone playing assmeta and then on top have to explain the whole deck over and over again. so for anyone thinking about playing it do your dd a favor and read this first: https://randomdice.gg/decks/guide/Ass%20meta its a pretty generalized starter guide to the deck that picks up every issue. one thing i would add to it is that summon dices below 3 pips are pretty much always worth it to joker and at the start, try to get as many summon dices out as you can since that way you can spawn a 4 pip or higher for example without having to buy any more dice than the ones to fill your board.
Greetings fellow Dungeon Fighters.
Recently, there has been an influx of players who are interested in DFO lore. However, there seems to be a bit of confusion among the community of where to start. Though there are certain websites such as the Dungeon & Fighter Universe (DFU) archive which are dedicated to story and lore, the official English localizations/translations can get a bit 'questionable' at times and the page navigation can be difficult to those unfamiliar with κ°λλ€μ, the Hangul alphabetical order. Additionally, these websites sometimes miss or omit old stories and mostly provide generic lists of event/term synopses. They fail to go in-depth about topics where dialogue and context may be necessary, and do not allow one to create effective connections between the story's plot and its characters.
Given that information, I believe the best starting place in the lore would be the 'Metastasis [μ μ΄(θ½η§») jeoni]' since it acts as a main driving force within the story and serves as a branching point for other major story plot points. Moreover, there seems to be quite a bit of confusion among the community regarding the topic. So hopefully, this post will help clear things up.
Before we begin, I believe it is important to clarify a few things.
With that out of the way, let us begin.

While traveling across Arad, you may have stumbled across the word 'Metastasis' in conversation. It's a commonly-used word nowadays, but don't be alarmed if you are unfamiliar it. To tell you the truth, not many Aradians know 'what' the Metastasis is either.
>*The word Devolution, which didn't even exist a couple of years ago, has now entered the vernacular of everyday life. Still, who really knows the true meaning of this word? People assume the word means "monsters that come into existence from nothing." But no one knows exactly about the Devolution. Obviously, it's used to represent all the peculiar events that have been taking place
... keep reading on reddit β‘Not sure how to fix this or if the weapon is just cursed, but Ive been playing a multiplayer map with 3 friends in calamity mod + a few other mods and ever since I got the metastasis weapon, the world dies after a few minutes of me summoning it. Its not a direct crash, we can still move and hit things, but we cannot open chests, interact with npcs, etc. and if one of us does crash we cannot rejoin the server until I unsummon the worm, or in some cases, we do a full restart. Has anyone encountered this problem before or have any idea why this specific weapon is breaking the world?
βAbstract
We have previously proposed that catabolic fibroblasts generate mitochondrial fuels (such as ketone bodies) to promote the anabolic growth of human cancer cells and their metastasic dissemination. We have termed this new paradigm βtwo-compartment tumor metabolism.β Here, we further tested this hypothesis by using a genetic approach. For this purpose, we generated hTERT-immortalized fibroblasts overexpressing the rate-limiting enzymes that promote ketone body production, namely BDH1 and HMGCS2. Similarly, we generated MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells overexpressing the key enzyme(s) that allow ketone body re-utilization, OXCT1/2 and ACAT1/2. Interestingly, our results directly show that ketogenic fibroblasts are catabolic and undergo autophagy, with a loss of caveolin-1 (Cav-1) protein expression. Moreover, ketogenic fibroblasts increase the mitochondrial mass and growth of adjacent breast cancer cells. However, most importantly, ketogenic fibroblasts also effectively promote tumor growth, without a significant increase in tumor angiogenesis. Finally, MDA-MB-231 cells overexpressing the enzyme(s) required for ketone re-utilization show dramatic increases in tumor growth and metastatic capacity. Our data provide the necessary genetic evidence that ketone body production and re-utilization drive tumor progression and metastasis. As such, ketone inhibitors should be designed as novel therapeutics to effectively treat advanced cancer patients, with tumor recurrence and metastatic disease. In summary, ketone bodies behave as onco-metabolites, and we directly show that the enzymes HMGCS2, ACAT1/2 and OXCT1/2 are bona fide metabolic oncogenes.β
Has anyone actually seen this show? Is it actually good? If so, does anyone know where can you watch it?
