Materiel Puns

I watched the first episode of it when it came out. Being a big fan of the graphic novel I didn’t not really understand the connection to the source materiel both story wise and in its tone. I talked to people who really liked the show but were not very familiar with the graphic novel. Do you think the show does justice to the graphic novel?

Ari Nuovo@Phoenix and I collaborated on collecting, opening and documenting a total of 2027 4.0 Materiel Containers. These are the GC seal lootboxes available from the grand companies once you reach captain for 20,000 seals.

Of note, this was not a profit making venture -- we both ended up making negative gil doing this as you can see from our formulas.

As I recall more on that video, one user said Dolores Cannon had also said the same thing and that other spiritual historians had alluded to at least two killings including some teachers. A user here had said that event was in the Christ Letters, and when I asked where exactly, he found out he had mixed up the cursing of the fig tree with the killing of a boy. Did they have one and copy it? Or the blueprints? Why don’t they have the Barret m82? If p90’s and desert eagles existed in fallout 2, why doesn’t the NCR have Barrets? Maybe manufacturing costs, but why not give the barret to rangers or 1st recon? It makes no sense for such a large supply of French anti-materiel rifles to be in the NCR, unless it’s been explained before?

When I get Sprocket*, my intention is to use it as a worldbuilding tool to design the tanks of my worlds, and I was wondering if there were games for designing other materiel, like small arms, aircraft, warships, etc.

I decided to just buy 34 GC lootboxes (17x 3.0 ones, 17x 4.0 ones) because I was curious about the new system in place and thought I might as well share the results of my kinda small sample size for those that might be interested in getting some of those for themselves.

The starting point (here's me hoping I didn't just blow 680k GC seals outta the window lmao)

TOTAL: 2584k gil / 2.584 mil gil

So, 22 minions were worth more than 10k gil (with small "jackpots" like the Fat Cat). Out of 34 lootboxes only 12 were under 10k gil value.

Median (the ones under 10k gil value I didn't bother writing down so they'll be 60 gil each lmao):

2584720 gil / 34 = avg. of 76k gil value

680k GC seals spent

*Please keep in mind that these are the chaotic prices of the EDW launch (Ragnarok, 6/12/2021). I can imagine the prices are going to keep plumetting. I can roughly remember the Capybara Pups being at 500k a few days ago.

All in all, I think I got some pretty decent value for my gc's worth. Aaaaaaand I got to satsify my crippling gacha addiction so that's a plus. Hope that was interesting or gave some sort of value to you. Or something. Enjoy Endwalker!

I had always assumed that Anti Materiel Rifle was supposed to be an Anti Material Rifle. However, I found on wikipedia today that “materiel refers to supplies, equipment, and weapons in military supply-chain management.” So the AMR is supposed to be used to destroy/damage large military equipment. The courier uses it to shoot people. Talk about overkill.

I know there’s Sprocket for tanks, but what about things like warships, aircraft, small arms, etc.?

Edit: I opened 61 boxes across four alts. Got 60 minions, 1 single mount (flying chair).

I had enough GC seals and gear to turn in to buy twice as many boxes, but you need the final rank (run 10 dungeons with your squad) and four of my alts don't have that last rank, so can't buy the boxes.

This was one feature I was excited about, so I saved a ton of gear to turn in. Each materiel container 4.0. cost 20K seals, I have 17 to open off the bat. (And will have as many on 7 other alts, but no way am I switching this morning!)
