EDIT: this post is comparing the LVCC Loop against each London Tube station individually - not together. Because there are up to 7 Loop stations per Mile compared to 1-2 subway stations per mile, this comparison compares the 3 LVCC stations together against each London subway station as the convention Center would only typically be serviced by a single subway station .
I’d be interested in everyone’s thoughts on the fact that the LVCC Loop has actually now demonstrated higher real-world daily ridership than an incredible 82% of the subway stations on the London Underground.
The LVCVA reported last week that “The Boring Company’s tunnel system successfully moved 25,000 to 27,000 passengers daily around the Las Vegas Convention Center campus during SEMA in November. SEMA was the Convention Center and the LVCC Loop’s first full-facility show with 114,000 attendees.” (CES was much smaller only managing around 30,000 registrations and 15,000 to 17,000 Loop passengers per day)
In comparison, the average daily number of passengers through the turnstiles across the entire London Underground in 2017 was only an average of 17,512 people per station with 223 of the 274 subway stations having less than the LVCC’s 27,000 people per day.
Even the busiest London Tube station Oxford Circus only sees 121,364 people per day through its turnstiles across 6 platforms and 11 Lines which means that Tube station only sees an average of 20,000 people per day per platform and 11,000 people per day per line, which is lower than the 25-27,000 people per day for the LVCC Loop.
Also, the SEMA show was only open for 8 hours from 9-5pm each day meaning it handled an average of 3,375 people per hour.
(It should also be noted that the London Tube generally runs between 5am and midnight (19 hours) so the comparison is even more stark.)
However, we know that every mass transit system has peaks and troughs throughout the day meaning that the Loop almost certainly passed the 4,400 pph metric at peak times at the start and finish of the day and/or before and after major keynote conference addresses.
What an incredible success. One would hope that this would well and truly put to rest any concerns about the capacity of the Vegas Loop going forward, but I’m probably being too optimistic where the haters are concerned.
I’m surprised at how there are no barricades in the city on the tube except Jubilee Line.
Not even the subway trains in Stockholm approach stations that fast, so how are they doing it without overshooting?
I like Paddington (District and circle line via High St Kensington) because of its good looking walls. And gants Hill because of the good looking Moscow style

Victoria and Waterloo and City are the only lines that are fully underground.

The shortest distance between two stations is the journey between Leicester Square and Covent Garden at 250 meters and the longest is between Chalfont and Latimer and Chesham at almost 4 miles.
